    Sound and Fury.

Spend an hour listening to Wecht,.... oh well I haven't posted here in years, now I remember why. I won't try to convince you. Just the many others, that as a 52 year resident of Pgh, and much experience with Wecht, He would shred you in a debate.

Cyril Wecht would disagree with you.

The renowned pgh pathologist, has just sponsored a symposium
    and new evidence was revealed.

I'll believe Wecht and his first hand knowledge anytime over the typewriter warriors.

I read Chapman often. He certainly doesn't pull any punches. The Canadian has been destroyed lately and if there is any blip in gold, the C$ should do quite well. at .6281 now the c$ looks fairly safe. .6240 has held very strong support for the life of the march contract.

    your observations make good sense.

after conversations with Jim Sanders and looking at the mountain of evidence he collected on TWA 800, any thinking individual would conclude 800 was downed by missile fire.

The CIA cartoon of a fictional 3,000ft zoom climb was so quickly discredited it was then played down by the NTSB. The video tape of the NTSB hearing with Dr. Maier (sp) bantering back to Jim Hall comes across as not just gross misrepresentation, but absolute lying.

I would tend to believe a local Policeman and a local fireman who were trained eye-witnesses long before I would bevieve an agency that has an agenda to protect and has been proven to be disingenuos in prior investigations.

    some excerpts from Robert Chapman

The US is busy lining up a successor to the Taliban to rule Afghanistan. He is Afghanistan’s former king, Mohammad Zahir Shah, who has met with the UN in Rome. He is 87 and has lived in Rome since his ouster in 1973.

The New York Mercantile Exchange’s $240 million in gold and silver still hasn’t been removed from the remains of the WTC. It consists of 379,036 ounces of gold in 100-ounce bars worth $100 million and $140 million in silver bars.

Tourist spending in Florida has dropped $20 million a day or by 1/3rd since the NYC tragedy. At that rate the $50 billion a year industry could drop to $33 billion if tourism continues at this level. It would be devastating for the state if that were to happen, especially in the Miami and Orlando areas.

As the economy spirals downward the number of credit card accounts overdue at least 30-days on 9/21/01 rose to 3.93% from 2.99% in the quarter, and 2.99% for the same period last year. The previous high was in 1996 when it hit 3.72%. The tax rebates and home refinancing haven’t made a dent in debt. The consumer delinquency ratio for closed-end consumer loans rose to 2.51% from 2.4% in the first quarter. It was 2.30% in the same quarter of 2000.

The government and aviation officials are poised to begin using facial recognition systems to scan airports for suspected terrorists and, of course, everyone else. This destroys our rights to privacy. We should not be forced to trade our civil liberties for increased security and give up our rights to due process. This and the ID card will totally enslave our country.

Consumer confidence hit its lowest level in six years and took the largest monthly point drop since before the Gulf War. It sank to 97.6 in September from 114.0 in August. There is now no question the terrorist attack undermined public confidence. Second quarter bankruptcies are up 45.6% in Iowa, 42.1% in Ohio, 40.4% in Nevada, 36.8% in Oregon and 36.4% in Arkansas. The best or lower end was 10.6% in Hawaii, 13.2% in Connecticut, 13.2% in Rhode Island, 14.4% in Alaska and 14.4% in California.

We are appalled that the public is so easily fooled. They are told we need I.D. cards to stop terrorism. They will be as easy to counterfeit as any other form of I.D. What they want is a national database so they can punitively use the cards when they wish. If they don’t like what we write they’ll pull our cards. Digital face scanning is a scam so manufacturers of the hardware and software can get rich. Having the Federal government take our security at airports will create hundreds of thousand new federal jobs we can pay for and they’ll mess that up like they mess everything else up. Just more Gestapo to stop, search, detain an arrest. They want to monitor phone calls and emails to stop terrorism. All they want to do is cancel our right to free speech and our rights under the Constitution. Of course, they want to detain anyone who disagrees with them. We are also told we should forgive debts of poor foreign nations in order to help stop terrorism. If we bribe and arm all those who owe us money they’ll just continue the way they have been and allow Uncle Sucker to pay the bills. All we are doing is prolonging the agony. These are not the answers. They are part of the problem.

