This reminds me of high school days. An Irish friend, known for fighting got into a scuffle with one from a neighboring town. They squared off. John stated: Don’t hit me in the nose; it’s already broken. Jeepers, what do you think happened? Well, Tom put John on the ground with a rebroken nose.
How on earth can one country give another weapons with restrictions?
I worked on a pressure test facility at the Navel Postgraduate School in Monterey while employed by MBARI in the ‘90s. They had a shell from a 16 inch gun (USS Iowa type) It had ‘China Lake’ stenciled on the side. The pointy end had been replaced with a plug. Curt Collins ran Oceanography at NPS and was on the board at MBARI and said that if I refurbished the equipment, we could use it. We both won. The chamber was about 9 1/2” in dia and about 4 feet long. Got it up to around 4000 psi. The PhD candidates I mentored also got privileges on the golf course. The end.
Had another (walk on) cat that dropped a live mouse on my sleeping face in the middle of the night. He was incredulous when I immediately grabbed it and spiked on the concrete floor.
Don lives in Colorado (Broomfield) and was recommended by a Colorado senator if I recall. He graduated from West Point on the Hudson. Long way from C. Springs.
Had a cat that enjoyed night hunts. His joy was to bring mice and rats in through the cat door, let them loose and watch me go nuts. Other than that he was a great cat.
