I don't think the question of what Kerry said is central in the minds of most voters. I thought it was being promoted for partisan purposes. So we put the story on the inside page.

May I translate elitist liberal speak to straight forward english?

I will do all I can to make sure the question of what Kerry said does not enter the minds of most voters. I hope to conceal it for partisan purposes. So we put the story on the inside page.

"Morrison and the media were successful in turning this into a privacy issue, regardless of the fact that the privacy "right" at issue was the effort to conceal or ignore evidence of crimes committed against young girls."

Right on zacharycole - You hit the nail squarely on the head. Kline did not lose to Morrison, he lost to the MEDIA.

The Kansas people simply did not realize what this election was about. It was repeated over and over that Kline was a Dr Evil who wanted to snoop in everyones medical records. That was pounded into their heads relentlessly by the media. I guarantee you that many many thousands of voters would have voted for Kline if they had known the real truth about just what this so-called "privacy issue" was about.

Before the election, my wife and I talked to many people who would state; "I'm not voting for Kline, he wants to snoop in our medical records". That is THE ONLY THING they knew about the race.
They did not know it involved an investigation into child rape.
They did not know the ONLY records Kline wanted involved specific cases of child molestation/rape
They did not know the victims names were redacted from the records to be reviewed.
They did not know Tiller -the baby killer- pumped over a million into the anti Kline campaign.

After the election, a couple of ladies at my wife's work proudly stated they voted for Morrison. They literally shed tears after my wife told them the details behind the issue... and the realized what they had voted for.

If you want to show others what they voted for, check my webpage
The focus now should be to ensure that the investigation Kline started is not dropped by Morrison. So that page is not to make them feel bad but to finish the job of prosecuting the child rapists Kline was after.

...and since there is - at minimum - the appearance of possible conflict of interest with Morrison, an unbiased special prosecuter should be assigned.

Morrison has now done an about face and said that he will look at the records, since they already now have them in the AG's office. But that's not good enough. He can now just pay lip service to silence his critics.... and then just announce that "there wasn't really anything there... - Kline was on fishing expedition just like I said". That way he silences his critics and keeps doesn't betray his debt to Tiller.

The deception of the media duped thousands of people into voting for Kline. 30 second attention spans, and a trust in the media were responsible for the overwhelming win for Morrison

Kansans are decent people. They just did not know.
This shows you the power of the media to turn any election.

  • O'Reilly Abortion Report Riles Kansas MD

This Kansas Attorney General race is so very important.

There are rumors that the Morrison campaign has received large sums of money from Tiller -the baby killer- funneled through third parties. In exchange, Morrison, if elected, will drop the investigation. There is speculation that O'Reilly's Monday show may discuss Tiller's -the baby killer- efforts to buy the AG office.

In my opinion, this issue is NOT about abortion. Kline's actions are NOT an invasion of privacy. It is about prosecuting child sexual predators and rapists. His opponents want to protect child molesters and rapists - and that is not an exaggeration.

Pro-Abortion people argue that this is a threat against a woman's right to choose. Here's a news flash for those people - a 10-15 year old girl is not a woman.

When a 10 year old girl is brought into an abortion clinic (usually by the man who molested and impregnated her), a crime has already been committed. In the cases being investigated, the clinics KNOW the idenity of the person who has violated the child - but they will not reveal it.

What about that child rights? For pro-abortion activists, the KC STAR and others against Kline, apparently that 10 year old abused child can be sacrificed in order to protect abortion.

Please make some calls today and tomorrow and urge people to turn out and vote for Phill Kline.

Kline's appearance on Fridays O'Reilly show can be seen here
This video is a powerful statement.

If you know any Kansas voter on the fence about this race, ask them to watch these video clips.

I attended the funeral of a 19 year old killed in IRAQ a couple of weeks ago. Services were held in the high school auditorium. Huge crowd. The WB loonies were there, I saw them as I drove in because I circled the area before.

I spoke with some officers of the Police detail as well as Patriot Guard members and of course they were all disgusted that the loonies were present.

However, I was so pleased with the way the Police handled it. They gave a permit for the loonies to protest on the west side of the building, which was really out of view. When the processional left, they routed us out on the east side, where the family, nor anyone else even saw the fruitloops.

All we saw were people lining the streets with hands over their hearts and solemn salutes. The entire 20 mile drive to the cemetary, there were officers at attention closing all ramps and every intersection, and everyday people pulling over to the side of the road and getting out of their cars with salutes and hands over hearts.

