Breaking news on Palm Beach County TV. Office building housing 300 employees closed. Bob Stevens died Friday from airborne anthrax. One of his co-workers in Boca Raton has tested positive. The Emergency Center in PBC is full of reporters.

Why are you trying to panic people? These are just isolated incidents and you're an alarmist if you say anything different. I know this because the TV guy said so.

If this is true, hopefully they tested this second guy early enough for treatment to be effective. And, IIRC, anthrax isn't communicable from person-to-person, so they most likely were exposed at about the same time, from the same source - which should help the local authorities pin down the source...

Easy enough to check a poster out before commenting. This is not on the
WPEC NEWS 12 website yet but it will be. Palm Beach Post reported today this strain of anthrax is not made in a lab. But they are very serious on TV tonight. The PBC Emergency Center is in full swing (some of you will remember that location from the election recount protests).

Link is above but nothing there yet. They were testing anyone who had flu symptoms in the area of the first infection. They found this case of anthrax after a nasal swab. Going to check out TV...brb.

It's not on Channel 5's website yet either. Keep us posted. The broadcast from channel 5 said that his relatives and co-workers have been tested and so far so good. Not sure how old that broadcast is though.
