Vice President Kamala Harris dodged reporters on the campaign trail Monday, creating another awkward moment as she left a restaurant in Detroit Michigan. Harris made a campaign stop at Joe Louis Southern Kitchen to order food, but did not let reporters join her into the establishment. As she walked briskly out of the restaurant with what looked to be a bag of takeout food, one reporter shouted a question about the details surrounding Gaza terror group Hamas accepting a ceasefire. 'Shrimp and grits. You wanted to know? Shrimp and grits,' Harris said quickly without stopping and jumping into a waiting...

Jason Goodman at Crowdsource the Truth was in D.C. on January 6, 2021 and inadvertently filmed Ray Epps, who is widely suspected of being an FBI informant. Jason’s new video material and photos appear below. Why is Epps believed to be an FBI informant? Epps appeared on video inciting Trump supporters to storm the Capitol and assaulting a police officer, yet he was never arrested and charged. Quite a contrast with more than a hundred Trump supporters who were arrested for merely walking into the Capitol. For readers outside the United States, I want to ensure you understand the expression,...

They’re made from dried, ground corn (Maize) cooked in various liquids — including water, milk, or broth — until the mix reaches a thick, creamy, porridge-like consistency. Grits are a popular Southern American dish made from crushed or ground corn. They’re most commonly served as a breakfast or side dish and usually made from a variety of corn called dent...

President Trump said he is seriously considering a pardon for former White House national security adviser Michael Flynn. “So now it is reported that, after destroying his life & the life of his wonderful family (and many others also), the FBI, working in conjunction with the Justice Department, has 'lost' the records of General Michael Flynn. How convenient. I am strongly considering a Full Pardon!” Trump tweeted on Sunday. Flynn, 61, pleaded guilty in December 2017 for lying to investigators about his conversations with then-Russian Ambassador to the U.S. Sergey Kislyak, and faces possible prison time. After swapping legal teams,...

In response to criticism over its role in the childhood obesity epidemic, the food industry vowed to only run TV ads for “healthier” foods to kids. Critics say the industry’s self-imposed rules don’t do much beyond giving them good publicity.Whether Tony the Tiger is declaring Frosted Flakes “grrreat” or a manic bird is going “cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs,” food commercials remain mainstays of after-school TV even as childhood obesity has become a health crisis. For the last decade, the food industry has defended those ads in part by saying its products are relatively healthy — according to nutrition criteria it...

When President Obama promised to fundamentally transform America, we had no idea he was secretly plotting to ban biscuits and grits. The 2010 Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act strictly limited calories, fat, salt, sugar and just about everything else that makes food edible – including grits. “We could originally serve half whole grains but that changed in 2012 when we had to start serving 100 percent whole grains,” said Stephanie Dillard, the child nutrition director for Geneva County Schools in Alabama. That meant no more grits. “And grits are a staple in the South,” Ms. Dillard told me. “Students really...

Family TraditionSciple's Water Mill has been all in the family for nearly 200 yearsBy Nancy Dorman-Hickson Photography by Meg McKinney The honor box says a lot about Sciple’s Water Mill in De Kalb, Miss. Attached to a stand that’s filled with the mill’s stone-ground whole-wheat flour, fish fry mix, grits, and meal, the honor box means visitors won’t leave empty-handed even if the mill is closed. “Most people are honest,” says Eddie Sciple, the mill’s operator and owner. “Usually if meal is gone, there is money or an I.O.U. in the box.” People have been coming to the mill...

...."I have had grits before," he told a crowd at a Mobile cafe on Saturday morning, making a not-so-subtle knock on former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney's joking admission to an audience that he was starting to like the favorite Southern food. ....The former House Speaker contended that was evidence of a larger problem facing his rival: "I figure if you don't understand grits, there's a pretty high likelihood that you don't understand the rest of the South, either." ...."We have momentum, but we haven't won," he told a crowd at his second cafe stop of the day - Mama Lou's...