Hi Joe - Good to cyber see ya! I hope that things have been going well for you... I have to run this morning but just wanted to pop in and say hi and thanks for the ping. While I'm here I'll post a something to remind us all of the great fairness of tobacco taxation -

    GOV’T ADDICTION TO TOBACCO MONEY

“Between 1998 and 2002, state and federal governments collected $135 billion in tobacco taxes and state settlement payments -- more than $74 million a day.  The $51,334 the government pockets every minute from smokers is nearly $10,000 more than the 2001 median household income the average working family earned in a year.  The government has a virtual monopoly on tobacco profits.  In 2003, the government per-pack profit -- $1.74 -- was almost 16 times more than the 11 cents per pack R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company earned.  On average, 46 percent of the cost of a pack of cigarettes nationwide goes to the government.

“If you think this revenue is needed to fund the cost of tobacco-control programs, think again.  According to a March 2004 report by the U. S. General Accounting Office (GAO), states are spending just 2 percent of the billions of dollars they receive in settlement funds on tobacco control and less than 20 percent on health-related programs.  The GAO reports that 54 percent of the $11.4 billion states will receive in fiscal year 2004 will be spent on budget shortfalls, 17 percent on health-related programs, 7 percent on debt service on securitized tobacco settlement funds, 6 percent on general purposes, 5 percent on infrastructure, and just 2 percent toward tobacco control.  Commenting on the GAO report, Sam Kazman, general counsel for the Competitive Enterprise Institute, said, "[T]he states...have become addicted to tobacco money, spending it on all kinds of unrelated programs."

That was in a email newsletter I received this morning...called "SmokeScreen". (sound familar?) It's online here

our friend and fellow FReeper Max McGarrity passed away this week.

I had not heard about that. I am very saddened to hear it now. Hang in there Gabz - I know how bad it hurts.

It's hard to believe that someone would take that opportunity to be cruel - but don't let 'em get to you. Those people are not worth wasting much time thinking about.

I had an experience with someone recently, whom I can only describe as evil. Everyone said "he'll direct his hate at the next person who crosses his path any day now, and forget about you"...which was true. But nevertheless, just being exposed to that vileness, left a bad feeling that took time to go away.

Anyway, I'm not too good at talking about stuff like this - but I wanted to let you know you're not alone and we're sharing this with you. I hope that you get to feeling better in the coming days and weeks.

Thank you for contacting Anheuser-Busch. We appreciate hearing from the public, even when it comes in the form of criticism.

We are not a sponsor of Ludacris’ concert tour, nor is he a spokesperson for our brands.

In seven cities where Ludacris is appearing, he will host private parties following his concerts. Bud Light is making tickets available to adult fans to these after-parties, which will be held at bars and clubs. Those attending must be 21 or older, and proof of age will be required at the door.

We do not control or influence the performance content of music artists or other celebrities we work with. Many adults who enjoy Bud Light are fans of Ludacris, who has a broad-based, multicultural following.

Seems to me that you're nit picking Spok's grammer. Let's not argue the definition of "is", please.

In my opinion, "Kill Bill" was gratititous and totally pointless as a whole. (I admit that I have that opinion without ever having seen it - I don't have to.)

In general, these particular reviewers complain "The Passion" is bad because of violent content, but the violence in "Kill Bill" is thrilling. Seems hypocritical to me.

    "An exercise in style"
A.O. Scott, NY TIMES on Kill Bill

"The Passion of the Christ is so relentlessly focused on the savagery of Jesus' final hours that this film seems to arise less from love than from wrath, and to succeed more in assaulting the spirit than in uplifting it."
A.O. Scott, NY TIMES on Passion

"It oozes, drips, flows, gushes, splatters and geysers in lush crimson to oily black. Scalps, limbs and heads are freely removed from characters' bodies."
"Make no mistake: The film is hugely watchable"

"...near-pornographic violence and concerns about its potential to incite anti-Semitism..."

Still no major updates but it does seem to be confirmed that there was indeed a shooter at the scene. Tires flattened on fire truck, bullet holes in vehicles, plus policemen report that they saw a shooter firing at them from behind an outbuilding. They returned fire but the shooter apparently escaped on foot.

It's hard to imagine that the missing owner of the house could be physically able to elude capture - he is 62 years old and well over 300 lbs - but as of yet, there are no reports of him being found. That also does not seem to fit the profile of a meth house manufacturer.

The TV reports repeat the phrase that the homeowner was known to had a "cache of weapons". Not sure if their definition of cache is fair - may be. But early on, one anchor said the suspect had fled, was "armed and capable of great violence" - that might be true, but he definitely said that before any police statements were released. Seems to me that he made that assessment all by himself and prematurely.

Maybe we'll know more in the morning.

Great post - You have described my feelings precisely. In a way, I dread going to see this movie Wednesday night. It is going to be difficult to watch.

I almost never go to the movies (I do see a lot on DVD) but I bought a dozen advance tickets for this one, mainly just to do my part in contributing to a big opening week success, i.e. supporting Mel Gibsons effort.

I'll buy the DVD too, when it comes out - even though I possibly may never watch it again.
