He’s out in left field on this, like when he sat on the sofa with Pelosi.

In 8 months, McCarthy;
Refused to release the January 6 tapes except a very few to Tucker.

Refused to lift a finger to stop the illegitimate activities of Trump.

Lives with a homosexual.

Gave Carte Blanche to Ukraine.

Gave Biden his “inflation reduction” porkulous bill that removed all spending caps through the end of 2025.

Then flipped the finger to the Freedom caucus and colluded with the Democrats to give the Biden government all it wanted.

Despite massive evidence of a systematic Bribery operation and that he sexually abused his daughter in the shower, he refuses to impeach him and works against such efforts.

Newt, when someone betrays you this much, there MUST be consequences or this crap will never end.

I cannot think of of a thing McCarthy has done for us.

I'm glad McCarthy has been ousted but I'm a bit confused on why everyone is celebrating and not analyzing the vote. Only 8 republicans were for McCarthy's ouster. All the dims voted for him to be removed and the final count showed the 8 repubs as well. So all the republicans voted against his removal.

This doesn't mean a victory imo. Democrats are always 20 steps ahead of republicans in terms of strategy. There's always an agenda.

Gaetz was absolutely right but he has few allies in the House and I believe things are going to get ugly for him from the despicable republican party.

Remember, McCarthy was ousted by the votes of all Democrats. They were unanimous, as they always are,
They were joined by few Reps.
This is great success of Hakim Jeffries, AOC and Nancy Pelosi.
Split the Republicans, so they cannot do anything!

McCarthy did great job, navigating small majority in the house (with wide spectrum of Republicans), hostile press, president and senate.
I am not sure anybody else can do it!

So, we are be back with Rats running the country for as far as I can see.
Globalism won!!!

Those few RINO’s who voted against the speaker are traitors!

Yes, Goetz and company are the true RINOs! They just proved it.

In 2009 72% of the country, and an even larger percentage of the Republican voters, did not want Obamacare. The govt takeover of healthcare was along purely ideological grounds. For the 2010 midterm election, the professional Republican apparatus campaigned on this single issue – repeal Obamacare. The voters destroyed the Democrats and flipped 67 seats to Republican control. The professional Republicans wanted the House, frustrated American voters gave it to them.

The Republicans did nothing.

In 2012, the professional Republicans campaigned on retaining the House and asked to begin a process of taking down the Democrat control of the Senate. Remember, it was a 60/40 Senate when the Obamacare boondoggle was begun. Keep the House, help us take Senate seats, and we will repeal Obamacare and balance the budget. That was the call of the 2012 professional Republicans. The voters delivered. The GOPe kept the house, took 6 seats in the Senate and introduced a wave of fresh Republican blood.

The Republicans did nothing.

In the 2014 midterm election, the professional Republicans campaigned on retaining the House and now flipping the Senate with more GOP seats. Keep the House, give us the Senate majority, and we will repeal Obamacare and deliver a balanced budget. The voters again delivered. Beginning in January 2015, the Republicans controlled the House and the Senate majorities for Obama’s last two years.

The Republicans did nothing.

Worse still, even with professional Republican control of both chambers of congress, President Obama never had to use his veto pen.

alt♦ In the 2016 election, after the professional Republicans could no longer stop/block candidate Donald Trump, they said if we get the White House, retain the House and retain the Senate, we will repeal Obamacare, return to regular budgetary order, and balance the budget. Stunningly, against all the odds, the voters yet again delivered. President Trump won the election; Republicans now held the White House, the House and the Senate – as requested.

The Republicans did nothing.

Worse still, the professional Republicans acted as if they were the dog that just caught the car. Now they had no excuses, and as a result there was an exodus of retirements announced from the caucus of the professionally Republican to begin in 2018.

Simultaneously, the professional Republicans passively allowed the targeting of Donald Trump by a fully weaponized intelligence apparatus and justice system to commence. To say the professionally Republican were willfully blind would be polite and generously honest.

In the background the RNC did nothing. The California ballot harvesting operation of 2018 reflected a complete lack of action by the RNC or CA GOP. We all well remember how that operation expanded nationwide in 2020, again with the RNC doing nothing.

This is the reality of what took place between the elections of 2010 and 2020. Every ask of the professionally rRpublican apparatus was delivered by voters. Every ask of the voters in return was ignored. Effective January 2021, Obamacare still exists, no budget was ever produced, the borders were unsecured, the economy tanked due to Biden policy, energy and printing presses. Crises, along with insufferable government mandates, amplified and expanded from coast to coast.

The Green New Deal was passed by Republicans and Democrats, and the collapse of the economy came with it.

Clear enough?

Suddenly, as if there was no background of repeated broken promises and a complete failure to deliver on any key request, Kevin McCarthy and his legion of professionally Republican supporters pretend they cannot fathom why the base voters are more than happy to support Matt Gaetz.

Newt considers himself a Reagan conservative. He claims to adhere to the U.S. Constitution, but his record - both in and out of Congress - has demonstrated many deviations from from constitutionalism and conservatism. (See here and here.) At the same time, Newt is also a visionary who has written about the new, so-called Third Wave civilization, which is in the process of changing the world. He wrote a Preface for the Tofflers' 1995 book, Creating a New Civilization. Alvin and Heidi Toffler, a futurist couple, expect the New Civilization to replace traditional Christianity with Secular Humanism

McCarthy was too willing to compromise with the left, too often. He forgot that compromising with bad policy is like adding sewage to your drinking water. And where were the spending cuts he advocated?

Gaetz a traitor? Or the guy standing in front of the tank in Tiananmen Square?

However one answers that question exemplifies why we are so divided and why the answer is so consequential.

“This was a leader who both gained seats in 2020, gained seats in 2022,...”

Yet when Trump asserts we gained seats in 2020 and 2022 (and Trump is more likely than McCarthy to be the cause of that), these same establishment types whine that we should have gained more.

“...increased the number of women members, increased the number of veterans, increased the number of minority members...”

Leftist identity politics virtue signalling.

“...and he had a vision for a better future.”

Nobody cares about a vision. We care about results, and the results of McCarthy are that Joe Biden and the Democrats got everything they wanted, and the base of the party got nothing.

Agreed. I know the FReepers upset about McCarthy are the right ones to be upset.

McCarthy has done nothing and lied about it. I’m fine with “chaos”.
Status quo leads us to the exact same destination as Democrats.
It’s just at a slower pace.

I remember when Newt famously betrayed the woman that he brought in as House Historian when she was falsely accused of being antisemitic.

Instead of coming to her defense he abandoned her to the wolves in the press. Total cowardice. Ultimately the ADL stepped up and said the woman was innocent.

Refused to lift a finger to stop the illegitimate activities of Trump.

Please specify the illegitimate activities of Trump. Or did you mean the activities AGAINST Trump?

“I’m a bit confused on why everyone is celebrating and not analyzing the vote”

Because we already know 90% or more of elected Republicans have no spine and no principles. It’s an established fact around these parts, no need to wallow in it.
