  • Atheist Questions the Practice of Halloween...

How about atheists aren't as brainwashed as most christians. But I am a believer trying to shed some of the brainwashing. My family celebrates no holidays except for Thanksgiving. Cause I am thankful...everyday...but the whole family gets that time off at the same time, so it is convenient. Years and years ago ducks used to be called chickens but we have called them ducks for so long, we don't even know they are chickens anymore. (sarcasm) I guess that makes it all ok...LOL.

Also a possibility if you cry wolf enough people will start to ignore. How long could we emotionally play that game?

A wonderful post!! And said so much better than I seem to be able to say it. It is hard for people to separate themselves from what they are used to and feel safe in. But God said His people do separate themselves and that they are a parculiar (sp) people...a remnant. I think about the people who died and the terrible way they died getting free from the bondage of Roman Catholism, 65 million from the beginning of popery up to the mid 1800's. I know in Revelation the martyred souls who died for what they believed in cry for vengence. God doesn't tell them to forgive, He tells them to wait till the full number of martyrs is complete. Then He pours out his judgement. I would be insane to sit in an RCC and accept her doctrines of devils. Revelation 17 describes her to the tee!! Even in the fact they call Mary the Queen of Heaven, that same figure is mentioned in Rev. 17. God will destroy the Roman Catholic Church and any daughters she has produced also. We believers do live in perilous times. "In the last days if it were possible even the very elect of God will be deceived." That is how good and right it will look, but "There is a way that seems right unto man that leads to destruction." ALL I have is the blood of Christ, there is nothing more powerful. There is no other way by which men may be saved. I don't care how pretty or good it looks. Satan masqarades as an angel of light and he is very religious. He is not ugly, he was an arch-angel for petesake, and he knows scripture well and how to put people in his control with it.

Watch the quake reports...time for the ground to open up. Its been pretty active out there for a few days. God did not start with Adam and Steve....and God will not be mocked! We got the term Sodomy from a little town called Sodom..who had a neighbor called Gomorrah. And brace yourselves folks but there were children in those towns. Scary times we live in.

Awww Smedley..good to hear from you again, and in such good humor as always. LOL I tell you what..why don't you take the time that you would spend praying for me searching for what the Lord meant when he said "We would worship Him in spirit and in truth." See if you can find that point without all the extra stuff. And speak English. You really are quite puffed up in your head knowledge aren't you? And telling me to stay away from the catholic threads is pointless and quite tyrannical don't you think? Do you really think I will mind your orders? LOL. Me thinks I will conform to my protesting Protestant background as much as you will your controling, murderous catholic background. You will never understand a personal relationship with a Holy God till you get rid of all your other little worthless gods. It's your loss not mine. You still can't see the forest for the trees.

You are well brain-washed. Venerate still means worship. We could debate for days but are you happy? Do you know where you will go when you do die? Are you sure you have done enough to justify yourself in the presence of a Holy God? Have you been born-again? Do you even have any idea what it means or how it feels? You have taken all the letter of action and rituals and laws and this thing and that thing but you really don't know if you have done enough do you? Will you escape your purgatory? Are you at peace with God? Or do you hope you light enough candles and say enough hail Mary's to earn what you seek. Because for all your knowledge, I see a person full of dead men's works. White washed but no clue as to a father, son relationship with God. Just religion, and religion crucified Christ and thousands that came after Him. Many high officials in the RCC used all the same words you have used to justify their beliefs, so they could burn those like me at the stake. I'm free in Christ...I have taken your catachism classes...attended your masses and thought why would anyone want this? Its so dead. Actually that is what made me start digging for why its feels so dead and what is wrong with it. There is NO way I would trade what I have for what you have. And the sad thing is emotionally and spiritually you don't know what you are missing. But then how do you describe the beauty of anything to someone who chooses to be blind and will not see. You can get alot of people on that wide path that leads to destruction...it has no barriers..lots of room and masses of people on it, no restrictions..just follow the crowd. But that narrow path that few find has a gate, that gate being Christ and He is the only way thru. Most people can't handle the fact that their goodness must be what puts them on that path and not just the Blood of Christ. He made it so simple, but its just not good enough for so many, just have to add stuff to make it appear holy. Vain imaginations of men..God called it. I am curious to see the legalistic shanigans of adding Mary as the fourth person of the trinity. This should be a really good one.

Hi again Smed. On with the discussion. ok..you want my sources. My biggest would be the Holy Spirit and scripture but I know that doesn't account for much with you sooo...I don't rely much on anti-catholism literature altho there has been some real insight gotten from it. Unfortunately much that was published before the 1950's has pretty much disappeared..hhmm imagine that. My best source is what is put out by Roman Catholism itself, my favorite being The Catholic Encyclopedia Dictionary written by Donald Attwater and several of your priests , and The Catholic Action Society. How about I just give you some definitions from one of YOUR books. Veneration..."The word commonly used to express in English that worship given to the saints directly, or through images or relics." See there seems to be quite the word play in Catholism. You don't divorce, you annul. You don't worship, you venerate. Yet venerate means worship and annul means divorce. Infallible... incapable of teaching what is false, or immoral. But you had the inquisitions and the holy crusades. Killing is ok. And if that was a mistake then why is it not possible for your doctrine to be false. It all kind of reminds me of Clinton..."I did not have sex with that woman!!" There was no intercourse yet she had semen all over her dress, and it was his. I do not have the time or the space to type the countradictions that come from YOUR literature. So tell me Smedley, was the killing of innocent people because they did not want to be part of the RCC right? And if it was wrong back then, (only happened by the orders of the Pope) then is it not wrong today? If it was wrong back then, then your Popes are NOT infallible and if they are capable of such deeds I would NOT be part of it. IF everything is right and perfect in the RCC, and you do what ever you are taught and told to do, would you kill for him again? You brag about your centuries old traditions...murder is one them. I'm curious...Immaculate Conception (has nothing to do with virgin birth).." Mary being exempted from all stain of original sin." In other words she was as sin free as Christ. Where do you find that in scripture? Hey...your books and teachings say alot but you can't line them up with scripture, not even yours. You should not be afraid to question what you have been taught, even I have had to, the cost is your very soul.

hahaha....I think that means you felt very insecure. LOL What was even stranger about my dream was, if I was going to imagine subways being blown...I know nothing about explosives. It would have blown the streets up above the subway. I asked my husband what a bomb would do in a tunnel structure under the streets of a major city, and he said it would follow the tunnel...that's exactly what it did in my dream. Anyway...just jitters I guess, and worried about fellow americans more than I am worried about me.

I am not wearing a tin foil hat. But it was strange to wake up dreaming about subways being blown up this morning. I never remember my dreams usually. No pizza the nite before, life as usual and I hadn't even thought of something like that. What worries me is the dreams I remember are usually the ones that happen. I hope this one is wrong. I was in a bit of a tither all day.