Our president, bonesman George W. Bush, wants a sweeping expansion of government surveillance and investigative authority, so he and the elitist crowd can have cradle to grave control over our lives. If they get what they seek enforcement and intelligence agencies will have to hire hundreds of thousands of people just to service the overwhelming data. We don’t see why the FBI and CIA will be any more effective than they have been in the past, in spite of additional intelligence.

What the president, many in congress and other elitists propose is control over our lives. The bang on the door at 3:00 a.m. and a warrant less search, the jailing to shut up dissenters. Next come trumped up charges and trips to concentration camps. This is not far fetched. History is replete with instances of passage of strict laws, which end up in totalitarian government. The House Judiciary has already rejected an attempt to allow US prosecutors to use evidence collected by foreign governments in a manner that violated US law. The most notorious of punitive legislation was the 1940 Smith Act, which was a legal alien registration act, which led to the registration of communists.

Mr. Bush wants to widen the 1978 anti-espionage act giving them power to loosen restrictions or wiretaps and surveillance in a potentially wide array of criminal cases, which means anyone they please. Most of the proposals are un-American and unconstitutional. Our problem is the final analysis is these people should have never been allowed in the country in the first place if they were known accomplices of Osama bin Laden. We should review all of these admitted aliens and we should export all the illegal ones. We should also ask ourselves why our government has spent hundreds of millions of dollars attempting to destroy Bill Gates and virtually nothing over the past 10 years to short circuit Osama bin Laden? We think it is pretty obvious.

The Swiss National Bank will sell another 283 tons of gold through Sept. 2002. They still have 980 tons left to sell from an earmarked 1,300 tons. It fits within the Washington Agreement. Now you can see why Alan Greenspan was at the BIS in Basel last week. This is why Alan Greenspan and Robert Rubin are having secret meetings with Congress. All of Washington knows what is going on and every politician knows if the gold manipulation scam is exposed the whole financial system is coming down. That is why they won’t pursue an investigation. It doesn’t make any difference, because by June the whole conspiracy will come unraveled. Long-time gold bear, Andy Smith of Mitsui Global Precious Metals, says, "He is looking for a very large, probably delayed but possible sustained rise in gold prices."

  • Gold falls on increased lending of metal

    robnoel and all,

southhack is either mis-informed or is deliberately misleading. The market in gold coins from SA, Krug, Canada maple leaf, Austria Philharmonic, US Eagles, Austrailia Kangaroos, is well defined and very orderly, the LME London metals exchange sets gold bullion prices twice daily. These are prices for one ounce of gold whether in a Coin of a Soverign or in a cerified bar of numerous denominations. Gold bullion that was recently sold from the bank of england in their regularly scheduled auctions was sold to the LOWEST average bidder. These gold bars were not melted down, and regarless what southhack may say the assay and authenticity marks are not easily counterfeited. A host of precious metal dealers make markets in 1 ounce bullion coins. They normally offer to buy your coins at the spot price depending on time of day New York or London.

Gold is very liquid. One can call Blanchard at 9:00 AM tomorrow and sell at the spot hundreds of thousand of dollars in non numismatic, non plastic cased gold coins.

The COMEX trades gold futures and options. If you hold a futures contract in the near (delivery) month you may take delivery of certified gold bars. Each contract is for 100 ounces. You can take delivery of the physical metal or for a small fee it can be stored at the Comex wharehouse.

Why would anyone want to deposit gold coins in the bank?

The gold eagle is a US legal tender coin with a face value of $50.00. Why would I deposit a coin with the intrinsic value of $300.00 for a credit of $50.00 in FIAT currency.

Southhacks entire reasoning of gold being fiat and dollars being intrinsic, defies logic.

    Southhack,

If you hate the metal so much, I have a great idea for you.

Call up your broker and short some December 2001 gold. or better yet short some Feb 2002 $300 calls.

If you are right they will expire worthlessly and you will collect a very handsome premium. or you could short newmont mining or barrick.
