Yes, that is the new lie:o(
Couple of points about that thread:
First, I understand where JimRob is coming from. He sees the RINOs as compromising too much with the dems and taking our party leftward, and to that I'd agree. Still, I hate to see a trap set for those FReepers to get caught up in.
You don't have to agree with JimRob on every issue, but you cannot debate him when his mind is made up. So why bother? What I hate most about those threads is all the sycophants that come on and cheer and shout agreement with JimRob as if to get brownie points. There is no reasoned discourse at that point. They'll collectively work to get those who disagree angry and then banned.
This happened a couple of years ago on the famous Rudy Giuliani thread and we lost several great Sunday Morning Thread posters like Pukin Dog, for one.
While you might vehemently disagree with someone, it's sad to see them get banned. Cedric was a problem more than once on this thread and not a nice person from time to time. Still, I've had many a FReepmail conversation with him and lately he was trying to stop that behavior. Still, I can see how he was asking for it last night.
I don’t always agree with him, but this was a superb line of questioning.
Isn’t it possible that there was just a tad of hyperbole in calling him a Democrat?
Dean talking about the "uninsurable"
Howard Dean - insurance companies take 27% off the top.. (where is he getting that number from?)
Huckabee - Nor much reform in the health bill. We need to move to preventative care not catastrophic intervention. Oh, for heaven’s sake - he thinks we all need to exercise. Get out of our lives, Huck!
Yup. Behavior unworthy of any adult. It has a Lord of the Flies feel to it.
Considering the time, and the fact that he had been going on for quite a few hours, I think too much holiday celebrating may have been involved.
Of course they are world apart on positions.
I miss the optimism. I miss hearing the benefits of small government. What we hear more often is how bad are those who disagree.
The latter is what broke apart the coalition in the Democratic Party.
RWR picked the money issues that brought people together. Considering the profligate spending, can we not focus on the money issues again? (Rhetorical question, but still).
Reagan said that the government was spending money like drunken sailors, except that would be an insult to sailors, who spend their own money.
Huckabee - No. 1 issue in the country is jobs. Every business he knows is hunkering down, not hiring. Everything but jobs should be put on back burner.
Dean - obama isn’t in trouble with own bsse. He needs time. Agrees with Huck - jobs are #1. But stimulus has worked magnificently! Lots of cops and teachers jobs saved. Woohoo! Healthcare reform will help small business.
Huck - Throws a flag on jobs being created by stimulus bill. Referee Huck says job claims are a scam.
Not so far as I would want.
White House Party Crashers (sounds like a movie!) up next on Fox. I’ve missed most of this story, so am curious what’s going on.
Well no, he’s greasy. He did admit he doesn’t have the full support of the GOP establishment. They need somebody that can unite the party.
Good morning, Bahbah!
Here is my favorite Howard Dean story:

Of course, Brian Wilson is a graceful gazelle. LOL
"We do know for a fact that among the slew of memberships on charitable boards, Tareq Salahi is a former member of The American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP). The only way to know for a fact is because even though ATFP scrubbed all references to Salahi as a board member, he can still be found on Google cache. (Canada Free Press) Sad that White House Secret Service are looking like Keystone Kops in the aftermath of Obamas very first state house dinner in the tent.
Cato, or Heritage Foundation--one of the think tanks---studied the cost of preventative medicine. Assumptions are that it saves a lot of trouble and money. Reality showed that govt. paid and dictated preventative care sends millions of patients to the doctor/hospital unnecessarily. The vast majority are healthy and don't need it. Target those who do. The benefits paled in comparison to the costs of examining far many more millions who were healthy.
How many of us have NOT some awareness that diet and exercise affects our health?
Panel Time!
Kristol - Afghanistan is winnable war, decisive progress might not come until 2011.
Nina - This speech will be the most politically dangerous for obama. (Poor obama.) Time for conservatives to step up to the plate and support obama.
Dana - Thinks Conservatives will support obama on Afghanistan strategy. Tieing taxes to this war would be bad decision.
Kirsten Powers - obama has big problem with dem. party on Afghanistan. They want to exit.
I was more thinking along the lines of a sheep vs goats exercise.