Edward Stanley Gilbert, 20, and Lloyd Odis Sams, 19, both of Kingsland, each face three counts of felony burglary, said Lt. Todd Tetterton, police department spokesman. When arrested, the suspects had been free on bail on charges stemming from another theft case, Tetterton said. Both remained in custody at the Camden County jail on Thursday. Collard greens seasoned with smoky side meat. Corn bread and black-eyed peas. Grits studded with shrimp and tender baby greens. Those are just some of the menu possibilities for a delicious Southern Sunday supper. South Florida may not seem very Southern these days, but there was a time when natives pronounced Miami ''myah-muh.'' So, just pass the sweet ice tea, y'all. Southern cooking's charm lies in its use of regional ingredients -- country ham, pecans, local shrimp, corn, root vegetables -- in uncomplicated ways. The fresh produce found at local markets in the spring makes it the perfect time to...

What Are Grits? Nobody knows. Some folks believe grits are grown on bushes and are harvested by midgets by shaking the bushes after spreading sheets around them. Many people feel that grits are made from ground up bits of white corn. These are obviously lies spread by Communists and terrorists. Nothing as good as Grits can be made from corn. The most recent research suggests that the mysterious Manna that God rained down upon the Israelites during their time in the Sinai Desert was most likely Grits. Critics disagree, stating that there is no record of biscuits, butter, salt, and...

The guests at Sunday evening's black tie White House dinner for the nation's governors feasted on servings of Chesapeake crab agnolottis, wagyu beef, Nantucket scallops and huckleberry cobbler for dessert. But thanks to First Lady Michelle Obama, a bit more of the day-to-day eating habits of the new family living at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave has been learned. "There are some mean waffles and grits that are made in the morning that have become a regular staple for some of us," Obama said. But she didn't reveal exactly for who that breakfast pairing has become a morning favorite. Though she was...

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - July 19, 2006 - A University of Illinois researcher had discovered a fourth copy of a rare letter Abraham Lincoln had written by to the nation's governors in 1861. The letter John Lupton found Tuesday in the Lehigh County Historical Society's holdings was one Lincoln wrote as part of an unsuccessful ratification process for a constitutional amendment Congress adopted during the term of his predecessor, President James Buchanan, that would have made slavery the law of the land. The president remembered for abolishing slavery had been willing to push the amendment as "kind of a carrot...

The Sun Media-SES Research survey shows Prime Minister Stephen Harper's Tories now have the support of 38% of Canadians, compared to 28% for the Grits. The NDP has the support of 19% of Canadians, while the Bloc Quebecois has 9% and the Green Party 6%. OTTAWA — John Manley’s announcement that he will not be a candidate to lead the federal Liberals is symptomatic of a greater malaise infecting Canada’s “natural governing party.†Former New Brunswick premier Frank McKenna’s return to Canada is seen as a slam-dunk for his Liberal leadership ambitions. One high-powered Grit told me he could raise $1million for McKenna in one hour. Where does that leave the party that desperately needs a real leadership race, not the make-believe farce that characterized Paul Martin’s rise to power? Is the party’s desire for power so deep that the obvious message emanating from last...

In a last-minute blow to high-profile Liberal candidate Michael Ignatieff, the president of the party’s riding association in Etobicoke-Lakeshore swung his support today to Conservative rival John Capobianco in Monday’s federal election. The controversial process by which Ignatieff was acclaimed the candidate over local hopefuls ruled ineligible by the party was a major factor in the decision, said Ron Chyczij, who had hoped to contest the nomination himself. "I can no longer in good conscience support the Liberal candidate in this riding," he said in a statement released this afternoon. "After the nomination fiasco, I’ve purposely waited on the sidelines...

he Conservative Party has an 18-point lead over the Liberals in a new poll, giving them 42 per cent support nationally and setting possibly setting the stage for a major electoral shift. The Tories have gained two points since a similar poll released Monday, while the Liberals fell three points. "These numbers would deliver a majority government," pollster Tim Woolstencroft of The Strategic Counsel told CTV.ca on Tuesday. "We've seen a transformation of the electoral landscape that's basically on par with 1993, 1984, 1968 and 1958," he said, referring to elections which generated big majorities. However, Craig Oliver, CTV's chief...
