  • Dershowitz to Newsmax: Trump Needs to Fire His Lawyers

I’m surprised that Greta, who once was a highly regarded criminal defense attorney before she became a TV star during the OJ Simpson trial, didn’t ask Dershowitz exactly how in New York state courts defense counsel “preserve the record” on adverse decisions by the judge in a criminal trial. Have his attorneys properly made their 5th, 6th and 14th amendment arguments? If not, can they do so now by moving for a mistrial or for a judgment of acquittal notwithstanding the verdict filing a written motion and a memo of points and authorities?

Another guy who does a GREAT job on Newsmax is Chris Salcedo, the “Liberty Loving Latino”. He’s on at 4 pm and I’m usually working at that time so I don’t get to see him life very often, but I am really impressed with him. Carl Higbee is wonderful too.

Vanity had apparently had a marriage of convenience until his children graduated from high school and went off to college. He and his wife “amicably” divorced. Vanity and twice-divorced Ainsley Earhardt of Fox and Friends were rumored to be an item.

I don’t have an animus against Sean and I acknowledge that he has done a great service for conservatives over the decades starting with his sitting in for Rush starting circa 1989 and his programs involving debates with the late liberal Alan Colmes. I do resent that he uses his guests like props. The one guy who won’t let him do this is Mark Levin, who clearly has told him not to butt in when he is speaking. When you’ve got Alan Dershowitz on hand to discuss the day0t0-day nuts and bolts of trial practice, please do not interrupt and show your ignorance of the subject.

His acceptance to college is conditioned on him having received his HS diploma. He needs to sue, and, particularly, he needs to bring an action alleging that his civil rights have been violated under color of state law. 42 USC Sec. 1983.

His lawyer needs to make a demand of the Campbell County School Board that his diploma be delivered to him within 24 hours. If not, the lawsuit will be filed, and it will seek damages for intentional infliction of emotional distress, tortious interference with the student’s relationship with his college of choice, and punitive damages.

The person on Fox who disappoints me the most is Sean “Vanity”
Hannity. He gets great guests to be on his show, and he never lets them talk—either he gives never ending intros that eat up valuable time, or he cuts off people right as they are going to make a great point. He just can’t help himself. And he repeats the same stuff over and over and over. Laura Ingraham seems to have the same problems as Vanity, but her programs are more informative, and she has the great Raymond Arroyo as a recurring segment host.

I started watching Greg Kelly on Newsmax, and his programs are so much more informative and easy to watch and listen to than Vanity. I’m also a big Chris Plante fan, although the producers seem to have given Mercedes Schlapp a co-hosting role on “The Right Squad”.

The case was decided on procedural grounds. There was no discussion on the merits of Judge Merchan's clear conflicts of interest and his daughter's multi-million dollar enterprise.

The good news is that Trump can now appeal to the highest court in New York state, the New York Court of Appeals. IMHO he needs to ask for an emergency stay, as he will be irreparably harmed if the trial goes any further. If the NY Court of Appeals denies this, he could then go to the United States Supreme Court and ask it for a stay of proceedings pending the NY Court of Appeals making a merits decision on the petition to recuse.

  • Ohio governor calls special session to pass measure allowing Biden on November ballot

I live in Ohio. To compare DeWine to a pussy is to be unfair to a female orifice.

I sense the powers that be in Ohio want to make sure they’ve got powerful people in both parties in Washington. That is why they didn’t draw Bob Latta and Marcy Kaptur into the same district, even though they live 15 miles apart (Bowling Green and Toledo) and northwest Ohio should not have been gerrymandered to protect them. This same mentality goes to the Senate election here, where a lot of the establishment wants Sherrod Brown to win, even though he is a hammer and sickle boy from the old school. If Biden is not on the ballot, both Brown and Kaptur will lose in November in spectacular fashion. The ‘Rats will also lose Emilia Sykes in the 13th district (Akron/Summit County).

We need to elect a conservative in 2026. Maybe we can get someone like Brad Wenstrup. We also need to elect at least 50 conservatives to the state House of Representatives (we have 45; sadly, there are 22 repubicans and 32 ‘Rats who have a coalition that controls the Ohio House.

