Losing Track of Illegal Immigrants

Over the past decade, terrorists have posed as students, slipped across the lightly patrolled Canadian border, used false passports and presented themselves as tourists to enter the United States and plot deadly acts.

Their persistence in exploiting loopholes forced U.S. officials to confront a monumental question after the Sept. 11 attacks: Can a broken system, designed to police millions of people who come to the United States in search of a better life, be quickly reconfigured to capture the few who arrive in pursuit of a life of terror.

All these terrorist where in our nation illegally.

Our borders are bleeding and are a national disgrace and now have become a national security nightmare. Even our legal immigration is an absolute "free for all".

Authorities say there are more than 300,000 people nationwide who have been ordered deported and they do not have the resources to locate all of them.

No, no, no. The primary aim of immigration policy under our former Glorious Leader was to bring in more votes for clinton and gore. Everything else is so much eyewash.

Once in U.S., Most Foreigners Easily Escape Notice of INS

Libertarians have been VERY quiet for over three weeks, concerning open immigration and drugs. Both central to Taliban terrorism. Opium and open immigration.

Here is text of a letter I sent to Bush, my elected representatives and AG Ashcroft. Please feel free to borrow/alter it. Send a real, dead-tree, snail-mail letter and not an email. America's freedom and security are surely worth $1.70 in postage and 10 minutes of typing!

President George W. Bush
The White House
Washington, DC 20500

Dear President Bush:

Perhaps the most basic role of any government is to ensure the safety of its citizens. The barbaric terrorist attacks of September 11th have shown that our government has not been doing all it can do to safeguard Americans from foreign nationals in our country illegally who would do us harm.

Please, Mr. President, instruct the INS to immediately find, arrest and deport the over 9 million aliens now in our country illegally. Then, I beg you to reform the immigration system so that America can regain control of its borders. Considering that the recent attacks cost over 6,000 innocent lives, over $60 billion in physical damage, and uncounted billions more in economic damage, almost any expense to reform immigration and enhance enforcement of our laws is justified.

Although the main reason for ejecting aliens illegally in our country is to enhance public safety, an added bonus will be the millions of jobs that would make available to Americans unemployed by the current economic downturn, as well as the decreased burden on taxpayers.

God bless you, Mr. President, and God bless America!

This article was discussed last night on another thread. I am new to posting. Can someone provide a link here so last night's comments can be integrated with these? I don't know how to do it.

Here is the title from last night's thread.

The only thing reassuring about this story is that it appeared on the front page of the Washington Post.

I doubt it would have even been written befoere 9/11.

I've been against illegal immigration and our immigration policies in general for at least 10 years. I supported Pat Buchanan's position on it

I agree with your letter, but I am not holding my breath. Instead of the targeting the scourge that the illegal immigrants are, they will be politically correct and target everyone, in the name of equality.

Thanks for posting the link. I realize the titles are different and didn't mean any criticism to you. I only wanted to let people on this thread have access to reading the comments from last night. And I didn't have the technical knowledge on how to accomplish it. I have been lurking for a year but am a novice poster. Thanks for your help.
