We rate movies and we rate tv shows and even the airwaves yet for some reason the Internet is treated different.

This is not about freedom but quite the opposite it does not give us the freedom to decide on what we and our children see.

It behooves us to have some way of regulating internet content. Why the Government would not step in a force some kind of rating system for Internet content is pathetic. One of the few things they could do involving the internet that would benefit us all.

We don’t have to limit what people publish on the internet or what they choose for content we just need to have a ratting system which give us freedom to choose.

Fundamentally economic system fit on a scale goes from private ownership, to social ownership to government ownership. In essence these terms describe ownership.

Capitalism: an economic system in which the production and distribution of goods depend on invested private capital and profit making.

Socialism: an economic system in which the community as a whole own and control the means of production, distribution and exchange.

Communism: a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person is paid according to his works, needs and abilities.

Fundamentally political system fit on a scale from one individual in power to all people holding political power. In essence these terms describe governance.

    Dictatorship (monarchy): government by one

Oligarchy: government by a privileged few

    Democracy: government by all

    Here are some other definitions:

Corporation: a group of people who act as an individual and recognized by law as a single entity

    Interestingly….

A corporation is a socialistic entity in that a group of people owns the corporation and yet in governed usually as an oligarchy or dictatorship.

The USA operates with a capitalist economic system yet which states an individual can own a means of production or distribution yet they claim that all of its individuals are able to govern themselves. Unfortunately, this only happens during an election, otherwise the government is an oligarchy made up of elected officials and corporations. Although an economic success the USA must maintain an imperialistic policy in order to maintain this it’s interests.

The former USSR operateed with a communist economic system yet ran as an oligarchy bordering on dictatorship and ended up in failure. New Russia is taking on a system that is slightly more democratic and slightly more capitalistic.

Most European nations are similar democracies as compared to the USA however are much more socialistic in governance but have incurred debt ridden and inefficient government institutions.

Many of the Central American companies are operated as Dictatorships that embrace capitalism but the general population is impoverished.

Most people recognize the whole patron saint thing as being rather silly. This is certainly anther good example.

One think no note about magic vs magik. The first is an performance art. It is really the art of illusion and recognized as such. There is no conflict with this and Christianity.

However the second, the conjurering of spells, praying to evil spirits, summoning of spirits is the magik that the bible is refering to.

Back in college I recall meet many women that would call themselves feminists. They tended to fall in to two categories.

The first was the group that would never stop whining and complaining about how they were vicitomized.

The second group were those who had a clear vision of what they wanted to do in life and would never take no for an answer.

Today all of the women who were like the second group have been very successful and from talking to them they are quite happy. The ones from the first group are still very unhappy and still complaining.

Sometimes I think a feminist can be her own worst enemy.

The presumption of innocence holds only prior to conviction. The party who make the accusations, usually the procecutor, must prove beyond a reasonable doubt, that the defendent is guilty.

Once a convicition can be overturned, however, not the opposite is true the court. The court views the defendent as guilty unless proven otherwise. So new evidence is reviewed by the courts before a retrial is allowed. The conception that people are immediatly freed come from the cases where the procecutor believes that the new evidence proves innocence and agrees to freeing the defendent.

The reason that a jury would be chosen instead of a judge usually depends on what is believed to give the defendent a favorable outcome. This is never simple. To decide this one would look the judges pevious verdics for similar cases. If there seems to be a bios then one may elect to have a jury. However a jury will usually refect the opinions of the general public. If you beleive the judge may be more impartial then you would choose a judge. On the contrary if the view of the general public is in the defendents favor you may choose tho have a jury.

A jury is also more emotional and adds addition cost to the prosecution. Some lawyer will use this to their advantage.

bureaucracy: a system of administration marked by officialism, red tape, and proliferation Both the INS and the Tax system meet it 100%

Today you can spend your entire life trying to understand taxation. You will never completely understand it. The code never gets smaller only bigger. Think about the millions of people who's sole role in life is to push paper forms around.

Today your average INS worker will have refer to a manual to figure out many of the forms.

Today the you can thow all kinds of $ at the institution and they still have the same difficullty catching a terrorist. But they still ask for more money.

The goal of the IRS is to increase revenue any which way it can. Even if it means having an army of auditors search millions of Visa records.

Read the fine print on any published stock chart. It will always say something like:

Past Performance is not an Indication of Future Performance.

If you look at average gains since 1939 you can see that the stock market only outperformed bond market by a slight margin.

What is not know to most people is that the only real way to protect yourself is by purchasing a firewall hardware. www.linksys.com/Products

You can purchase these for under $100US these days which come in the form of a router with basic firewall capabilites. One example from LINKSYS is BEFSR41 which is a router with some switched ports. There are other manufactures that are just as good as well. The routers will also act as a basic firewall.

The problem with Software protection is that they still leave your PCs os open to hackers for exploitation. Even if I unknowingly open a security hole on my PC I am still protected.

Don't wast your time an money on software thay may or may not work. Best to buy a router and to buy some virus protection software to check your downloads and email.

I use yahoo because unlike AOL it is free unless I want a really big mail box. I have set up a number of business up using yahoo mail but even then they have a email designed for businesses so that you can manage your email accounts.

According to relativity you cannot travel the speed of light if you have mass. But lets assume you mean .999 the speed of light.