What is the relevance of the C-SPAN footage that the prosecution wants to admit into evidence? The corrupt judge has ruled that it is relevant, but Trump’s attorney won’t stipulate to it, arguing that it is hearsay (in a normal trial, the rules of evidence would require a sponsoring witness with knowledge of how it was photographed and what it represents) so there is something going on here.

I lived in Annapolis for 23 years, 1988-2011.

U think I drove over the Key Bridge fewer than 10 times during that period. I didn’t go over to eastern Baltimore County (Dundalk/Essex) much, and when I needed to go north I would go through the Harbor Tunnel (I-895), or, alternatively, cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and go up US 301 in the direction of Wilmington to link up with I-295 to cross the Delaware Memorial Bridge to get to the NJ Turnpike and New York City. I crossed the Key Bridge more out of curiosity; it just wasn’t convenient for me.

The train (Northeast Corridor) crosses the Patapsco River near BWI airport where it is narrow and non-navigable. There are two long causeways between Baltimore and the Susquehanna River that the train tracks use, and then a long cantilever bridge over the Susquehanna at Havre de Grace (parallel to the I-95 Millard Tydings bridge). The Key Bridge might be as much as 10 miles east of the northeast corridor.

I live in Ohio. I was appalled by this smear job, which I have associated with the Matt Dolan campaign (Dolan’s family owns the Cleveland Guardians baseball team). Dolan is a uniparty dullard who sits in the Ohio Senate but is termed out (I think) in 2026.

Dolan is Jeb! lite. He finished second yesterday, losing by 17 points. At least he can have the satisfaction that he is lower than a snake’s belly in a tractor tire rut. Good riddance!

  • Effective Republican Attorneys General Get Slapped With Politicized Ethics Charges

The problem is that in almost every state, the ‘Rats control the state Bar apparatus. Well over 50% of all attorneys are ‘Rats, and the plaintiff’s trial bar (think Jacoby & Meyers, Ashcraft & Gerel, Elk + Elk, etc.) are all Democrats.

Even though Indiana’s legislature and governor’s office are controlled by the GOP, it is hammer and sickle people like the ones who went after Todd Rokita who really hold awesome power. Rokita had to take the deal he did to avoid being disbarred (on phony charges).

What needs to happen is that the state legislature, and not the state bar, appoint members to the disciplinary commission, and that such members do not have to be attorneys. That, or amend the state constitution that makes the state AG immune from such complaints from the public, making the only way they are removed to be through the impeachment process.

I actually met Alex Mooney when he was a Maryland state senator; great guy and an authentic conservative. Just after graduating from college he got a job on the staff of Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R-MD 6). He was elected to the MD Senate from Frederick County; as I recall the ‘Rats in Annapolis changed his district’s boundaries and he got put in the same district with another GOP state senator, and Alex lost the primary.

Alex then moved 25 miles west of Frederick to Charles Town, West Virginia and won the House seat which was vacated by Shelly Moore Capito when she moved up to the Senate. WV then lost a district in the 2021 reapportionment, and he was in a GOP primary against David Underwood, who represented the northern third of WV in the House. Mooney knocked off Underwood and then won the general handily.

Like another poster said, Justice would be good but Mooney would be better.

    Great post.

I’d be surprised if you will see a decision in Fischer before June.

As for the DC Circuit case on presidential immunity, I am speculating that it will be a 2-1 decision to deny immunity, with Judge Karen LeCraft Henderson dissenting. She is probably carefully crafting her dissent, which she will send to the two judges in the “majority” who will then edit their draft opinion to respond to the points made by Judge Henderson. This takes time. I actually have a lot of confidence in Judge Henderson, who was appointed by Bush 41 and has served on the DC Circuit for over 30 years. She has a lot of integrity and wisdom. Her opinion is the one to watch, as it could well and truly form the basis for the opinion of the Supreme Court majority.

As far as people rotting in jail are concerned, the failure of even one judge somewhere to grant habeas corpus is outrageous. Many of these people have been held longer than whatever the sentence would be if this was something other than a kangaroo court or a Volksgerichthof-type proceeding.

I’ve shopped in this particular Walmart, which is just a few yards over the state line from Indiana Toll Road Exit 121 (SR 9, Howe/Lagrange). Lagrange County, Indiana is over 50% Amish.

That someone would do this to an Amish family is to be lower than a snake’s belly in a tire rut.
