I'd prefer DeSantis because I'm an actual conservative but I can understand why Trump liked him.
There’s not enough antifa noodle-arm supporters to carry him to the white house. The deep state sees him and his menagerie of puzzled bathroom seekers as cannon fodder, nothing more.
And he’s going to win - no doubt in my mind. The media and alphabet agencies are so corrupt it’s inevitable. I feel like a passenger on a crippled airliner at 35,000 feet heading straight for the ocean.
I have zero confidence that Republicans will do anything remotely that effective. The ads will undoubtedly be weak and ineffective. By design.
Newsom has been running for President for over a year. He has been crisscrossing the country giving speeches and meeting with Democrat power brokers. He has been traveling to red states he banned California government officials from visiting in order to assist Democrat candidates.
It is beginning to appear the elites are attempting to set up a 2024 presidential race between Newsome and DeSantis, much as they tried to set up a Hillary- Jeb Bush race in 2016. What remains to be seen is how they manipulate events to remove both Biden and Harris from the race. As far as Trump is concerned it is very apparent the plan is to convict him of a felony, send him to jail, and then have the blue states ban anyone convicted of a felony from appearing on the presidential ballot. Likely within the GOP the establishment Republicans are examining scenarios for the party to deny the nomination to anyone convicted of a felony and facing prison time or in prison.

Biden resigns. Harris becomes POTUS. Harris declares she isn’t a candidate. She is given a back room deal. Newsome declares his candidacy and also announces Susan Rice will be his VP candidate if nominate. Obama, James Clyburn, and other black leaders immediately endorse the Newsom/Rice ticket. A black VP candidate and the endorsement of the black establishment secures the black vote.
Newsom and Rice run together against RFK, Jr. in the Dem primaries and win. Kennedy throws his support behind the ticket at the convention with a behind the scenes deal to give him a senior level policy positions (Secretary of HHS perhaps).
The Republican situation is trickier. How can the party establishment keep Trump from being selected nominee in the GOP primaries without completely alienating 20% or more of the party voter base? Stay tuned and buy lots of popcorn. The political maneuvers of the next few months will be quite the show.
With all due respect. This is not the 19th Century. All the politicians are not going to get together in a backroom in the saloon to make a deal.
Joe is old. But he's holding on. Doctors are keeping an eye on him.
The wild card is that the Democrats are going to put Donald Trump in jail so he'll be ineligible to run for the presidency in 2024.
But that's a dumb move. Joe's handlers will call off the hounds. So Trump will be able to run and lose to Biden in the general election.
But there's a chance that Trump will be in prison. So Ron DeSantis will run against Joe Biden. The election will be much more competitive. Ron DeSantis is young. Smarter than Donald. He will be able to appeal to the independents.
