No Americans would be homeless if the government treated us as well as it does illegal invaders.
The sad part is that many of the landlords decided to quit as well. We were told by most to put their property up for sale when the lease ran out. The renters who had kept paying the rent were hurt as well as they were told that they had to find some place else to live when their lease ended.
A few of them managed to buy the rental. Most did not. The houses were snapped up in days of being put on the market.
The same story happened again and again all over the country.
The contraction of the rental market and the number of renters who suddenly had to find new housing had a hand in creating this current problem.
And worse those people who got out of the rental business are not getting back in. They can not afford to do so.
"Tax Credit" confuses the issue because investors - not tenants - are awarded Tax Credits. Tenants receive rental agreements that are often 50% or more below the geographic average.
I believe that LIHTC is actually the largest low income housing program in the USA.
The final rental decision is up to landlords, but they are not required to verify citizenship or Green Cards.
Every scrap of real estate, apartment, and “affordable housing” is being scooped up by organizations giving illegals aliens a free place to live. The democrats know the poor and idiot minorities will vote for democrats regardless. Now though, the illegals rule this nation and they need their support.
As with Denver's wee crisis, or San Fransisco's or NYC's or Chicago's or those Democrats in Maine and Massachusetts floating the insanity that people take "migrants" into their homes, the entirety of this mess is made in DC by Democrats and RINOs and money-grubbing NGOs.
As so, again with clarity, the "fundamental transformation" of these United States as openly bragged about by Obama, is THE root cause.
It is anti taxpayer to force taxpayers to compete with other states to give corporate handouts. I’m not sure of the answer but taxpayers should never be forced to provide handouts to compete with taxpayers in other states.
