  • Virginia Gov. Eyed for 2008 - Speculation Grows On Presidential Bid For Warner in 2008

I am a native Virginian ~ Please don't be fooled by this thug ~ He is from somewhere else (my best guess would be a blue zone) a come in to this state~ He promised not to raise taxes and to end the hated VA car tax which is what got him elected ~ He is flat out a liar. He has lied to everyone in VA to give us the largest tax increase in the history of the state when we had a budget surplus. He wanted a lot more than he got.

It is my understanding that he got lucky and invested in cell phones at the right time and made his money which he used to get elected. He is arrogant in a way that is rather like Kerry, he knows all because he made some money but has been wrong in all his economic predictions.

I would consider him very liberal not conservative and he was a real busy bee just before the election giving pardons to felons. He maybe smart enough not to push for gun control but he not one to be trusted.

Not sure he could get elected for dog catcher now in VA.

We live in Central VA and have lost manufacturing jobs in this area of the state too. We have a small engine repair business here at our home and my husband also has a full time job. We have around 100 different customers here at the house and out of those we have only ONE rabid dim Skerry supporter. The rest are very vocal about being for Bush. My husband hears the same from customers at work. In fact in this area of the state they think Bush is a liberal and Kerry is a commie traitor who should have been hung for what he pulled. Northern VA is the part of the state that worries me as they are the ones who gave us Gov Warner. A yankee upstart come in know it all. There is not doubt in my mind this part of the state will go for Bush.

You are so right ~ I called Warner the RINO yesterday and told him I was gonna vote a straight RAT ticket ~ and then never vote again if he pulled this S**T ~ The guy from his office tried to acted like he didn't know anything about the AW being hung on the bill ~ but did let the cat out of the bag that the phones were ringing off the hook over it ~ Even W has said he would sign it ~ George sure has changed since he was taken under Warner's wing ~

For those of you who don't have the Capitol Switchboard Toll Free number is 1-877-762-8762 ~ Keep those phone lines burning on their dime.

Out here in Central VA ~ a home of real conservatives ~ the lunch table poll where my husband works ~ please remember ~I am speaking about people who voted Bush in 2000 ~ just regular hard working guys ~ blue collar non-union~ Bush is running zero job approval

Most are already saying they will not vote (they will never go dim) at all unless there is a 3rd party true conservative ~ the rest are muttering lib party ~ I guess

They are not happy with most issues~ feeding Iraq ~ aiding Iran ~ rebuilding Iraq ~ his postion on gun control ~ the open borders ~the mexican invasion ~ even before his new amnesty plan ~ ramadan dinner in the white house ~ they view islam as evil ~ removal of our constitutional rights ~the price of healthcare and having to pay for illegals ~ I think you get the idea the list goes on and on ~

They feel totally betrayed by Bush and his party

I am praying my heart out for all of you. I am in Virginia and a little more than a month ago watched Isabel destroy homes and lives here. I truly understand the pain you are feeling. So many people were praying for us and I want you to know that so many are praying for you too and are with you in spirit.

You may just get your wish as May 25 is the date this year for Rolling Thunder. Many of the bikers get to DC a few days early and most are Vets. I would guess that there will about 250,000 to 500,000 bikers in DC that weekend for the Ride to the Wall.

Technogeeb writes "Then you will always get evil."

It has been a long time since I have posted. I refuse to keep permanent cookies in my machine. So if anyone responds I more than likely won't answer. I will clean it out after I post.

I have been working for the 2A since Lyndon Banes got this mess started back in 1968. My husband and I have pounded election signs, slugged through the mud to do it and then stayed up all night guarding them. The night before Ollie's election four of us drive 1000 stakes and stapled 2000 signs and kept them standing all night and then went and opened polls. We hadn't slept for at least 48 hours. I could go on and on about all the 2A things we have done over the years. So I think after 35 years, I have earned my say.

For a long time we have worked and sometimes managed to get Republicans elected, but more times than not we have been disappointed by their votes. Sad but true. We fought Moran until we moved to the country in Central VA.

We understand that most freepers would like for the Republicans to be conservatives. There are some things that W & his party are doing that we agree with but there is a lot that we don't agree with.

So lets make a list of some of the problems.

    1) The 2A issues

    2) Islam is a religion of peace and love. (Pretty PC guys.)

    3) The borders are still open.

    4) We are still in the UN

    5) "You are with us or you are with the terroists." The jury is still out on France, (aside: my family sent 6 to WW2 ETO so France is a real issue in this house) Germany, Russia, Turkey and a few others.

    6) English as the national language.

    7) We are still being over run by people who have no legal right to be here and paying their bills and making their children citizens. They are criminals.

    8) Patroit Acts 1 & 2

There are a lot of other issues. There is a lot of thinking to be done. There is time to wait and see what happens but in the 35 years I have been fighting I just continue to see our rights slip away. Voting for the least of the evils has not worked well. It is getting old. I wish I had the answer but I don't. I fear the road we are walking down for the changes we had hoped for are not happening. We continue to lose our rights. I really don't know what we will do on election day. I doubt that I will until it comes time to pull the lever. I hope and pray that we have a real conservative running. We have too look at the whole picture. The least of the evils is still evil.

The old line 'give him time' ain't cutting it any more.

In addition "voting for the least of the evils" just seems to get us more evil.

Being a Virginian, my family has lived through a few things in this country that a lot people in the rest of the country have never experienced. Both of my Grandparents, lived through the Federal Reconstruction of the South. They both had passed away before I was born, but there were plenty in the family to tell me the tales. It wasn't a fun time ~ but then martial law never is. I have read a lot of back and forth on this board about the Confederate flag and what it means to the south. I have stayed out of the discussions until now, because I have never felt the time was right to try and explain. I know that all of you have heard the southern expression "Forget Hell". I was taught at my Dad's knee that expression and the flag were always to be kept as a reminder so that we would never forget what the Federal Government did in the South in the years after the war.

When I looked into new restrictions in the Patriot Act, I knew that what had been done to the south after the war was gonna be done to everybody in this country. I nearly walked out front and hung the battle flag out. I decided not to out of respect for those who died on 9-11 and those who are fighting for this country. It won't be long before I exchange Old Glory for Betsy and add the Culpeper Flag. I imagine that if you are Native American, that you have a real good understanding of my words. I have spent 33 years, working in the system to fix it. I am hereby retired.

To those who wish to flame me ~ flame away. You will come to understand one day, as you see the PC in power in this country and the new Department of Homeland Oppression strip your rights away before they hand you your new UN flag. I can hear the new pony soldiers in the distance......

But the planned talks were put aside because of the September 11 attacks on U.S. landmarks in Washington and New York, he said.

Not so the Saudis cancelled their visit to Washington for no reason on September 9 or 10. I will always wonder who knew what and when.
