Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is cooling his heels on the team’s COVID-19 reserve list after testing positive for the virus despite being fully vaccinated, according to reports. Roethlisberger will have to watch this Sunday’s game against the Lions from afar as he will be out of service for the league’s ten-day quarantine period, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Last week, Roethlisberger appeared on The Dan Patrick Show and said he is fully vaccinated against the virus when talking about the protocols that the players follow in the locker room. “I think you’re supposed to have your mask on if...

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been placed on the COVID-19 list and will miss the Steelers’ game Sunday against the Detroit Lions. The Steelers announced Saturday night that Roethlisberger was ruled out for the game. Mason Rudolph will likely start for the Steelers, who have won four straight games.

WASHINGTON — The lead lawyer for former President Donald Trump’s defense during the impeachment trial mistakenly referred to the Georgia Secretary of State as Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. When referencing Trump’s phone call to Brad Raffensperger, former Montgomery County district attorney Bruce Castor instead said Roethlisberger’s name in front of the U.S. Senate Friday afternoon, according to our partners at TribLive.com.

(CNN) - The governor of Pennsylvania wants everyone - including the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers - to adhere to guidelines around the coronavirus pandemic. Even if that means skipping a haircut at a salon or barbershop. During a briefing on Tuesday, Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf was asked what he thought about Ben Roethlisberger recently getting a haircut and beard trim at a barbershop in the state. “My concern is just a general concern,” Wolf said, not mentioning Roethlisberger by name. “Anybody who puts himself or herself into harm’s way is something that I think we ought to try to...

Ben Roethlisberger broke pandemic restrictions to get his hair cut and beard trimmed, along with a small recording crew, for a video the Steelers quarterback put out on his Twitter account Monday. Governor Tom Wolf doesn’t want Roethlisberger, or anyone to break coronavirus restrictions in that way. “My concern is just a general concern and anybody who puts himself or herself into harm’s way is something i think we ought to try to avoid,” Wolf said in response to a question about Roethlisberger specifically. "And when you go to something like a barbershop and you’re not protected, I don’t care...

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said Monday that he regrets participating in his team's Sunday protest of the national anthem.

Allahpundit noted this morning that there has been a run on Alejandro Villanueva jerseys after he became the lone Steelers player to come out of the tunnel during the national anthem yesterday. Today, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger published his explanation of what happened, saying he wasn’t able to sleep last night and wishes the team had done things differently. I was unable to sleep last night and want to share my thoughts and feelings on our team’s decision to remain in the tunnel for the National Anthem yesterday. The idea was to be unified as a team when so much...

The Steelers will be on the sideline during the national anthem in future games, quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and defensive end Cam Heyward said during a news conference Monday. Roethlisberger, via a statement posted on his website, said he has regrets over the Steelers’ decision to wait in the tunnel during the national anthem at Sunday’s game in Chicago, but that the team’s intent was not to protest the song, the flag or the military. Roethlisberger said that he personally believes that protests have no place during the national anthem, but that the idea was to show unity as a team...

PITTSBURGH -- Ben Roethlisberger got the privacy he wanted for his wedding Saturday, with police providing tight security around the church in affluent Ohio Township where he and Ashley Harlan were married and tinted windows on expensive cars leaving much of the guest list a mystery. Still, the hope of a glimpse at the Pittsburgh Steeler quarterback, his new bride and the dozens of team luminaries who turned out for the ceremony was enough for Dolly Metz to sit in a car -- complete with Steelers covers on the headrests -- in a nearby parking lot with the windows down...

PITTSBURGH -- You see it all around town these days. The "Big Ben" signs gradually returning to the windows in working-class hillside neighborhoods. The No. 7 jerseys on the backs of suburban convenience-store clerks, grade-school teachers - even, strikingly, children. Most prominently, you see it in how the discussion unfolds when talk turns to Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. Instead of phrases like "criminal investigation," ''NFL suspension" and "bad example," the words today are back to what they were a couple years ago: Completed passes. Makes things happen. Leader.

