I didn’t know it until recently but states do not have to show enabling clauses in their state constitutions.

I think Kipling covered this rather well in his "Road Song of the Bandar Log"

Here we sit in a branchy row,

Thinking of beautiful things we know,

Dreaming of deeds that we mean to do,

All complete, in a minute or two --

Something noble and grand and good,

Won by merely wishing we could.

Now we're going to -- never mind,

Brother, thy tail hangs down behind!

I like this one from Benny Hill:

They Said It Could Not Be Done

They said that it could not be done,
He said, “Just let me try.”
They said, ‘Other men have tried and failed’,
He answered, ‘But not I.’
They said, “It is impossible,”
He said, “There’s no such word.”
He closed his mind, he closed his heart...
To everything he heard.

He said, “Within the heart of man,
There is a tiny seed.
It grows until it blossoms,
It’s called the will to succeed.
Its roots are strength, its stem is hope,
Its petals inspiration,
Its thorns protect its strong green leaves,
With grim determination.

“It’s stamens are its skills
Which help to shape each plan,
For there’s nothing in the universe
Beyond the scope of man.”

They thought that it could not be done,
Some even said they knew it,
But he faced up to what could not be done...

...And he couldn’t bloody do it!

Yeah, they never seem to question how these clowns have the authority to do things like this.

Work 4, 10 hour days ... What’s the issue?

Hopefully no day work weeks in Pennsylvania...Business should flee in mass.

However, less work hours will not mean less pay!

Then it will mean lower benefits or fewer raises.

“...The Philadelphia lawmaker says the 40-hour work week was put into place 85 years ago, and no longer fits the needs of today’s society...”

This will only affect the government deep state drones and worthless cretins in Philadelphia who feel 40 hours is too hard.

I would propose giving them zero hours a week and fire them all. How’s that for the needs of modern day society. /spit

"And a three day work week if the majority of workers at a plant are registered Democrats."

And a three day work week if the majority of workers slackers at a plant are registered Democrats communists.

There have been absolutely no surviving "Democrats" since the 1970s... That former party is extinct, having been absorbed into the American Communist Party...

How can it not pass? The Democrats took complete control of Pennsylvania in 2022.

Read the article. Same pay for 32 hours you’d get for 40 hours. Now some may take another job with all the extra time they get now.

It would require businesses with more than 500 employees to reduce their work week from 40 to 32 hours a week.

Boy, that would do wonders for the economy, huh?

There is nothing in either the US or Pennsylvania Constitutional that gives government the power to tell business owners how many hours their employees can work and the compensation employers must provide their employees.

Pffffft. As if Democrats care what the Constitution says.

The fact that the legislature believes they can and/or should place this regulation on private business.... should make some PA businesses start looking to move elsewhere. Idiots.

No way businesses can absorb a 20% increase in costs without improving productivity.
