I myself needed these explained when I joined last year. Bump and BTTT (which means "Back To The Top") are one-word gimmicks to bring a thread back to the top of the list of Most Recent Replies. Ping is use when people who have not yet contributed to a thread are addressed (instead of a reply to someone who has already posted a message), to sort of alert them to a thread which may interest them and maybe goad them into participating.

Hey, EVERYONE who ever has had to assemble something that comes with these miserably-translated Japanese or Chinese instruction sheets found "ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US" hysterical!

I once put together a radio-controlled racecar for my son the night before Christmas, figuring that it would take an hour or so. Thanks to the instruction book (28 pages of, mainly, gibberish) it took me ALL NIGHT!
