Richard Marcinko is a retired Commander from the U.S. Navy.
Marcinko will be interviewed on KLIF at 5:30pm Central. Click on this KLIF Streaming Audio link to hear their real-time broadcast.
In his earlier years, Marcinko created and commanded the Navy's first counter terrorist unit, the legendary SEAL Team Six. Its charter: to search and destroy the enemies of the American government around the world. This team became one of the United States' most elite and classified units; they went on very dangerous missions from Central America to the Middle East, the North sea to Africa and beyond. Men with green faces who suddenly appeared from nowhere bringing death belonged to SEAL teams.
Nowadays, he has a private security firm whose clients are governments and corporations.
Marcinko also writes the Rogue Warrior series.
KLIF is a Dallas ABC-affiliate talk-show station. The radio show is hosted from 2-6pm by Ed Wallace.
Marcinko's background bio information was found here.
I'm not employed or associated with either Marcinko or KLIF... I'm just a Dallas area Freeper hoping to identify something of interest to fellow Freepers.

Actually, I saw this guy on Bill O'Reilly's show last night. I liked his attitude. Gave me a lot of confidence in what our military forces are capable of. He left me with no doubt that he could, and would, snap the neck of a terrorist like a carrot stick.

I have heard various opinions about Marcinko's credibility will try to listen though, keep us updated.

I hope someone asks him about his role in feeding the media the story about Senator Bob Kerrey and Vietnam. Colonel Hackworth outlind how this Navy Seal commander started shopping around a story about the Kerrey Seal unit many years ago and Hackworth turned it down for being too sensational and without any proof other than the word of Vietnam revolutionaries and only one of Kerrey's squad. The story condemns Kerrey and yet Marcinko's books glorify those who waste first and then ask questions later. It might be interesting to hear him explain why he tried to sell the story and what his motivation was. Many people on these boards blamed Hillary and Gore for the story and did not realize that it was shopped around by a fellow Seal.

Very Cool...
To: RDangerfield
How you know the Seal shopping the story was Dirty Dick?
Not saying it wasn't, just curious.

FYI

A young fellow who worked for me, enlisted in the navy a short while back, and is working his way toward the seals as we speak. I hope he makes it. He WILL be a great asset.
Good luck Norm! Where ever you are!

#3 I saw that, too; he's ready to rumble; the very kind we need against terrorists.

#10 But is the story true? At the time I heard it, I believed it about Kerrey. I don't even say Kerrey was wrong in what he's accused of doing, but I still believed the story.

It was not. It was a team member of Kerry's.

I met Marcinko in VA a few years ago. He's a lot shorter than I thought he would be after reading his books. Whether or not what he wrote was true, he is fun to read, and interesting to speak with.

This guy was great on O'Reilly!! Loved his kicka$$ attitude. What was that one quote - something like "we aren't bringing anyone back with us" or something! ROFL!
To: Critter
My son in the Navy wants to eventually go on to the Seals. I have mixed feelings about that.
Ed Wallace is wishy-washy moderate liberal.
