At around 10:45 p.m., D.C. police said they responded to the intersection of 15th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Northwest, D.C. for reports of a crash. When they arrived, they located a man and pronounced him dead on the scene.

BLACK smoke enveloped the Lincoln Memorial after a vehicle fire broke out about five miles from the monument. Plumes from the crash hang over the National Mall, but the fire has been extinguished, according to DC Fire and EMS. Two suspects, a male and a female, are in the custody of D.C. police after an officer-involved shooting in the southeast part of Washington.
