You are posting left-wing propaganda, do you really believe we have 52 military bases on Guam?
Or 119 bases in Japan, and so on?

I believe under the Donald no us troops were killed on foreign soil.
Not even close. According to one set of data, in 2017, 12 troops KIA in Afghanistan, in 2018 it was 13, in 2019 it was 17, and in 2020, Trump’s last year in office, it was 4. So total under Trump was 46 KIA.

We have perpetually open borders, millions of illegals pouring in, while our military is in the Middle East!
And it’s all part of The Plan.

It wasn’t the Al Tanf Garrison in Syria that was struck, but the Tower 22 base in Jordan, about 15 miles away.

Wikipedia identifies about 85 US military bases by their USFJ administrative code, which is a lot closer to 119 than any number your gonna pull out of your hind quarters.
The real question is why there are ANY US bases in Japan 75+ years after the end of WW2?

You believe we have 119 military bases in Japan, 52 in Guam, and so on, and you don’t see China as a threat.
I accept that you believe that.

Interests? Have you heard of the petrodollar and the use of the US Dollar as the currency of international reserve? Has it occured to you that oil is an international commodity and global prices will affect the US? Has it ocured to you that our allies depend on Middle Eastern petrol and gas?
We pull out and we give the Middle East to China and the Yuan replaces the dollar. We suddenly have to pay our debt and at 10% interest rates. China dominates the globe.

I thought that the US was largely self-sufficient in oil and gas these days.
There is no reason that the US should export any, so we can stop being part of a global oil market.
The EU can arrange to get oil and gas from either the Middle East or from Russia, which they were happy to do until we blew up Nord Stream.
To: rmlew
Have you heard of the petrodollar and the use of the US Dollar as the currency of international reserve? So in sum - the USA must have bases on the Syria/Jordan border, in the middle of nowhere, where they didn't have them until recently - to protect the Bretton Woods system and Petrodollar? That's the ONLY reason they are there? Or are there other reasons, such as Obama's failed attempt to depose Assad, who is still in power 12 years later?
Also, who decided this is the correct strategy, even if the wars were noble (which they are not)? Shouldn't that be Congress' job?
What's directly hurting the Bretton Woods/USD reserve currency status is our massive debt - from bloated marxist government at home, and fruitless wars abroad
You should note too something called Triffin's Dilemma. The more the USD is the world's reserve currency, the more we must export dollars, which means exporting jobs, moving manufacturing overseas, and financializing our economy.
