I wish our Congress would close up shop and go home. They had their say and now are reneging on the deal.
Hindsight is a cool thing, isn't it?
Now, since I am ranting, 'their enemy' is our enemy. It is al qeada (and Iran). al qeada attacked us on 911 and I like killing people who side up with al qeada. These people will not live in peace with us, so we must protect ourself. We must be on the offensive.
We need to pick up a weapon and stand a post. If you can't pick up an M16, then pick up a pen. It is mightier then the sword. I picked up the keyboard. It is mightier then the M16.
I let my Congressmen, some of the commie traitors, and my President know that I have more compassion for supporting this mission then I have for border security. And I got a mess of compassion for border security too. They heard me then and they will hear me now.
I'm coming and hell is coming with me!!
I stole that from Tombstone. ;-)
Damn the reports, full speed ahead!
I was able to listen to my Congresswoman tonight after she just got back from Iraq and she isn't going to mold to the MSM and how bad things are.
I appreciate my vote of 2006 more than any vote I placed since 1976 for Congress after hearing Michelle Bachmann on Jason Lewis tonight!
Of course the MSM won't cater to what she had to say about Iraq while she was there and what her directive is toward our President and his Iraq directives.
It ain't the Americans who lost Iraq. The blame rests solely on the squabbling Iraqis.
Screw 'em.
Rant on dude! It will inspire many to action,
Well, I can understand that sentiment. Problem is, if we don’t find a way to make it work, either by spending more money, involving more troops or whatever, we will be back in there again, and it will be a lot harder.
And that is if we are lucky, IMO.
Our own US Congress is no better.
At what point do we keep throwing away blood and treasure for a bunch of immature bastards who aren't willing to shoulder their own responsibilities?
I fully understand that we cannot allow Al Qaeda to operate in Iraq with impunity. That doesn't mean we should be policing the rest of Iraq.
If the Maliki government isn't willing to shoulder the real work of governing, then let 'em topple. Our soldiers can still operate from their garrisons in other countries (Kuwait, etc.) to go after al Qaeda in Iraq. That's the only mission I still think is worthwhile.
got yer back too pisser
The weak sisters in the senate boil my blood. Fortunately, all the GOP candidates for prez with any shot are talking victory.
I know what you mean, but IMO, we do have a vested interest in being there and making it work. Even at the cost of treasure.
And, after 9/11, even at the cost of blood. I wish with all my heart it were not so.
A self sufficent Iraq that if not completely and totally friendly, might (I know...speculation) be indifferent at least, rather than outright hostile. And that would be a good thing for not just us, but for the entire world.
For me, the basic reasons I supported a move by my government into Iraq still exist for me today, and I am willing to support it as long as I think those reasons are still valid.
well with Lettuce wilting, Hagel drawing the line in the sand, and Thompson tempting, all I see is win, win.
Either Fred Dalton or Duncan Flippin’ Hunter can whup Hillary and gain congress in the same fell swoop...
We are force fed the 10 % who are communist unamerican
SOB’s on our tv. It is a no factor to us......and the base will (as always) vote but this time to stomp Hillary PERSONALLY........Think about that....The public is about to tell Hillary what they really think. Not a pundit, not a adverary, but the vote and hidden by a booth and cloth.
I’ll bet Hillary is so scared of that fact her nuts are way in her belly. I also bet she explodes in public because of her demanding expectations not fullfilling.
F’ing jew bastard will be in the Boy Scout Handbook compared to what she will unhinge before her run is over.
in fact my handle is advertising guy so let’s.......
let the ad show who you vote for and post Hillary’s grill but morph it to Jane Fonda,Rosie O Donuts, Paris Hilton, Cat Stevens,
Gloria Steinham,et al......and then pause and fade to walking into voting booth.......oh we could own the voting moment or........kill the enemy w/o firing one bullet
Honestly, the notion of writing down a list of "targets" in D.C. for the Iraq government to "meet", as if that accomplishes something, has always struck me as pretty loopy. If the Iraqi government had "met its targets" what would that have met? What does that have to do with the reality of life on the ground in Iraq? This is stupid bureacratic-think and it's dominating our war debate.
One likely result of the report will be a vastly accelerated debate among President Bush's top aides on withdrawing troops and scaling back the U.S. presence in Iraq.
I wonder if this isn't the real point, that Bush really wants the cover to withdraw troops, so he allows "targets" to be set and now can use this as cover. This is just one possibility but it illustrates perfectly why this notion of "targets" shouldn't be taken seriously.
Also being drafted are several Republican-backed proposals that would force a new course in Iraq, including one by Sens. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Ben Nelson, D-Neb., that would require U.S. troops to abandon combat missions.
Stupid. Why? So U.S. troops should remain in country but would be forbidden from engaging in combat missions? What's the point? May as well withdraw then. Again, (R)s prove themselves the stupid party.
Collins and Nelson say their binding amendment would order the U.S. mission to focus on training the Iraqi security forces, targeting al-Qaida members and protecting Iraq's borders.
WTF. What the hell is the difference between a "combat mission" and a mission to target Al qaeda members? Presumably they'd have to consult lawyers at all times. Idiots.
"My goal is to redefine the mission and set the stage for a significant but gradual drawdown of our troops next year," said Collins.
May I ask why?
Does anyone ever ask these people why they care so much that we have a military contingent in Iraq?
You'd rather that money be spent on more pork, or the usual things our government spends tax money on?
Do you perceive that the Iraq occupation is causing you financial hardship?
When was this memo issued to y'all that when you are talking about money spent on Iraq you are required to call money "treasure"? This is like the 16 zillionth time I've seen this usage. All I can say is that the faithful adherence to this usage among the people who (apparently) got that memo is magnificent.
Now excuse me while I go check my wallet. I think I need to dig up some "treasure" so that I can do my laundry....
No, I'd rather it be returned in hefty tax cuts as the government is minimalized.
Do you perceive that the Iraq occupation is causing you financial hardship?
Let's see. $12 billion a month right now, not to mention the billions that have been lost or overpaid in contractors' fees. Yes I would perceive that paying for this occupation is going to cost a burden to me personally. As money is borrowed or printed to pay for this fiasco (not to mention domestic programs), the purchasing power of the dollar decreases.
