Republicans lead Rasmussen Reports’ final generic congressional ballot by five points heading into next week’s midterm election. Four days before the election, Republicans lead by five points on the generic ballot, the same generic ballot a GOP candidate has led all year. Of the 2,500 likely voters who responded to the poll, 48 percent said they would vote for the GOP candidate, while only 43 percent said the Democrat candidate.

Jim Schultz, the Republican candidate for attorney general in Minnesota, has extended his lead over Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison (D) to seven points, according to a poll. The most recent KSTP/SurveyUSA poll found that 49 percent of likely Minnesota voters support Schultz, compared to just 42 percent for Ellison. An additional nine percent of voters remain undecided.

Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) and Sen. Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.) have seen their leads shrink in Illinois, though both are still expected to prevail in their respective races, according to a new poll. Greg Abbott is tromping potential Democrat gubernatorial challenger Beto O’Rourke (D) by double digits in a hypothetical matchup in the Lone Star State, a Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday found. The angry longshoreman who unleashed a profanity and threat filled tirade on TV crews after last week's union stoppage in SW Washington has been arrested, thanks to his video appearance. Witnesses reportedly identified 45-year-old Ronald Patrick Stavas from the video that's gone viral. The Associated Press reports the Kelso longshoreman is accused of assaulting a guard and breaking into the EGT terminal on Thursday.
