I am a former anti-war activist who helped to organize the first campus demonstration against the war in Vietnam at the University of California, Berkeley in 1962. I appeal to all those young people who participated in "anti-war" demonstrations on 150 college campuses this week, to think again and not to join an "anti-war" effort against America

Yep, ya got me on that one. I did a search but didn't think I had to look that far back. Oh, well. Two threads on the subject can't be all that bad - eh?

Well, it's pretty difficult, with all the sphincter pressure cutting off the blood supply to the brain and all...

the author did not bold segments of the article. articles should be presented without altering the content. if horowitz wanted those sections in bold, i'm sure he knows how to do it. if you want to add your stuff, there's an entire block where that can be done after the article so that it's marked as yours.

What I marvel at is the paradox of our human condition. A peace activist would, you'd think, be a passivist... a passivist would, you'd think, be someone who would by definition not respond violently when attacked, either physically or verbally.

Watch them writhe with displaced passion for their cause. Corner them in debate and watch them froth with anger. Spit in their eye, and they'll tear after you with rage.

Peace-nicks... na... just a bunch of lost souls in their lost worlds, desperately grasping for importance.

Congratulations for a fine, perspective and thoughtful article, but ...
The war in Vietnam was not lost because of the anti-war demonstrators. It was lost because of the leftist news media and spineless Congress brainwashing the American public into belief of an unjust war. I know. I was on the other side participating in demonstrations against the leftist traitors, who sold the Vietnamese into an oppressive communist system and almost destroyed our country.

Somehow, the comparison between the anti-war demonstrators during Vietnam days and today's just doesn't work for me.
