I survived because my dad saved my life. I was 33 at the time and had no health problems, but my dad was having health related issues that his doctors could not figure out. My siblings and I wanted my dad to get a full body scan just to make sure that nothing was out of the ordinary. He did not want to do it.

Once I told him that the scan would include a virtual colonoscapy and how it was performed as opposed to the regular way, he was more receptive. He finally agreed, but only if I had a full body scan at the same time.

It turned out he was fine and that the scan found something in my kidney. I didn’t think anything of it and scheduled another scan with contrast dye thinking it would turn out to be nothing since I had no symptoms at all. That scan found a 2.5 cm enhancing tumor.

Long story short, the first surgery to remove the tumor had positive margins and not wanting to risk it, I flew to the Cleveland Clinic and had the nephrectomy performed by Dr. Novick who was one of if not the top expert in RCC. His death last year was a great loss to those who have or had kidney cancer!!

There is a difference between Radiation Therapy and RadioSurgery which from what you posted seems like the current cyberknife treatment which is very promising for all types of tumor resection.

Appartently she forgot to tell Obama she served in the US Marines for 4 years!! Oh wait, wouldn't that qualify her for Veterans Health Insurance?? The news story below from April 21, 2009, my birthday by coincidence I am sure also neglects to say what kind of cancer she supposedly had or has!! Please show me the study or medical journal that states

“even in the the 80’s and 90’s with less effective doses, patients were occasionally treated with radiation, and some were cured, albeit, probably less than 25%.”

I have been researching RCC since 2006 and have not found a single study that shows what you have stated above for the treatment of RCC in the kidney as opposed to other RCC sites in the body it has spread to.

I agree with everything that you have written and have not stated otherwise. The key here is that radiation therapy has shown effectiveness for RCC, but when it has mestasized to other parts of the body, not in the primary location of the RCC in the kidney. As I quoted in my original post, there is a recent study that uses a specific type of radiation therapy that has shown effectiveness in treating primary RCC, but these are new studies. This so called Exhibit A is referring back to 1998 and is claimimg that she was treated for primary RCC in her kidney with radiation therapy which is unbelievable and would go against the scientific data for this disease.

Maybe you did not watch the video, here is the link again to her statement. She says, although with the voice of someone reading a cue card, that she was diagnosed with Renal Cell Carcinoma!!

She did not say she was diagnosed with kidney cancer and therefore meant to say some other cancer, she specifically said Renal Cell Carcinoma which to me is specific enough to demonstrate her false statements.

This does a disservice to all of us. I can't tell you how many people thought I did not have cancer because my hair did not fall out due to radiation. Most people, myself included thought all cancers were treated the same and did not know kidney cancer was any different until we were effected.

Now this person is out there telling the world that her Renal Cell Carcinoma was treated with Radiation Therapy which is counterproductive to those of us trying to inform others that we did not go through radiation therapy for kidney cancer because it does not work for this type of cancer.

You can try to sugar coat it all you want, but science and proven facts are what they are and this is outrageous and the kidney cancer association should make a statement to set the record straight in my opinion.

Today a Northern California woman is facing the possibility of years in prison on drug possession and child endangerment charges after she was turned in by her own son.

According to police, she had abused drugs for years.

But, when her son saw her allegedly giving heroin to his younger sister, he decided to take drastic action. This story from NBC’s Dan Lothian.

It’s an unusual case of reverse discipline.

Seventeen-year-old James Cummings using a video camera to bust his mom for allegedly using and selling drugs right inside their home.

Mr. JAMES CUMMINGS: Basically its the last—last step that I can think of before she ends up killing herself or somebody else with the selling of them.

LOTHIAN: In this Fort Bragg, California, neighborhood, Cummings says he got tired of witnessing his mother’s drug use over several years. And then the final straw, mom allegedly supplying his 14-year-old sister with heroin.

With a little ingenuity, Cummings installed a miniature video camera in an electrical socket and wired it into his bedroom where he could operate it by remote control and record his mother.

