One does have to wonder why so many Canadians were on this plane. Europe is much closer and has far more populace, so if they were trafficking around the sanctions, one would have expected mostly EU people (other than Ukrainians), would have been on it.
There is no mystery here. Ukrainian airlines no doubt has the cheapest flight from Toronto to many places in Eatern Europe and the Middle East. The Iranian-Canadians connected in Kiev for the flight to Iran.
Have they released the full passenger list?
I figured they were ethnic Iranians, but it’s not like the US doesn’t have any, same for Europe. Just seems like a lot.
Anyway, I expect we’ll learn more about the passengers in the upcoming weeks.
As far as shooting the Ukraine plane down they never mentioned what kind of war this is; While the MSM and reporting news agencies reporting such incidents knowingly avoid referencing the religious aspect of these conflicts. Portray the conflicts going on between entities in the area as territorial when they are actually sectarian based on enforcing absolute conformity to a theocracy. That orders followers to adhere to Koranic laws that go unquestioned by leading monotheistic religious leaders like Pope Francis obey what they claim are Our Creator’s orders which has them authorized by God to execute unbelievers including those fleeing the area they control.

I was in Holland right after 9/11. Met an obviously middle eastern looking guy with a heavy accent who claimed he was Swedish. That was totally confusing to me. I didn’t understand at the time that many Iranians refuse to say they are Iranians due to politics. Either they call themselves Persians or whatever country they live in.

Yes. The Canadians claim the Iranian-Canadians as Canadians while the Iranians just consider them Iranian. That’s common with dual nationals.
