The Israelis missed their chance. They had just been assaulted on their own ground by a murderous barrage of missiles and had - by a hair - mustered enough firepower and firepower of their friends to down nearly all of them. Since the world saw this in real time, Israel had the opening to justifiably take out the Iranian nuke program once and for all.

The Iranians don't have the kind of resources to develop effective countermeasures against this new facility of its self-selected enemies. That's because (a) they don't have the resources for it, and (b) they keep pouring resources into proxies like Hamas and Hezbollah to provoke these self-selected enemies.