Forty-year-old Aura Rae Johansen eventually discovered her son’s secret, became angry, and destroyed some of the tapes. Cummings says, fearing for his life he called police, who arrested his mother a little more than a week ago.

Later inside the house, investigators recovered some of the videotapes with plenty of compelling evidence. Police say they were impressed with Cummings’ courage.

Lieutenant TONY CRAVER (Fort Bragg Sheriff’s Department): There’s not a bit of malice in this kid’s heart.

There’s not a—not a malicious bone in his body. Everything he did to his—was done to help his mother.

LOTHIAN: While some family members were reportedly upset with the 17-year-old’s undercover work, this community of some 5700 people seems to be supportive.

Unidentified Woman: It would be hard for me to put my mom in jail for, like, doing drugs, I mean, wouldn’t want to, but if it was to help my family and help my lov—my loved ones, I definitely would.

LOTHIAN: And Cummings is having no second thoughts.

Mr. CUMMINGS: Well, as long as it can work out to the final result that she’s off drugs and my sister, too, then everything that happens is fine with me.

LOTHIAN: Cummings and his sister are now living with their father. Johansen has been released from jail on $75,000 bail.

They would have done it already. The entire MSM has sat on this story and basically buried it. They didn’t do that for the Republicans benefit and this whole things would have fit in with that DHS report perfectly if they could have pulled it off.

When you are making a Dirty Bomb, it would definitely would be a massive heat source to disperse the radioactive material I would think, especially if it was used like this.<.a>

The hypocrisy of the Left is just amazing. This may have been the incident which was originally supposed to be in that DHS report when it was leaked that would have been explosive. The incident was going to report that a wealthy version Timothy McVeigh had planned to try and harm President Obama with a Dirty Bomb during his inauguration.

The problem was that while the he was a white supremacist, he wasn’t from the far right, but rather was more likely from the far Left!! So because of this little flaw in the story, a major terrorist threat from our own backyard was never reported in the MSM except in Maine where it happened. This was probably due an FBI intelligence report had been leaked to wiki-leaks with all of the details including that the terrorist was a Socialist.

The DHS leaked document would have made perfect sense had this information from the FBI been included and had Cummings been a right wing extremist. Maybe someone relized that a Socialist from the right wing republican party might not go over so well (IE Too Unbelievable), so it was hastily removed.

2. Affirmative Acts of Others and Governor Palin's Responsibility For Them.

A. The Branchflower Report Misinterpreted and Misapplied the Ethics Act in Concluding that Governor Palin Abused Her Power in Violation of the Law Through Her "Inaction."

Having determined that the few affirmative actions described above by the Governor did not violate the Ethics Act, the next question to be addressed is whether any violation of the Ethics Act can be attributed to the Governor for failing to curtail the acts of others. Suggestion has been made in the Branchflower Report that the acts of others, which the Branchflower Report asserts the Governor knew or should have known about (citing AS 39.25.900), make out a case for violation of AS 39.52.11O(a). AS 39.52.110(a) is a statute entitled "Scope of code." The Branchflower Report concludes that because of the Governor's inaction in failing to stop certain conduct, she has violated the section entitled "Scope of Code."

Reliance upon AS 39.52.110(a) as a basis for concluding the Governor violated the Ethics Act is legally flawed under any set of facts. It ignores basic statutory construction. The purpose Section 110 was intended to serve, when read in accordance with its legislative history, and in pari materia with the other sections of the Act, was to provide interpretive insight into the construction of other sections of the Act which set forth the elements that can form the basis for a substantive accusation under the Act.

Statutes are structured and organized into various parts, which serve as categories for provisions that are similar in nature or have some logical relationship to other provisions in the same category or seeking to regulate the same kinds of conduct.25 The substantive sections of a statutory scheme set forth the rights, powers, privileges and immunities ( or prohibitions) or confer power? It is common that related statutes which are part of the same act or chapter contain other provisions that state more general legislative intent or are interpretation aids.

