This is what a family member has written to me regarding the condition of my nephew Bill's wife Jessica: "Re: Jessica. The second doctor found more cancer in the bowel and uterus and a non-cancerous cyst on the kidney. An operation to remove it is scheduled for August 17th. They will work out a new chemotherapy schedule after that. This was a new round of terrifying news. Maybe better to find it now with hopes that they will “get it all” now. ".... in between prayers. Thank you for the prayers. We need an army. Love,"

The only thing we can say about Jessica's test results is that they were not as bad as they could have been. Going into yesterday's P E T scan and MRI we were praying for a miracle. We don't know if we got it but we do know that it is at least still a possibility. The tests showed that all of the cancer that was visible, even with advanced technology, seemed to be gone. Nevertheless, since the cancer Jessica has is so rare her doctor said she did not know if she got it all. Turning the phrase around...

  • Man getting death threats due to Jessica Chambers investigation

Ali Alsanai went to the Panola County Sheriff’s office Monday to try to get an order of protection. “They came to the store, they asked for the surveillance video. I showed them the surveillance video. The next day, they came and asked for the camera, so I gave them the camera system. What else can I do?” he said. There has been online speculation Alsanai was not telling the truth and might be involved, but there is no proof of that. Hear from him on WREG at 5 p.m. Monday, the Panola County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the FBI is now...

Jessica Simpson may not know the difference between chicken and tuna, but she can distinguish what's in style and what's not. And it's earning her A LOT of money. The pop singer's fashion empire raked in $750 million dollars last year, and it's expected to push to a jaw-dropping $1 billion this year as she expands her collection, according to an article in New York Magazine that will hit shelves on Feb. 21.

After World War II, trying to explain how good Germans allowed the monstrous evil of the Nazi regime, a pastor recalled that the Nazis came for the communists, and he did nothing; then for the trade unionists, then for the gypsies and Jews; then for the Catholics – and each time he did nothing. When they came for him, none were left to defend him. Last week, here in America, they came for Jessica Hughes, and I will not be silent. I will not turn away, hoping, in the end, they will not come for me. Jessica Hughes of Lufkin,...

Brook Bennett's murder has brought back calls for a tougher law against adults who sexually prey on children. More than thirty states -- but not Vermont -- have enacted Jessica's law, setting a 25-year minimum prison sentence for convicted child sex offenders. "When a person is sexually assaulted, a minor is sexually assaulted, it's my opinion that they should go to jail for 25 years," Dubie told Channel 3. "That's very simple and that's what Jessica's Law calls for. I'm also asking that we reconsider what the governor proposed last legislative session, and that's civil confinement." House Judiciary committee chairman...

You cannot have it both ways! Every year in America, this “both ways” mentality gets worse and worse. Somewhere along the line Americans started thinking that we could have all of our rights and freedoms and have expedient justice and results at the same time. Well, I have to tell you: YOU CANNOT. There is a blend of the two that must be championed if we are going to continue being a successful country. The mortgage crisis of late is one of the great disasters caused by this “have it both ways” mentality. The government was constantly pressured by citizens...

WASHINGTON, DC -- Army Private Jessica Lynch told a congressional hearing Tuesday morning that "Americans are capable of creating their own heroes" without the military making them up. Lynch, a West Virginia native who got tremendous coverage after a military team rescued her from a makeshift Iraqi hospital, joined relatives of NFL-star-turned war hero Pat Tillman in discussing her time in the limelight. "This is not a time for finger-pointing, but a time for proof," she told the panel. Lynch's platoon was hit by a rocket and grenade attack on the initial drive to Baghdad in 2003. Three in her...

By Emanuella Grinberg Court TV MIAMI — A judge on Tuesday refused to suppress jailhouse statements from a man who allegedly expressed remorse for raping and murdering 9-year-old Jessica Lunsford in 2005. Circuit Court Judge Richard Howard halted jury selection Tuesday in John Couey's capital murder trial to hold a hearing on whether to suppress the statements that the convicted sex offender allegedly made in 2006. Running is something I want to get back to. I last went running in Kuwait, on the sand. Before we went to Iraq. I wanted to think it's like riding a bicycle, you don't forget. I've tried on a treadmill, but it's not pretty. It's getting back into learning how to do it. What were the odds? For me to be one of a few POWs out of all the soldiers deployed? It was a definite shock. There have been times when my physical abilities and mental abilities have been tested. But that also keeps me going. My brother and...

The confession of a man charged with kidnapping, raping and killing 9-year-old Jessica Lunsford isn't admissible in court, but the discovery of her body can be used as evidence, a judge ruled today. John Evander Couey, a 47-year-old convicted sex offender, gave the confession to detectives, but also told them that he wanted to consult a lawyer. He wasn't given the opportunity to do so. Jessica Marie Lunsford was found kneeling and clutching a stuffed animal, hands tied with speaker wire and fingers poking through the garbage bags in which she was buried alive in March 2005. Two days earlier,...

IT'S hard to believe those gentle, playful dolphins we all love are actually ultra-horny, dangerously jealous creatures - but Jessica Alba and Susan Sarandon can tell you it's true from personal experience. Alba learned just how sex-crazed the lovable mammals are when she filmed the 1990s "Flipper" remake. "Dolphins get excited, even when you are a human being and they have long, long," the "Sin City" hottie told MTV. ". . . I didn't know this until I was being poked by a few of them, which was very rude. I sort of requested female dolphins after that because those...
