feel sorry for leftists. I realize many of my readers are leftists. I have to make a distinction here, because “Democrat” and “leftist” are not synonymous terms, as the whole flap over the Rizzo statue makes obvious to people now. There’s a lot of them in Philadelphia and they pretty-much signal off each other like cattle moo-ing their way across a pasture. Few of you realize what is coming, but I already see the winds blowing. You will feel that wind turn gale force as the months go by. The people I’m feeling sorry for are you guys, gals–and other–who...

EL AVIV (JTA) – The arrival of U.S. fighter jets in Israel, part of a monthlong arms drop, was critical to turning the tide of the Yom Kippur War in favor of the Jewish state. But for the American pilots who volunteered to deliver the aircraft, it was just another mission. Retired U.S. fighter pilot Roy “Bubba” Segars, left, and retired Israeli fighter pilot Jacob “Booby” Daube holding a photo they took together during the 1973 Yom Kippur War at the same Tel Nof air base in Israel, June 28, 2017. Scripture teaches us that “when pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with humility comes wisdom.” (Prov 11:2). During the 2016 election, I was adamantly opposed to Donald Trump. Much of the media cited a piece I wrote in mid-February planting my flag against Trump as one of the major pieces to spark the #NeverTrump movement. I wrote in that piece that if the GOP went with Trump that the party was not only going to lose the White House, but see devastation down ballot. All the polling showed it. The polling had been right during the primaries. Trump was the...

That was a “major national-security address”? Hillary Clinton’s folks billed her San Diego speech Thursday as a big deal. And it certainly was a prime opportunity to lay out her views on foreign policy and America’s role in the world. But what she delivered was a 45-minute rant against Donald Trump — with nary a clue about her plans for leading America on the international stage. Worse, her string of dump-on-Trump quips might’ve worked better if she had substituted her name for his, starting with her attack on Trump’s “series of rants” — a perfect description of her own speech....

Donald Trump must apologize to Muslim Americans and to Jersey City for his untrue, divisive and reprehensible comments perpetuating an old rumor we thought had rightly died. By repeating – and indeed embellishing – this hateful rumor, Trump once again ratchets up the ugliness in the current political climate. Thousands and thousands of people in Jersey City did not cheer the destruction of the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001. Period. End of story. There is no need to continue to "fact check'' his words. The truth is that Trump's statements are factually, ethically and morally wrong. Those of...

On Tuesday, November 10, the Minnesota Student Association (MSA)-the undergraduate student government at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities (UMN)- rejected a resolution for a moment of recognition on future anniversaries of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Theo Menon, the student group representative to MSA for the College Republicans (CRs) at UMN, introduced the resolution; MSA's forum voted against it 36-23 (with three abstentions). The proposed resolution pointed to the university's lack of any sort of commemoration regarding the attacks on 9/11. It then called for a campus-wide moment of recognition on every September 11 from now on. "I wrote...

Great news: Jane Fonda has been chosen to receive the American Film Institute Lifetime Achievement Award. The two time Oscar winner will be celebrated by Hollywood on June 5, 2014 in Hollywood. Fonda won Best Actress twice, in 1971 for Klute and 1977 for Coming Home. She’s been nominated seven times altogether, for They Shoot Horses Don’t They, Julia, The China Syndrome, On Golden Pond, and The Morning After. Steve Golding's (9/11 survivor) famous tribute to the heroes of that day: http://www.webdesignbyken.com/attack_911.htmlI survived the attack itself by being late to work that day, but I lost many people who were not so lucky. I created the page to honor those I lost, those that America had lost and all of those dedicated, caring human beings who responded to this wanton cowardly act and who we refer to simply as heroes. To help sustain our nation resolve while we respond to this horrific attack. Images of that day are burnt into my soul that I will never forget. Images...

Today we traveled from Caen, to Sainte-Mere-Eglise, home to the museum for the United States Airborne troops from WW2. The town was abuzz with dozens and dozens of U.S. Military jeeps and tanks. Every one of them driving the streets, yes, driving. These are all WW2 hardware, which was never returned to the U.S, and have been restored to pristine, war era condition. To add to the realism, dozens and dozens of men were dressed in U.S. military uniform, the same worn during the D Day invasion. Honestly, it was difficult to not believe these men/actors, weren’t the real thing.

That picture of the remarkable statue was taken by me not long ago. It is prominently displayed at St. Ephrem's R.C. Church, about a mile or so from where I live in Brooklyn, an area with traditional values and a long memory. To be honest, I was quite surprised to see September 11th falling on a Tuesday this year- man, I gotta check the calendar more closely and often! That's the day of the show, when it is broadcast terrestrially over the airwaves. And those airwaves fell silent for months after Sept. 11, 2001 because our transmitter, like so many...

George W. Bush spoke this afternoon at the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. It was a beautiful speech. One of his best. From his speech today: On 9-11, “The most lives lost on American soil on a single day since the Battle of Antietam.” “One of the lessons of 9-11 is that evil is real and so is courage.” “At the moment American democracy was under attack our citizens defied their captors by holding a vote. The choice they made would cost them their lives. And they knew it. Many passengers called their loved ones to say good-bye. Then...

They pedaled through intense heat, pouring rain and pounding hail, but nearly a dozen firefighters who left on bicycles from Los Angeles six weeks ago made it to New York just in time. "They've been unstoppable," said Erik Scott, spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department. "I think some of the amazing things they've done is the terrain they've gone through," Scott said. "They are exhausted but in good spirits." As part of the national "Ride for 9-11," firefighters from Los Angeles city and county and other stations across Southern California cycled cross-country to raise money for charity and honor...