Preambles to statutes are not considered substantive but are explanatory and therefore do not determine rights, create duties or confer power.21 A preamble to an act, such as the Ethics Act, does not enlarge the scope or effect of its substantive parts and is limited to being used as a guide in construing or clarifying other ambiguous sections or stating overall legislative intent.28 Section 11O(a) is clearly not substantive and may not be properly used to provide the basis for determining rights, creating duties or enlarging the scope of the Act's substantive parts. The non-substantive provisions, such as Section 11O(a) are there to provide context, reasons for a legislative bill's enactment, and state policy. Specifically, Section 11O(a) is in the Ethics Act is, by its terms, to describe the intended scope of the legislation.

The Ethics Act is divided into various categories, each represented by a different article. See AS 39.52.010 - .965. Article I consists of a single section that communicates the Act's statement of policy as its title, "Declaration Policy" states. AS 39.52.010. Article 2, which is entitled "Code of Ethics" begins with Section 110(a). Section 110 is the very first section in the code and, as its title suggests, is intended to provide a scope explanatory note, containing explanation of legislative intent and purpose, as to how succeeding substantive prohibitions and provisions are to be interpreted.

Though the section may contain some mixed language suggesting a more substantive role for the provision, the section by section legislative history removes any doubt that Section 110 was not intended to define a substantive prohibition. The Ethics Act was before the legislature as SB 391. The sponsor's sectional analysis to Section 110 stated the following:

Sec. 39.52.110. Scope of Code. To clarify the intent behind .the code of ethics, this section describes its scope. One of the major criticisms heard is that it is difficult to get qualified people to serve in public office. This section of the bill makes clear that the legislature, in enacting the code of ethics, recognizes in a representative democracy, which draws its public officers from society, that those officers cannot and should not be without personal or financial stake in Alaska, so long as those private interests do not interfere with the full and faithful discharge for the officer's public responsibilities. Additionally, this section clarifies the intent to distinguish between those minor and insignificant conflicts that are unavoidable in our free society and those conflicts that are substantial and material and must be prohibited. Sectional Analysis ofC.S.S.S.S.B 391 (SA) am, 14th Leg. 2nd Sess., at 1 (1986) (emphasis added).

Thereafter, the substantive provisions of the Code of Ethics itself proceed, wherein the elements of eight specific violations are described in the succeeding sections. The sectional analysis of Section 110 describes its relationship to the rest of the Code by stating that, though the Code is to be interpreted consistent with Section 110, the individual prohibitions beginning with AS 39.52.120 and ending with AS 39.52.190 are the "stem prohibitions on conduct.,,29 The sectional analyses that accompany the legislation describe in detail the eight types of ethical violations in the Act and does not reference AS 39.52.110 among them.

The Branchflower Report relies exclusively on Section IIO(a) to justify a substantive violation of the Ethics Act on the basis of inaction by the Govemor30 The legal analysis of the Branchflower Report finding that the Governor violated AS 39.52.I10(a) is flawed since as a matter of law, a public official or employee cannot directly violate Section 110( a). A claim of violation (an accusation in Personnel Board parlan~e) must be based instead upon one of the eight specific prohibitions passed by the legislature. The actus reus required for a violation cannot be based upon explanatory legislative intent provisions.

The controversial self-appointed ''diplomat'' Sammy Korir has presented himself as President Moi's personal envoy in Norway for several years, reports Norwegian newspaper 'Aftenposten'. Mr Korir has a flair for using other titles as Under-Secretary of State (Assistant Minister), General Manager and Corporate Vice-President. He has been charged with fraud in Norway on several occasions.

In 1980-81 Mr Korir was charged with grand embezzlement but the case was dropped when evidence got burnt in the office. Mr Korir reported that the cause of fire was a copying machine which had exploded. County official, Mr Sverre Oppdahl, in Karasjok reports that there were other reports against Mr Korir concerning money frauds.

Mr Korir is a former district officer for Makadara division in Nairobi. He left the civil service to become the director of the deregistered Kenya Private Education Services which operated along Kenyatta Avenue. He collected money from poor Kenya students promising to send them to overseas for further studies but instead he embezzled the funds. He was arrested and charged in a court of law for stealing 3,000 shillings belonging to the students. He jumped bail and fled to Oslo, Norway. The government would like to state quite clearly that whatever Mr Korir is doing in Norway has nothing to do with the Kenya government. Mr Korir knows pretty well that he is a wanted criminal in Kenya to answer fraud charges. The people of Norway must be very careful in dealing with him.

