AUSTIN, Texas – A Houston grand jury investigating undercover footage of Planned Parenthood found no wrongdoing Monday by the abortion provider but instead indicted anti-abortion activists involved in making the videos that provoked outrage among Republican leaders nationwide. David Daleiden, founder of the Center for Medical Progress, was indicted on a felony charge of tampering with a governmental record and a misdemeanor count related to purchasing human organs. Another activist, Sandra Merritt, was also indicted on a charge of tampering with a governmental record.

As if America needed more proof of Hollywood¡Ás unabashed liberalism, here comes the liberal feel-good movie of the year, "The Runaway Jury." What starts as an interesting plot slowly unravels to reveal a not-so-hidden agenda about gun control. However, the movie reveals much more about Liberals than intended. In "The Runaway Jury," actor Dustin Hoffman plays a lawyer suing a gun manufacturer for millions of dollars, claiming they are responsible for the shooting death of his client's husband. This part is a bit confusing since guns do not possess the ability to enter buildings, aim themselves and pull their own...

LOS ANGELES - A judge threw out a $6.5 million award to a former gang member who sued his public defender for failing to convince a jury he didn't assault two corrupt police officers. Judge Tricia Ann Bigelow on Monday also ordered a new trail after finding that a juror committed misconduct and the panel improperly found Javier Ovando's former defense attorney was liable. Ovando, 27, was convicted in 1997 of assaulting Rampart division officers Rafael Perez and Nino Durden and sentenced to 23 years in prison. He spent more than two years behind bars until it was revealed that...
  • Runaway Jury: Do Not Run to See This Movie

A couple infiltrates a jury (gun control case) so they can take a bribe from whichever legal team will offer the most money to get them to sway the jury one way or the other. You think through most of the movie that they are just crooks until the end when you find out that they are anti-gun activists: They take the gun industry's $15 million, but sway the decision the other way.
  • Hollywood: Dangerous to America: Kyle Williams takes makers of anti-gun movie to task

A frequent argument from liberals is that talk radio and the conservative opinion givers are some of the most dangerous things in America. That's a lie. The biggest danger in the manipulation of political opinion is Hollywood. Conservatives like to throw out terms like "liberal Hollywood propaganda" lightly. Most times it's used in a very vague sense, but the term has much truth in it. It seems Hollywood is becoming bolder and bolder as each week goes by. I went to see a movie this week: "The Runaway Jury." By looking at the average reviews and trailers, it promised to...

Reprinted from NewsMax.com Runaway AgendaJames Hirsen, NewsMax.comMonday, Oct. 20, 2003 You’d think I’d know by now to have the Pepcid handy before turning on the “Today” show. One recent airing of the program had Matt Lauer hosting a Second Amendment scoff session with renaissance “Rain Man” Dustin Hoffman, one of the stars of the new feature length gun grouse, “Runaway Jury.” And later in the program, Brady Campaign Board of Director member and suspense writer Richard North Patterson got a chance to hawk his new anti-gun book. It’s a story about a president who fights a powerful D.C. lobbying group...

A car driven by plaintiff Robert Jewett collided with defendant Kelly Johnson's sport-utility vehicle at 42nd Street West and Avenue N as Johnson made an illegal U-turn while talking on a cellular telephone, according to court testimony. The three-week trial in front of Judge John Doyle in the North District Palmdale Courthouse ended Monday with the...

Expect the big-screen version of ``Runaway Jury'' to hit hard on the gun-control issue -- certainly if Dustin Hoffman has anything to say about it.

Davison points out that all the jurors are well-known actors in ``The Runaway Jury'' jury. He says the story is layered with what's going on in court and what's going on behind the scenes among the jurors -- including a corrupting bid from John Cusack's character to sway the verdict for big cash -- making for several different points of tension simultaneously.

Thurday, August 1, 2002Simon Company Hit by Jury Fraud Award The already bitter California gubernatorial race got even nastier yesterday when it was revealed that a company owned by GOP candidate Bill Simon was found liable for fraud and socked with a whopping $87 million in damages by a Los Angeles Superior Court jury. A lawsuit filed in December of 2000, and brought against William E. Simon & Sons and a partner, B-R Investors by convicted drug lord Paul Edward Hindelang charged that after buying the plaintiff's company, Pacific Coin, the defendants acted in a reckless manner which resulted...
