The corporate media has had a massive Leftist bias for as long as I can remember. I distinctly remember my dad pointing out just how biased they were back in the 70s.
They used to lie and deny it. Occasionally some of the more honest ones would admit that OK, its true that the vast majority in journalism were Left leaning Democrats, voted and contributed that way, BUT said they had professional standards which ensured objectivity.
That too was false, but admittedly, most did at least try to respect a certain code of professionalism and journalistic ethics.
That went completely out the window in 07 as soon as Obama appeared. They started all but fellating him live on air and did not stop for his entire time in office. The mask completely slipped and they no longer even tried to hide it. Everything became about their narrative rather than actual facts or events. They got away with it and did influence the public for a while but people gradually figured it out which caused everybody but - shock shock - Leftist Democrats - to lose all trust or confidence in them.....which caused their audience share to tank. They’ll never get that back.

The tyrant Lincoln was using the army to shut down opposition press starting in 1861. In May 1861 the New York Journal of Commerce published a list of 100 Northern newspapers that opposed the Lincoln administration. Lincoln ordered the Postmaster General and the army to shut them all down.
May 18, 1864, Lincoln order that directly issued to General John Dix: “You will take possession by military force, of the printing establishments of the New York World and Journal of Commerce . . . and prohibit any further publication thereof . . . you are therefore commanded forthwith to arrest and imprison . . . the editors, proprietors and publishers of the aforesaid.”
So much for the first amendment.

One of Trump’s many brilliant moves was to deliberately antagonize the media. The elite talking heads’ anger toward Trump made them openly display their bias. They were always tilted toward Democrats and leftists, of course. But Trump goaded them into being much more brazen about it. Only those who vote Democrat no matter what trust the media anymore. The leftist “mainstream” “journalists” are now just “preaching to the choir” and lack the power to convince anybody to vote Democrat who wouldn’t have anyway.

It wasn’t the rise of alternative platforms it was your lying in service to your personal politics.
Isn’t it wonderful? They’re no longer the gatekeepers! They no longer own anything but their own opinions and research, which they’re still free to print.
What? Helen Thomas’ only problem was that she had a vag? If she had outdoor plumbing, she’d have been ok?
There was plenty of bad journalism back then, too. Highly partisan and nasty. After the War Between the States and Lincoln’s assassination, they solemnly swore to reform themselves. Which worked for a few decades, then slowly they fell back on their natural inclination. Maybe by the time that FDR came along, journos became monolithic and never heard voices outside their circle jerk. Wm. F. Buckley, et al., became brave voices in the wilderness, culminating in Rush Limbaugh and his band of merry dissenters, culminating in the old FNC. And then the legacy press struck back, becoming so dogmatic, partisan and venal that they were scary, and FNC became squishy and Rush died, and now here we are, with smartphone journalists and vloggers, a brave and energetic new reform movement.
You news organizations lost power because you lie and propagandize.
Quite frankly, people disrespect and despise you. Can’t believe liars.
I’m happy people like Dan Rather and Walter Cronkite got to see their empire of lies destroyed.

Well, Emma, if you really want to regain trust, you start by rejecting EVERYTHING in the WEF.
The liberal media has no power any longer. The truth and news can be had without them.
The internet did not kill the news, they killed themselves when they decided to stop reporting the truth and instead tried to push woke agendas.
Sometime around in 1970’s most news organizations decided that telling the truth about what was happening in the world was contributing to racism. So they all got together along with all the journalism departments in the colleges and decided they would no longer report any news that could be used by racists as propaganda.
That was exactly the point in time when things started going downhill for them.
The media is nothing but bloggers.
A blogger is someone who posts a headline someone else published then gives their opinion about it. We saw this form of news shows when Fox News was created in the 1990’s. There were no facts or figures, just a bunch of idiots sitting around giving their speculations and opinions about a headline. Now, that’s all there is. Even CNN has gotten rid of their field reporters.
exactly! not only will they not print it, they will say “Trump was on the stump today spewing his lies again” or sometime like that.
