Hysterical - haven’t been able to browse this website in a long time, and I see people are still engaging in banter about duplicate posts and appropriate media sites. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Perhaps I didn’t know her political views well enough, but if Barbara Olson were still alive I find it hard to believe that she would have allowed Ted to have gotten involved in his pro-sodomite actions over the past few years.

A little more inside baseball: Dahlberg screwed up royally by agreeing to suspend voting at 2:00 a.m. and continue at 9 a.m. That allowed McFadden to send out buses to pick up delegates who skipped Friday's event (for work or other reasons). I had heard two CDCs marvel at all of the new voters Saturday morning, then heard someone affiliated with Dahlberg's campaign say that there were 700 new voters that morning. Dahlberg went from being ahead 54% - 44% on the 7th ballot with 1186 people voting to only 49.3% to 49.2% with 1937 voting on the 8th ballot. From there, momentum clearly on McFadden's side. If Dahlberg had gone one more ballot, he might have crept up to 56%, which probably would have been enough to get him over the hump on the next vote.

Not a huge fan of McFadden, Dahlberg, or Ortman, but the latter two had major potential skeletons for Franken to exploit (divorce/credit card issue for Dahlberg, potential mention on Brodkorb "cheater's list" for Ortman). Don't know if any exist for McFadden; I know people were digging hard.

Seifert, being from rural Minnesota, is supposedly the only Republican who could reach outstate voters. Don't know if I buy that. If Johnson runs more ads like his hilarious ad comparing Dayton's policies to a student driver, he'll have a real shot. Seifert will be tough in the primary; Honour's wasting his money.

If Ortman is the candidate, Franken has nothing to worry about. Aside from being, at best, a milquetoast campaigner, it is rumored that Ortman is on the Brobkorb list - the list of Minnesota legislators/staffers who has been engaging in an extra-marital affair, supposedly with another prominent politician. Brodkorb is a former website provocateur/legislative staffer who was having an affair with the former Senate Majority Leader, leading to his firing. In retaliation, Brodkorb filed a wrongful termination lawsuit, threatening to name others who also cheated on their spouses, but who weren’t fired. Brodkorb’s attorney “accidentally” neglected to confidentially file a document with the list of cheating politicians when e-filing it, so it was publicly available for about a half-hour. News media has the list. But like good libtards, they won’t start asking her questions about it unless she gets the nomination. If you go to Brodkorb’s website, he’s strongly opposing her.

Agreed. Those ads that the national party is running in several states (just switching the Democrat incumbent) are beyond stupid. What idiot thinks those are effective? Just flush the money down a toilet instead of running that ineffective pap. No emotional connection whatsoever.

I love Ted Cruz, and dearly want him to be president. That being said, he needs more time in office. My eye is on Gov. Scott Walker. Having a former governor is ideal, and from what I know of Walker, he’d do a great job.

Don't mean to pick on you, but I'm sick and tired of reading that Franken somehow stole the election from Coleman. Not at all what happened. Coleman lost the election in 2 ways - (1) ineligible voters who voted; and (2) Minnesota Supreme decision, which ultimately allowed Coleman's legal team to get outmaneuvered by Franken's.

First is self-explanatory. The second, the Court rules that for the contested ballots, instead of having them formally reviewed, as the statute explicitly requires, they said that Coleman and Franken could review said ballots, and if they agreed they could be counted, they would. Franken's team knew which counties/districts were heavy for them, so they pushed for ballots from these areas to be counted. Coleman's team inexplicably had no clue where their voters are (inside baseball - they didn't see the value in building a good enough database). Consequently when there were disputed ballots in Coleman-leaning areas, Franken's people smartly objected.

Coleman's legal team were idiots and never should have agreed to do this. That's what cost Coleman the election during the recount.

Sorry for the tardy reply. Longstanding law dictates that citizens can only sue the government pursuant to an explicit statute authorizing the lawsuit. Keep in mind that this case, the issue is not whether the Sheriffs can sue, but in what capacity - from what I read, they can sue as individuals, but not as elected officials (i.e., their office).

A prison like that is part of the reason why I think more people would survive a zombie apocalypse than depicted on the show/other media. Also factor in all of the gated communities and homes in Florida and California, with built-in panic rooms. Perhaps getting supplies would become a problem after a month.

Not to get all nerdy on you, but his character’s brain was infused with an infostamp that the Cybermen had on Doctor Who. Wasn’t that he went nuts from grief. But great episode.

I wish this show would case celebrities as zombies every now and then. Perhaps that would take away from the environment of the show. Also wish they’d note that Tyrese was an NFL player, like in the comic.

Without having read the opinion, I respectfully disagree with your viewpoints. I'm going to presume that the law only allows individuals standing to sue. An elected official is not an "individual" under the law. I have some experience with this - I am an elected official and tried to initiate a lawsuit with my elected office as the Plaintiff. Judge tossed it - rightly - because the statute under which we were operating only allowed individuals to initiate the lawsuit. I see parallels here.

So while federal judges engage in outrageous political acts on a seemingly daily basis, I don't believe this decision should be lumped in with those. Remember that the law can be very nuanced.

Why not DeLay?

Because DeLay helped drive up spending and the deficit, and engaged in his own attempt at cronyism. He's an example of a politician who went completely Washington" on us. That's the horsecrap thing about politics - their guys go to Washington as scumbags and get scummier, while our guys go to Washington after talking a good game, but then get scummy themselves. Repealing the 17th Amendment and having state legislatures appoint U.S. Senators would go a long way towards resolving that problem.

(2) If you read the article, you will find that the Libertarian candidate is NOT harming Cuccinelli that much. McAwful would still have a 2-point edge if Sarvis wasn't there. Some Libertarian-supporters are really just liberal-lite - they will not support a Pro-Life, Anti-Sodomite Normalizer (my own term, which I think accurately describes our view on the issue) candidate.
