“The Cortez woman has an imperialist conquistador’s name .”

THAT definitely needs to be canceled.

A very recent symptom of this attack upon Western Civilization comes from a 'new' YouTube video, "Where do Mathematical Symbols Come From?" from UK's Gresham College by Sarah Hoyt, Professor of Geometry. The talk itself was excellent and informative BUT then it went to submitted questions at the end and it got academically UGLY!

At 1:03:12 this query was asked; "Are mathematical symbols free of white colonialism influence? Hopefully yes but in case they are not what would be the alternatively way forward?" This coming after the Professor Hoyt had shown various ancient number representations and highlighting that 'Arabic Numbers' were actually created in India in pre-Islamic times and then adopted by Islam scholars in the 8-900s.

"Excellent question" and while stating that modern symbology is effective on its own merits, she, Professor Hoyt, then specified a single historical case of a Nigerian mathematician of the 1700s who developed a formula to create 'magic squares' yet because a French Diplomat (dead white guy) in Siam / Thailand wrote it down, it is now called the "Siamese Method". YEP, proof of the White Supremacist Conspiracy to down-trod Black accomplishments by giving the credit to an ASIAN Country! Words (and logic) fails!

From Phosphorus in 1699 to Promethium in 1945 it took 250 years to chart the natural elements. Anybody , anywhere in the world could have contributed to it in all that time. Notice the near monopoly of Western Civilization here?

Nothing superior about that bunch.

Quite the opposite, actually.

“taboos and superstitions ruled the non-civilized world in the not too distant past”

I’d say even today, in the mid-East, Africa, Caribbean, South America, any third world country.

The early American voters were white men with property. Poor men, all women and most males of a darker shade could not usually vote until laws were passed to change the situation.

Lots of groups had a 200 year head start on our family, who only arrived in the early ‘20’s. Compared to them, WE got with the program at the speed of light! We looked around and though we experienced (still experience) some nasty bourgeois xenophobia, we realized we had to assimilate as soon as possible and as fully as possible. They wouldn't dream of squandering the many opportunities by running around whining about how badly we were treated and about what was owed to us....

But now...

Populations who seek and obtain the advantages of this system, but won't assimilate are actually rewarded by the government

And a major point is that laws were changed to more fully involve others.
Had it been so “supremisist”,All others would be simply shut out of white walled cities, left to either develop similar desirable systems or shiver in the darkness.

Western civilization has always been about sharing the benefits...not without hiccups along the way but in the end for the world’s overall advancement.

True, US laws were changed to fully involve women. It only took 300 years. Given this week’s report that a number of our US billionaires have had years when they paid NO INCOME TAXES, I would say we still have serious issues about sharing the benefits, and suffering the hiccups along the way. What ever happened to the alternative MINIMUM TAX?

Ah, a vengeance tax.

So after you tax these billionaires 50-60-90% in year one, what are you going to do in year 2?

There are some 640 billionaires. Tax them at 90% and get around 550 billion. Once.

Meanwhile almost 50% of our population pay nothing. Gonna include them too in “sharing the benefits”?