Ravens linebacker Jameel McClain was fined $40,000, and defensive tackle Haloti Ngata was docked $15,000 by the NFL on Monday for separate hits in a 13-10 loss to the Steelers on Sunday night. The NFL punished McClain for an illegal helmet-to-helmet hit that left Steelers tight end Heath Miller with a concussion. Ngata was fined for hitting Ben Roethlisberger in the head while the Steelers' quarterback was in a defenseless position. Roethlisberger broke his nose on the play and had surgery on it yesterday. Neither McClain nor Ngata were penalized for their hits. Miller's status for next Sunday's game against...

I am still all fired up after watching that thrilling Steelers win against the Ravens. Troy, Woodley, Harrison, Farrior, etc. all came up big. But was there a gutsier, more warrior like player tonight than Ben Roethlisberger? His performance tonight should go down as one for the ages. I know Jack Lambert said that QBs should wear dresses. For the most part you have to agree with him. Yeah, you get a Michael Vick who has the wheels to run, you get a Brett Favre who will stand in there and take a hit to deliver the throw, but who...

"A hand came through my facemask and, the next thing I knew, blood was running down my face," Roethlisberger said. "I said to [referee Terry McAulay], 'He hit me in the head.' He said, 'He was just trying to tackle you.' " So much for protecting the quarterback, right?

PITTSBURGH -- Raiders defensive end Richard Seymour has been ejected for an openhanded punch to Ben Roethlisberger's face as the Steelers quarterback was celebrating a touchdown pass. After completing the 22-yard throw to Emmanuel Sanders, Roethlisberger jumped into the arms of tackle Flozell Adams. Roethlisberger then began walking forward and appeared to say something to Seymour, who turned and struck the quarterback in the jaw with his open right hand. As Roethlisberger went to his back, lineman Chris Kemoeatu grabbed Seymour. Both Seymour and Kemoeatu drew penalties, but only Seymour was ejected.

PITTSBURGH, (UPI) -- Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, suspended for off-field behavior, has been "dropped" from a spot at the Pittsburgh zoo, officials said. Roethlisberger's name was replaced on a tall pole the zoo uses to show elephants' height compared to people, WTAE-TV, Pittsburgh, reported. The zoo has replaced Roethlisberger's name with that of Pittsburgh Penguins owner and NHL Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux, the television station said Friday. Some zoo visitors had expressed concerns about Roethlisberger's name on the display, zoo spokeswoman Tracy Gray said. Roethlisberger was accused of sexual assault by a 20-year-old woman in Milledgeville, Ga., in...

One of Ben Roethlisberger's two bodyguards, who was with him at a bar in Milledgeville, Ga., last month after which a 20-year-old college student accused Roethlisberger of sexual assault, is in danger of losing his job as a Coraopolis, Pa., police officer, a source close to the Coraopolis local government told ESPN on Sunday. A majority vote of the Coraopolis City Council would be needed to dismiss Anthony Barravecchio, and according to the source, if a vote were taken today, it would be 8-0 for dismissing him from his position on the force. The source added that documents from the...

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger was suspended for six games without pay Wednesday for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy and ordered to undergo behavioral evaluation. Commissioner Roger Goodell handed down the punishment a week after prosecutors decided not to charge Roethlisberger in a case involving a 20-year-old college student who accused him of sexually assaulting her in a Georgia nightclub in March. Goodell said the league’s conduct policy gave him the right to impose discipline regardless of whether he broke the law.

NEW YORK – NFL commissioner Roger Goodell says Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has violated the league's personal-conduct policy. Goodell said on the Dan Patrick radio show Monday there has been a "violation" and the key issue is a "pattern of behavior." Last week, prosecutors in Georgia declined to charge Roethlisberger after a college student accused him of sexual assault in March. The NFL is expected to discipline Roethlisberger, although it says there is no timetable for such a decision.
