I've never played Halo or any of the other computer war games since my nephew had Space Invaders, so I will just ask the question; do those war games show civilian casualties or just the "bad guys with guns"?

You can not win a war if you insist on zero civilian casualties. Every mission planner tries to maximize the odds of success, while minimizing collateral damage. Unfortunately for western civilization, our enemies frequently place a very low value on the lives of innocents, including women and children. Were we to allow their disregard for the lives of their innocents influence our mission planning, we could not prevail in combat against them. These civilian casualties can be directly attributed to Hamas.