Interestily what relitiviy predicts is that you would see you tail lights function as normal. However the light from all the stars in front of you would be squished and you would they would see a shift to blue.Ligth from stars in the rear would appear to be streched out and would appear to be more red.

Unlike most star trek movies you would still see the stars appear to be relitively stationary. If astronomers are correct in saying that the the nearest start is many light years away that it would still take many years for you to pass that star while the surrounding starts would have moved so little you would hard pressed to notice.

Yes, maybe but from my point of view I worked for Three very large companies then I worked for three very small companies. Of the three last small companies. One started from 5 individuals and grew until it was about 200 then it was purchased by a company with 50,000 employess. Then I worke for another small company of about 350 employess. It ended up nearly going bankrupt and was purchused by GE. The lates company I worked for of some 800 person was also purchesed by GE.

I have worked for the last ten years and I have never and if the company was not over 20,000 employess in each case it was purchased by a larger company.

    I bet that he ties it up in the courts for the next year or two. Socks away at leat 100,000 in cash under his mattress. If he was sly enough his kids already have there colledge paid by putting investments in their names. He will prepay as many bills as he can and then;

He will declare bankrupcy. They will ensure that the equity in the house meets the requirements of bankrupcy so that they get to keep their house and car.

After a year of that he will be free an clear. Just a mortgage to pay and 100,000 in the bank just waiting to collect his annuity.

The only way to prevent this would be to charge him with fraud and show that his assest were obtained faudulently.

    Interesting,

I used to believe that I should be respectful and at least tolerant of gays and lesbians. This may have been in part as having to deal with some of them as co-workers.

But have you ever noticed that in almost their tendency to pervert anything that they do to express their gayness. I am talking about plays, art, parades and social events.

Here is just another example of a play which has no real story and no real point. But be guarenteed it has sexually explicit material and profanity. A play that exists for it's shock value and not for any profound insights or reflection or even humor.

It's seems to me that being Gay is not about having the unfortune of having a female mind and finding yourself in a male body but rather it seems to be a search for the ultimate sexual turn on. No limits and no boundries. Anything and everything goes.

    God help them.

Here is what I have done.

I got a unlisted phone number.

I phoned 1 888 567 8688 and got my name removed from the market list for pre-approved offers.

If someone asks me for my home phone I give them my cell number which has call display.

If someone asks for my SSN and I know they are not entitled to it. (Not an employer or the Gov) I make one up.

I burn all sensitive mail like credit card offers or anything that has my SSN on it.

If I have to send in a form other than my taxes and it asks for my SSN and I know they have it I write instead. ON FILE.

I have put a NO FLYERS sign on my mailbox.

If I get a call from telemarketers I demand that I be taken of their list.

I make extensive use of blocked address function on my Mail.

I do not use mail services like MSN which I do not trust. Ask you internet provider if they give you you email.

I alway check no for when asked if my email can be used for promotional offers.

Never, Never ,never reply to the sweepstakes offer you recieve in the mail.

Periodically I check my credit report.

"Normality Lives", that is part of what this website and other public news services are all about.

What happens when you question or investigate what is really going on is that you will find it to be rather unsettling. I suppose it is not unlike when you first realize Santa does not exist the older you get you begin to realize that the world is not the nice place that you thought. Have you ever heard a parent or elder say somehthing like "Life is Hard"? Have you ever wondered how could a high school kid can end up shooting his classmates. It is because he/she is feeling what your feeling.

But take heart in knowing that you are only one who shares these feeling of dispair. You are one of many, very many. Take pride in knowing that you are will not settle for lies and dishonesty.

America was built on the hopes and dreams of a better life. You can take your dispair and turn it into action. It can even be as simple as expressing your views to others. Talking about sensitives issues with the your children, family and friends. Make sure you vote. Don't hesitate to post an issue on the network. Write a letter to you political representative. Get involved in your community or church.

This sounds like a common criminal activity know as KITING. Only difference is that you not passing checks arround between banks but ranter subsiduary companies.

Any Executive who benifited from this is a CRIMINAL and should be in for 5 - 10 years.

However my predicion is that they will get a slap on the wrist as there are to many in high places that are in on this one.

I must say its a tough battle but the reality of the environmentalists, is that they do all the complaining and don't offer any real solutions.

The reality is that any activity we do has an impact on the environment and we should aim to minimize this and try to make sure the energy sources are sustainable.

I know some environmentalist personally and I have never known them to be practical. I can't even name one that does not have a hot shower in the morning to conserve some energy. Let us be the ones to come up with alternatives and put our foot down. I just don't think throwing in the towel and going to drill in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge is our best solution.

This is a point that most of us share. However, if you trade you SUV in say five years from now for an electric hybrid SUV that get 40mpg. You would probably be quite happy with that.

It is easy to make a case for conservation and implementing new technologies and my point is that we need to persue this avenue.

Just think of the number of homes or office tops that could be fitted with solar panels for the price of one natural gas electric generation facility.

Opening up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge for drilling is only a temporary solution. It can be managed effectvly so a not to minimize the impact on the environment there. But after this runs out then whats next?

We need to focus on conservation solutions and other alternatives: Wind Energy, Solar, and Electric Hybrid cars are all realities today. If high energy output is needed we can look to nuclear. Todays reactors are more safer today than ever.
