I would think it depends, if experts are available, or advanced methods are available then they are, if they aren’t and the unit has no other option then the guys on the spot would do what we all used to be expected to do.

Best way to protect antitank mines from hand-probing is to seed antipersonnel mines among them. Only thing in infantry school that gave me the willies was landmine training.

That's not what is happening. The Ukrainian attacks on Russian lines include air, artillery, armor, and lighter vehicles. Obviously the infantry dismount and attack as well.
And then the Ukrainian infantryight through the trench networks, assisted by real time drone video showing the the Russians from above.
Just asking: is it ok if Russians carpet bomb these guys with cluster bombs like we are sending to Ukrainians?

Hate to tell them, but F-16s are even more vulnerable than tanks. Air superiority, they have a fighting chance. Close air support to a ground offensive, not so much. And if you are going to try to use them to blast through a mine field, good luck.

Could those minefields be largely cleared by saturation bombing with cluster munitions or do the require close air support and minesweeping?
