This is how corrupt prosecutors get people to plea. They try to scare the shit out of people.

And two plus two equals four. EVERYONE KNOWS THIS. Also, EVERYONE KNOWS THAT IT IS ILLEGAL TO WITHHOLD EXCULPATORY EVIDENCE.

OK?

Please read the last three words in my most #25:

"I read on the internet that Jake was told that if he ddn't accept the plea deal, he would be jailed for 20 years and fined a million dollars. Is that correct?" Did you see the "Is that correct?" this time?

The entire point of that post was to see if anyone could verify that Jake had been threatened with 20 years in prison and a million dollar fine.

You did not answer that question, but tried to change the subject.

Best of luck to you.

How in hell could they not release him?

I can't believe that motions for habeas corpus and vacation of his conviction haven't been filed already.

...if all of the exculpatory evidence/video was available, the court will be able to establish if it was available or not. There should be no gray area here

Agreed.

Jake Angeli’s first attorney convinced him to accept what turned out to be a terrible plea deal. He plead guilty to “obstructing an official proceeding.”

He also apparently, as part of that deal, signed a waiver for a right to see any more evidence, and agreed not to appeal. He’s procedurally blocked from getting his case before another judge.

He’s boxed in far worse than Flynn was.

He’s not likely to get released without a commuting or a pardon.

I don’t know about the fine, but he was threatened with decades worth of jail time - and they’d kept him in solitary for months already, despite his documented mental health issues.

The judge made a big deal about his not understanding how big a deal what he did was as reason he was ‘too dangerous’ to be released or allowed bail.

Now, I don’t know the guy, but he has been visible in protest videos for several years. Early on, before Q-Anon got ahold of him, he was on the side of the environmentalists, and some other lefty groups. While he howls, and led protest chants, and generally acted silly, I never saw him act remotely violent.

He’s a goofy clown.

You're probably right. His current attorney, appearing on Tucker, did not sound positive about Jake's odds. It's hard to imagine that Biden would pardon Jake or commute his sentence, but stranger things have happened. Does he have any chance of being compensated in a lawsuit? In D.C.? Maybe a book deal?

I suspect that he is well and truly screwed, but I would be delighted to be wrong.

With the exculpatory evidence withheld, the conviction should be tossed out for the dirty act that it was, and an investigation started into prosecutorial misconduct.

Of course that would require a functioning country, instead of Clown World.

I think Musk taking over Twitter has opened his eyes to just how corrupt things are.

I don’t expect him to join the Right side. No Purity test here. we can agree on significant ideas and that’s a good starting point to get things done!

I agree completely about his mental issues. I have been horrified at his treatment since the beginning.

And yes, I saw the photos and videos of him at environmental protests before he became “The QAnon Shaman”. Seems he has a good heart and easily swept up in various causes, like poor Ashli Babbitt. Poor Ashi’s belief in the Q nonsense got her killed. Poor Jacob’s landed him in the pokey.

Thanks for that! I did ask an honest question, and you make a good point.

Is it the fault of Jake’s first lawyer, Watkins, that he did not ask for the J6 videos in discovery? I think when he was on Tucker he said the DOJ hid them. But DOJ claims they made all the video available to the defendants. If that is true, Watkins was not doing his job, and the new lawyers could try a Gideon v Wainwright approach. If DOJ failed to notify Watkins, that could be a discovery violation. But as we know, in DC the Constitution has been weakened.

Why the HELL didn’t TUCKER show this video????

Other Freepers have told me that for all his public support of the MAGA movement, Tucker boasted at a cocktail party that he voted for Kanye, not Trump. It's possible that he is going wobbly on January 6.

Well, I agree with Musk on this one for sure.

Me too. He has been in jail sor more than 2 yrs.

All the feds have is the flimsy evidence.

Our Justice Department and FBI are wrong on this injustice.