I haven't quite yet figured out why or who put African Press International "so called" editor up to writing the fake Michelle Obama story or if he is just plain nuts and/or has a grudge against Kenya. The following story from 1987 though has shed some light on this shady character.

GOVERNMENT CONTACTING GENOCIDE FINANCIER 'SECRETLY' - AGENCY


About a week ago Norway-based online agency African Press International (API) published the much publicized interview with suspected Rwandan Genocide financer Mr. Felicien Kabuga.


Government of Rwanda and the UN tribunal for Rwanda are believed to have been caught off-guard - suddenly that a man with a $5million bounty on his head surfaces in an interview seeking to surrender to Rwanda. RNA put the different issues that the interview has raised to API Chief-Editor Kipter Korir, and below are the excerpts in which he reveals that government is secretly seeking to contact the man they have hunted for years.


Mr. Kipter Korir, could you just describe the circumstances leading up to the much publicized interview with Rwandan Genocide fugitive Felicien Kabuga and how you managed to secure it anyway.


Many media outlets and other institutions have treated our story on Kabuga and his presence in Norway at the time of interview with caution. It is not difficult to understand why many find it difficult to see the real picture in all that has happened, the fact that API met Mr Kabuga and even managed to secure an interview. Mr Kabuga travelled to Sweden in an effort to meet an elderly Sudanese man who is refugee in that country. While in that country, he discovered that the man he was looking for was not there. He managed, one way or another, to get information that a South Sudanese delegation led by the South Sudan President Salva Kiir was going to be in Norway for a conference.


It was at that time Mr Kabuga chose to travel to Oslo hoping the old man he was looking for in Sweden had found his way to Norway to meet his colleagues from South Sudan.


As things turned out, the Sudanese old man was not in Norway but had travelled to South Sudan. Those close to Kabuga, who met him in Norway, directed him to API's Chief Editor who happens to be a friend to the Sudanese old man. After discussions on what Mr Kabuga wanted, the parties agreed on an interview on condition, API assisted Kabuga to connect with the Sudanese old man and another man of Ugandan origin now resident in the UK, so that the two men may initiate talks with the Rwanda Government for the purposes of reaching an agreement on a conditional surrender. Both men are close contacts of API's Chief Editor.


The ICTR and Rwanda government are treating your purported interview with Mr. Kabuga as a 'hoax'. There does not seem to be anything tangible evidence to back up the interview.


API has noted that several media outlets have focused on the behaviour of the ICTR and the Rwanda government on how they have reacted to the story. As a media outlet, API does not go around distributing prove to institutions in order that those who read API articles may believe what is being written.


The Rwanda government and the ICTR has the opportunity to get in touch with API and find out the truth. The Rwanda government could have been satisfied if the Minister for Justice had taken contact and received the document that is supposed to be handed over to him in an effort to find ways and means to start talking.


When the government categorically spells out publicly that they will not talk to Kabuga, while at the same time allowing their embassy to engage in secret contacts, such public move by the government serves to destroy the spirit of the intended talks. The government should have taken time to receive the document containing important information, thereafter decide whether or not to engage in formal talks.


By doing so, the government will be showing a will to listen to Kabuga's story and make a fair judgement on whether to accept his conditions or not.


Mr. Kabuga has rarely spoken in the media directly, the only journalist who met him died later, how would he have trusted you?


API has noted that some media outlets do not have time for Kabuga because he has been accused of genocide. And yet many people tend to say an accused person is innocent until proven guilty. API has been contacted by many media outlets and other international government branches who emphasize that the only journalist who met Kabuga in Kenya died later. As far as API is concerned, nobody has come forward with clear evidence that the journalist who died was killed by Kabuga. API has understood that the murdered journalist had plans to lure Kabuga to a police trap. API has no intention to lure any accused person or persons to police traps. API will remain professional in interviews and will not be party to colluding with others to net people being searched for by any international body.


