A lead United Nations agency overseeing food and agriculture policy is expected to issue a road map in the coming weeks which will call on the West, including America, to dramatically reduce its meat consumption. The UN's Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) will publish its so-called global food systems’ road map during the upcoming COP28 climate summit in Dubai which will kick off on Thursday and extend nearly two weeks until mid-December. FAO's first-of-its-kind document will recommend nations that "over-consume meat" to limit their consumption as part of a broader effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Bloomberg reported.

World leaders should declare a “climate emergency” in their countries to spur action to avoid catastrophic global warming, UN Secretary-General António Guterres said in opening remarks at a climate summit on Saturday. On the fifth anniversary of the 2015 Paris Agreement, more than 70 world leaders are due to address the one-day virtual meeting in the hope of galvanizing countries into stricter actions on global warming emissions. Guterres said that current commitments across the globe did not go “far from enough” to limit temperature rises. “Can anybody still deny that we are facing a dramatic emergency?” Guterres said. “That is...

Israel took no steps to comply with a Security Council call to stop all settlement activity in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, and instead authorized “a high rate” of settlement expansions in violation of international law, the United Nations said Friday. U.N. envoy Nickolay Mladenov told the council the large number of settlement announcements and legislation action by Israel indicate “a clear intent to continue expanding the settlement enterprise in the occupied Palestinian territory.” […] Mladenov, the U.N. special coordinator for the Middle East peace process, reiterated that the United Nations “considers all settlement activities to be illegal under...

"Human rights" panel accuses American police of being modern-day lynchers.Just when you thought the United Nations could not sink any lower, a UN panel has issued a report recommending that the United States pay “reparations” to African-Americans for its “legacy of colonial history, enslavement, racial subordination and segregation, racial terrorism and racial inequality.” The report accuses the United States of maintaining “institutional and structural racial discrimination and racism against people of African descent.” The panel that issued this claptrap is the self-styled Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent, which reported on the visit of three of its...

The United Nations Security Council wants a global "framework" for censoring the Internet, as well as for using government propaganda to "counter" what its apparatchiks call "online propaganda," "hateful ideologies," and "digital terrorism." To that end, the UN Security Council this week ordered the UN "Counter-Terrorism Committee" — yes, that is a real bureaucracy — to draw up a plan by next year. From the Obama administration to the brutal Communist Chinese regime, everybody agreed that it was time for a UN-led crackdown on freedom of speech and thought online — all under the guise of fighting the transparently bogus...

Last Friday, while most Americans were distracted debating the pros and cons of the Confederate Flag, or lamenting the latest SCOTUS rulings, Democrats and one world supporters gathered in San Francisco, California to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the United Nations. The event, held in San Francisco City Hall, was a Progressive star-studded event featuring the likes of Governor Jerry Brown, Mayor Ed Lee, and Democratic Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi. But the most compelling statement was made the the keynote speaker, the Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-Moon. Secretary Moon admitted that in September World Leaders, including President Obama, are set...

A report released by the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva on Tuesday called for alleged Israeli war criminals like Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to be arrested and tried for having led attacks against Palestinian civilians. Orders for the report to be prepared were initially given on July 23, 2014, just 16 days into the 2014 Israel-Gaza conflict that started when Hamas began firing rockets into Israel. It also named as its start date June 13 — the day after Palestinian thugs kidnapped and murdered three Israeli teenagers.

Iran has been chosen as a member of the “bureau” overseeing a month-long United Nations conference in New York aimed at finalizing a controversial global “arms trade treaty.” The move, which came as the conference got underway last week but received virtually no attention, is the latest example of Iran taking up leadership positions at the United Nations despite its defiance of Security Council resolutions relating to its nuclear program. Furthermore, according to an expert panel monitoring U.N. sanctions on Iran, Tehran continues to flout a Security Council ban on exporting its weaponry, with Syria the main recipient. “This is...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and military leaders implored conservative Republicans on Wednesday to approve a long-spurned high seas treaty, saying it would create jobs, open a new path to oil, gas and other resources and bolster national security. Clinton, Defense Secretary Leon Panetta and Army Gen. Martin Dempsey, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, made a rare joint appearance before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to make the case for the U.N. Convention on the Law of the Sea. The United States is the only major nation that has refused to sign the...

Washington, DC --(Ammoland.com)- A UN committee wrapped up a week-long series of meetings on a massive treaty that could undermine both U.S. sovereignty and the Second Amendment. This is the third round of meetings by the so-called “preparatory committee” on the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) as the UN gears up for final negotiations in 2012. The most comprehensive treaty of its kind, the ATT would regulate weapons trade throughout the world on everything from battleships to bullets. And as information trickles out of Turtle Bay in New York City, it is obvious the UN is getting more clever about taking...

U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon also said on Thursday that the justification for the use of force was based on humanitarian grounds, and referred to the principle known as Responsibility to Protect (R2P), “a new international security and human rights norm to address the international community’s failure to prevent and stop genocides, war crimes, ethnic cleansing and crimes against humanity.” “Resolution 1973 affirms, clearly and unequivocally, the international community’s determination to fulfill its responsibility to protect civilians from violence perpetrated upon them by their own government,” he said. Manfred Nowak, the U.N. special rapporteur on torture, holds press conference... VIENNA (AP) - The U.S. is obligated by a United Nations convention to prosecute Bush administration lawyers who allegedly drafted policies that approved the use of harsh interrogation tactics against terrorism suspects, the U.N.'s top anti-torture envoy said Friday. Earlier this week, President Barack Obama left the door open to prosecuting Bush administration officials who devised the legal authority for gruesome terror-suspect interrogations. He had previously absolved CIA officers from prosecution.
