First, I did not suggest domestic violence by reading the article. It was an alternative to accusing the missing wife of having a boyfriend.

It had nothing to do with him being a male (which I am one) or him being a Christian (which I am also).

In domestic violence across our country, it is a fact men are more often the abusers. That doesn't make it right.

Christians aren't perfect, either. Just forgiven. That doesn't make their actions right, though, either.

Don't assume anything until this family is found and their story is told.

How about he was secretly an abusive husband, and she feared for her life?

Domestic violence is real, and I personally know people who went years being abused by their husbands without anyone ever knowing.

If it's not a big deal, why have people complained about US ground troops being assigned to a UN contingent in Europe during Clinton's term?

I just happen to think our Constitution states that our troops, ground, air or naval, should answer to our President and only our President, not some officer or leader of another country.

Argument without proof. It takes faith to believe in evolution. Sounds like a religion.

Both theories, Big Bang or Evolution, (which are almost always linked by today's scientists) have no basis in fact, evidence, or even sound reasoning. While this forum is not appropriate for the lengthy debate needed, here are some pages with links AND references.

Humans and Dinosaurs--Several sites have shown both human hand and foot prints fossilized in the same strata as dinosaur prints. How is that possible if they were seperated by millions of years of evolution? It's not possible. The tracks had to be made very close together in time. Take a look at the fossils at the Paluxy River fossils near Glen Rose Texas found in 1908 and fossils found in 1999 near Tuba City, Arizona. These are only 2 examples of many.

This site shows a teddy bear and a paper rose that went through the same process of petrification, not in years, but days.

The earth is covered in geologic layers that scientist propose show the age of the earth. What they can't show is how these layers were formed. Here is a site that will explain the misconception the scientists accept as fact, and how these layers are actually sediment from a world wide flood.

This site also talks about supposedly extinct animals are still living, specifically the coelacanth, the same animal in fossil records, NOT a new member of the family. If one can do it, others can too.

All I want to do is encourage people to study for themselves and not take blindly statements made by others as fact.

Poor argument, asking for proof of something you simply don't WANT to believe in.

Why don't you tell us why and how our universe was created from nothing? You can't, because there is no evidence for evolution and a big bang event. Evolution takes faith to believe, and that is the basic definition of a religion.

Darwin's theory of evolution is based upon observable adaptations of living creatures, (birds all related to each other). His theory is "micro-evolution", or better described as natural adaptation to a current environment. This is easily observable, but it is wholely different than what people want to argue over and don't have a clue about. There is absolutely no proof or evidence for an animal EVER evolving into a new species. "Macro-evolution" (one species turning into another after millions of years) simply doesn't exist, has never existed, and will never be proven.

There is proof that humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time (in fossil records), proof of a world wide cataclysmic event (layers of flood sediment uniform around the entire globe), proof that petrification doesn't take millions of years (actual experiments showing it can be done in weeks), and proof of living creatures that were supposedly extinct millions of years ago (but somehow still living).

Do some honest research, and quit regurgitating old misproven theories and stories. The facts are available, and I hope people learn them for themselves.

There is actually federal law that says state governors have authority over their respective national guard units. This includes getting governors' approval before relocating, combining, or eliminating units in those states.

Also, most people don't realize that when governors call up units for state disasters, those units are paid out of state budgets.

This federal judge was really upholding the current law on the books, not legislating from the bench.

Since when did poking eyes, kicking, biting, administering electric shock, etc., get switched from child abuse to coporal punishment? In my state of Tennessee, anything beyond a hand swat on the behind is considered child abuse.

Next thing you know, a bunch of Mexicans will be crossing the border asking for jobs or hand-outs . . .

I work in a Domestic Violene program, and I can tell you for a fact that the majority of domestic violence cases are still men abusing women. There are cases where women are abusers, children are abusers, parents are abusers, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, even "just friends". I challenge anyone to do a legitimate study and you won't find less than 90% where men are the abusers in reported domestic violence cases.

Men get abused, too. They just don't report it, nor do they typically file charges against women. (Men find it embarrassing to be beat up by a woman). Also, most places the police can't or won't do anything unless there are charges files. About the woman who was let out of jail to only stab and kill her husband, I don't know the case, but I can only imagine there's more to it than what's being posted here.

Oh, by the way, I am one of the few men in any Domestic Violence program, and I am very conservative politically. I'm just irritated that the posts here are slamming this problem of domestic violence as only a "liberal" cause, when I see the tragic truth walk through my door day after day. This problem doesn't discriminate no matter what you believe politically or religiously, and unfortunately crosses all the spectrums.

My grandfather is rolling in his grave right now. What this idiot is ignoring is the fact that if the US had not taken Iwo Jima, the Japanese would have used it against us.

Is any land worth the price in blood? I honestly don't know, but I know my freedom is.

During the recent Iraqi elections, here in Nashville an Iraqi man was interviewed on TV after he voted. He was an interpreter with the team that caught Saddam. On camera he basically confirmed how Saddam was captured in a spider-hole.

I would tend to believe a jubilant free Iraqi man, rather than some "ex-US marine" that now lives in Lebanon.

As a former Rescue/EMT, I can tell you that most if not all government or private ambulance services will bill you if they carry you to the hospital. These services simply do not get enough money allocated from local governments.

Fire departments do the same thing. The squad I worked with billed people who were rescued from car accidents. Some didn't like it, but most understood that we had to find some way to pay for these services, or these services simply wouldn't exist.

What we told people when they questioned the bill was to file it with your car insurance, who will typically pay up. If the insurance didn't pay, well, we didn't force the person to pay.

I'm going to e-mail and call my Rep., however, I don't think this resolution will work. It may pass, alright, but it won't work. Only a Constitutional amendment will have the power to make the Supreme Court do anything.

This isn't what needs to happen, though. The Constitution needs to be enforced, not amended. With these justices looking to foreign court rulings, they are by simple fact of law, violating their oath to uphold the Constitution as the supreme rule of law. These justices need to be impeached. Any justice that makes any ruling by looking at a foreign law or court should be removed from the bench.

Congress needs to step up.

Unfortunately, Tennessee was not one of the states affected by the Supreme Court's ruling yesterday. Tennessee already does not execute minors.

Still, remember, life in prison without parole is still an option. And for a young male, not a pleasent one, where young prisoners get abused frequently.

Soooo . . . are the churches that invited Kerry to speak from the pulpit this past year going to lose their IRS non-profit status anytime soon?

If this 17 year old really wrote this, I would wager he embellished quite a bit about the wood block part, solely to put an emotional spin on the story. The "aww, shucks, I feel sorry for that kid" goes a long way in convincing people.

Well, I feel sorry for that kid, but not for the way he wants me to. I feel sorry that the kid has lived in a messed up "family". We are supposed to teach our children good solid morals, and our moral code has always been based on the Bible. God says homosexuality is a sin. By allowing homosexuals to marry, we woud be saying it's okay to sin. No way I will ever support that.