This, however, does not mean API condones any form of crimes, be it genocide or any other. We are now dealing with a man who has decided to reach out and surrender. The fact that API has become the only media to break the story does not make the story to be a hoax as some would like to have it fall into that category. Many have asked how Kabuga could have trusted API. This only leads API to believe that some have taken the narrow path that has led to underestimate Mr Kabuga. API chooses to believe that a man who has managed to hide for many years, having many friends, and buying his way for safe hiding, knows when to trust and who to trust depending on the place and timing.


Anybody that has tried to blackmail him into a trap has seen their fate. Surely, if you met Mr. Kabuga you must be very scared?


Kabuga has been accused of genocide in Rwanda. Some who have followed the genocide stories in Rwanda are saddened. And yet they must not forget that every story has two sides. Kabuga has decided to surrender because he wants to tell his side of the story to the Rwanda government. If he is guilty, it does not mean that everyone he meets has to fear for his life. API has reported a story as it is and has no reason to be afraid of the man because API has not misreported the facts. And API has not in any way held in its map to blackmail Mr Kabuga, but just to pass on the message on the request for talks geared to a conditional surrender.


The ICTR says the purported interview is just meant to disorganize its search that has been focused on Kenya to indicate that he is not there, so they are not taking the assertion that he is in Oslo seriously.


API has noted that ICTR is relaxed on the issue because they are of the opinion that Mr Kabuga is in Kenya and not Norway. Every institution has the right to believe or not, any given information at any given time. API goes by the correctness of the interview and will publicise more information on the issue when the Rwanda government decides to take the matter more seriously.


One of the last articles says Rwanda had expressed interest to move forward with possible negotiations with Mr. Kabuga. But officials here are not saying anything to that effect. How true can the public be about what you publish?


In our articles, API has categorically stated that Kabuga is not in Kenya. API has also stated that Rwanda has expressed goodwill to start the talks. API appreciates the move and thanks the Embassy of Rwanda in Belgium for taking great interest in the story and by negotiating a way to meet and get evidence on what Kabuga is presenting, all in the effort to start the talks in one of the Scandinavian countries. The communication with the embassy will soon bear fruit because, as API understands it, the participant is mandated by the Government to proceed.


From your meeting with Mr. Kabuga, how would you describe him?


On seeing Kabuga, one notices he is a tired man. It is, however, not difficult to understand that he means what he says when he now wants to go back home. His health seems to dictate the day to day program when it comes to his activities. The man is now aged and he expresses sadness for what happened to his country in 1994.


Some observers are saying the timing of your articles is very suspicious: just after the Kenyan ruling; before the ICTR is to report to the UN Security Council. The suspicion is that somebody is behind it all and you are just doing their job. Don't you think there is some reason in all this?


This is a serious matter that concerns many institutions and people. Due to the fact that Mr Kabuga is the most wanted man, and that he has not given interviews since going into hiding, has led many people to be suspicious on the timing of the articles. To think or even imagine that the timing has any hidden agenda is uncalled for, and primitive, because the interview is not one API was aware of in advance that it was going to take place. It was only after being contacted for a meeting in connection with the search for the Sudanese old man, whom Mr Kabuga wanted to meet in Oslo, that API requested for the interview and was reluctantly granted with conditions.


The ICTR wants to believe that Kabuga is in Kenya, because the institution will soon report on Kenya to the UN Security Council and the Council members may decide to impose sanctions on Kenya. having been accused of giving refuge to Kabuga. API is not in a position to change the ICTR's way of looking at things, because they have their own machinery, and if their machinery confirms to them that Kabuga is hiding in Kenya, that remains to be seen when the man resurfaces one way or another. I have discovered something that has made me question the purpose of this sudden API posting. It may be a diversion to draw our attention to the adoption and away from the Kenya Birth Certificate. Let me explain why I have come to this conclusion.


This is not the first once in a lifetime interview API and their Editor Kipter Korir has had the good fortune of writing about in recent months. A few months ago, API and Korir surprised the world with the interview Mr. Felicien Kabuga, a 14 year fugitive on the run for financing the Genocide in Rwanda back in 1994.


