Guess he forgot about monasteries keeping knowledge about farming & animal husbandry, science, etc. throughout the so-called Dark ages. The Renaissance, Western Civilization, etc. The monasteries not only kept, but also expanded knowledge
Thanks to monasteries large tracts of land in Europe were cultivated and the monks experimented with different crops and techniques.
When Christianity took over the continent (around 850 AD -- yes, it was predominant earlier, but only after the Saxon wars could it be dominant), it created a glut for labor as there was no slavery of Christians and slaves of others (Balts, Moors etc.) were looked at uneasily.
This ended up creating an innovative environment for labor saving devices.
Due to THAT, Europe from the High Middle Ages - 850-1000 AD, already laid down the seeds to progress further than the rest of the world
In that same period:
- The Islamic world initially progressed as the majority were still Christian-Zoroastrian-other but as that waned, and Al-Ghazali said that science was anti-Islamic (a simplification yes), that was the start of the end of that world's progress. It was only kept alive under Turkic and later Islamicized Turko-Mongols with their conquests. But by 1700 they were not going to catch up
- India - it had been mired in Buddhist/Jainist influenced adharma versions of Hinduism which promoted keeping things just the way they were (A belief that the old ways are the only ways). They were also divided into different kingdoms from the Satavahanas to the Cholas
- China - the collapse of the Tang led to the same issue as India - divided and "the old ways are the only ways"

I spent quite a bit of time over the weekend watching a marathon of classic Warner Brothers cartoons. I hadn’t seen most of them in decades, but I still remembered them. They were clever, funny, creative, and made by people who could draw, unlike many, many contemporary efforts. And, if there were mental defectives, perverts, and garden-variety jagoffs among the creators of those classics, those characteristics were never reflected in their work, unlike many, many contemporary efforts.

"Seth McFarland is a Christian-hating atheist. An evil man." Please pray for him. It's probably his only way out.

It’s interesting how some folks bitterly hate the God whose existence they profess to deny.
