@mrubin1971Two news stories from recent weeks, if true, should raise a red flag in the United States that Iran is preparing to use Hezbollah to strike at U.S. interests in Latin America, if not in the United States itself.First, this story from the Lebanese news portal Naharnet and sourced in part to Israeli radio. The Naharnet story was taken down shortly after it appeared: Hezbollah is using a training base established by Iran in northern Nicaragua near the border with Honduras, the Israeli radio reported on Thursday [September 6]. “The area is cordoned off and there are around 30 members...

Iran blinks, will not send "aid ship" to Gaza SNIPPET: "IRNA said that Sheikholeslam told reporters in the northern city of Rasht that the ship had originally been scheduled to depart for Gaza on Thursday, but that its departure was postponed until Sunday because of restrictions imposed by Israel. He added that officials then decided instead to cancel the trip altogether, shipping to Gaza the goods by other means, IRNA said."

When asked by the media for his thoughts on the Hamas triumph in the Palestinian parliamentary elections, former President Jimmy Carter replied that while they have a terrorist past, at least they're not corrupt. One of the complaints by many in the Middle East was the corruption within the Palestinian Authority and Yasser Arafat's Fatah Party. Arafat himself squirreled away millions of dollars from aid packages that were intended to help the Palestinian people. However, Carter's comment appears to dismiss the years of death and destruction perpetrated by Hamas on the Jewish State. One of the first statements made by...

TROUBLE SPEAK Ward Churchill copied 'original' art piece Takes a swing at TV reporter who confronted him -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Posted: February 26, 2005 1:00 a.m. Eastern © 2005 WorldNetDaily.com Professor Ward Churchill Adding to a growing list of allegations, controversial University of Colorado professor Ward Churchill appears to have violated copyright law by claiming a reknowned artist's work as his own. Churchill, whose integrity has been challenged since news broke earlier last month of his paper blaming victims of 9-11 for the attacks, made an Indian-theme serigraph in 1981 called "Winter Attack" and printed 150 copies. But one of the buyers,...

Ward Hill as a member of the schismatic Boulder/Denver branch of AIM [American Indian Movement] as spent his whole life trashing the FBI and police. Here is what he said in his "Roosting Chickens" article. He is an anarchist who publishes his books through anarchist publishers. He wants to trash our law enforcement and intelligence organizations so that we will be destroyed. He doesn't want to make them better. He want the USA off the planet. He has often depicted the FBI and CIA as terrorist organizations.

We read that "Prime Minister" Mahmoud Abbas is running in the elections on Sunday to succeed Yasser Arafat as "president" of "Palestine."Excuse me, but prime minister, according to the Encyclopedia Britannica, means the "head of the executive branch of government in states with a parliamentary system." Despite tens of thousands of references to Mr. Abbas as prime minister, he in not a single way fits this description.Oh, and there is also the matter of there being no country called Palestine. Arab maps show it in place of Israel. The U.N. recognizes its existence. So too do certain telephone companies –...

Here's a sobering thought: If you ever hurled a bowling ball at any of the pins at Greenwich Village's Bowl mor Lanes, you might have been subsidizing terror. Or, at least, contributing to Yasser Arafat's hopes for a nice profit on funds he . . . ummm, "invested" — as opposed to improving the circumstances of impoverished Palestinians. That's the upshot of a report this week from Bloomberg Markets magazine, which details the far-flung investments made on behalf of the late and unlamented Palestinian terror chief. The report says Arafat "diverted" — that is, skimmed — tax revenue from...

There is much talk of post-election reorganization and rethinking among demoralized liberals, especially in matters of foreign policy. They could start by accepting that the demise of many of their cherished beliefs and institutions was not the fault of others. More often, the problems are fundamental flaws in their own thinking — such as the ends of good intentions justifying the means of expediency and untruth, and forced equality being a higher moral good than individual liberty and freedom. Whether we call such notions “political correctness” or “progressivism,” the practice of privileging race, class, and gender over basic ethical considerations...

CAIRO, Egypt (AP) - Fathi Arafat, the brother of late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and founder of the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, died Wednesday. He was 67. Arafat died at 5:20 p.m. at the Palestine Hospital in suburban Cairo, where he had been receiving treatment for stomach cancer, said Mae Arif, spokeswoman for the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. Arafat, a physician, was the hospital's director. In New York City, Arafat's nephew, Nasser al-Kidwa, the Palestinian envoy to the United Nations, mourned his death. "He was not only an uncle but he was a friend, a personal friend I think," al-Kidwa...

A new AIDS vaccine that is used to treat the disease is able to suppress the virus for at least one year, say researchers of a small trial. You can read about this preliminary study in Nature Medicine. It is being called the first demonstration of an efficient therapeutic vaccine against AIDS. 18 volunteers were involved in the trial. They were all infected with HIV. The trial was carried out in Brazil. None of the volunteers had been taking antiviral drugs. Four months after taking the experimental vaccine their levels of HIV (in the bloodstream) had gone down 80%. 8...

The Al-Aksa Brigades terror group, which has just been renamed the "Arafat Brigades," unveiled a new weapon today: the “Yasser" rocket. It can hit the fuel refineries on the Ashkelon coast. The new weapon is appropriately named for the deceased arch-terrorist who founded Fatah. The Yasser has a range of 15 kilometers (9 miles), putting the populous Israeli city of Ashkelon within striking distance of Gaza-launched missiles. It is said to be almost ready for activation. Members of the terror gang paraded through the streets of Gaza City today, displaying the new rocket and declaring their intention to begin firing...

The first of the two parts of arch-terrorist Yasser Arafat's funeral has ended in Cairo, and the second part - the actual burial - began at 2 PM in Ramallah. The PA security services had difficulty enforcing order. The unruly and volatile funeral continues as this report goes to press. Some 40 political leaders from around the world, including U.S. Assistant Secretary of State William Burns, attended the Cairo ceremony. It lasted only a few minutes, and no speeches were delivered. Several non-Arab nations, such as Brazil and South Africa, joined Syria, Yemen, Jordan, Malaysia and others in sending their...