That interview was widely held to be a hoax, but it was never proven a hoax because none of the parties who wanted him arrested contacted API to accept his "Evidence" to make a deal.


This interview was the first time any story written by API was found in the Lexis database. The same is true on a search of the editor's lastname.


I then did a wayback archive search on the url for the API blog. The first postings were created in 2006 and their name at that time was APN for African Press Norway.


The reason Kenya gets brought into the picture is because Mr. Felicien Kabuga was living with his wife in Kenya for all that time. He owned extensive pieces of property in Kenya and was protected by the Kenyan police.


This information was revealed because of the API interview which supposedly occurred in Norway. This information caused the UN to Sanction Kenya and the blame was placed on the legally elected President of Kenya as opposed to Odinga, Obama's guy, cousin, or thug who by the way caused over 1800 deaths after he lost the election. More would have probably died if he wasn't appointed to lead Kenya jointly with the elected President.


At the same time that the APN/API came into existence, Obama took a trip to Kenya where he critizised the Kenyan President to help elect Odinga. Corsi confirmed this information on his recent trip and also authenticated a document that outlined the Odinga strategy to get elected.


That document also listed contributors to the campaign which includes a $950,000 contribution from Friends of Senator BO.


Even worse, it describes the actions that the campaign needed to take in the event they were going to lose and they did,


Ethnic Tensions/Violence as a last Resort


1. Prepare ground for rejection of Unfavourable results


2.Increase interest in monitoring activities to ensure no rigging happens


3. Deflect attention from ourselves should opportunities be available to manipulate voter turnout in our green areas to discourage voter participation in hostile areas


4. Use ODM agents on the ground to engineer ethnic tensions in target areas


The result, Odinga got half of what he wanted and over 1800 people are now dead.


Now, the question is how does this fit in with Michelle Obama interview. If API is a resource that the Obama's control, they would use it to their advantage. API has already been involved in a similar interview that was never proven or disproven and that one has already been 4 months.


The Obama's only need three weeks to string this along. In the meantime, they have focused our attention on the Adoption issue and away from the Kenya Birth Certificate issue and when the time is just right, they are going to pull the rug out from under us.


The API website story will be proven false and the Republicans will be made to look like racists for wanting to believe that Michelle Obama could say such things.

FINANCE: Reviving the RFC?

It's a nightmare that shakes economists awake in a cold sweat: a big corporation goes bust because of a liquidity squeeze and this sets off a chain of events that turns a recession into a crushing depression. As the recession deepened last week, the illiquidity fear was very real.

Thus, a number of powerful and diverse voices - including William McChesney Martin Jr., former Federal Reserve chairman; Felix G. Rohatyn, the New York investment banker; Henry Ford II; Frazar B. Wilde, chairman emeritus of Connecticut General Life Insurance Co. (opposite page), and the Democratic Party leadership - were pushing a controversial remedy to avert an economic calamity. They were calling for the revival of the long-defunct Reconstruction Finance Corp., which bailed out thousands of banks, railroads and businesses during the Depression through massive loans and investments. Congress killed the RFC in 1954 amid charges that it had been swayed by favoritism and political influence when making loans.

Proponents of a new RFC say that the agency is needed because corporations are overburdened with debt at a time when sources of capital are drying up and the economy is slumping. They argue that there is simply no way for many financially troubled corporations to get needed capital unless it comes from a source - such as a new RFC - that does not now exist.

Many opponents of a latter-day RFC assail it as socialistic and a bail-out for big business. Other critics warn that such an agency, drawing its funds from the U.S. Treasury, would simply worsen the country's economic woes by fueling inflation. Still others question whether the agency is needed. They note that most of the RFC's old lending functions have been taken over by the Small Business Administration, Department of Agriculture, Federal National Mortgage Association and other government agencies.

According to investment banker Henry Kaufman of New York's Salomon Brothers, the main beneficiaries would be big corporations that have been poorly managed and have run up big losses. He questions whether such firms deserve to be helped. SBD
