For years, I thought the 9/11 conspiracy theories were disgusting… not anymore.
Now, I view 9/11 / War on Terror exactly the same way I view Watergate scandal / Covid / Covid Response / Stolen Election / Jan 6 Fedsurrection : Engineered crises all.

I was sitting at the dock at Exxon Chemicals in Lynchburg, Virginia getting unloaded. My wife called me and told me a plane had flown into the WTC. I got the local broadcast station and their national news department was on.
There was a construction company doing expansion work on the plant and construction workers were crowding into my truck for hours watching my little TV. Not much work was getting done.
The guesses as to who was responsible were all over the map. When the Pentagon got hit everyone was sure it was the Russians or Chinese.

The rock band RUSH was to come out with their Vapor Trails album that fall, but postponed it until the spring of 2002. The album was the first in a long time after the drummer (and lyricist) Neil Peart suffered losing his daughter in a car crash and then his wife to cancer six months later.
The album is mostly about pain and loss, and eventual recovery. I have never heard them talk about it, but with their delay in the album I wonder if some songs or lyrics were changed a bit to reflect on the hell that was 9-11.

Rick Rescorla (from “They were soldiers once and young”) was in charge of security for one of the big firms in one of the towers. After the van attack he and a bunch of other war veterans and security guys got together to figure out how the terrorists would attack again and come up with a plan.
They all decided that the terrorists would hijack planes and fly them into the buildings. The overall building security plan for an attack was to shelter in place. Rick’s plan for his firm was to evacuate down the stairwells. He made them practice it often - ALL the way down!
On 9-11 Rick got all(?) of the employees of his firm evacuated (against the building orders to shelter in place) as well as hundreds of other people.
He was last seen running up the stairs to help others escape when the second plane hit. He was killed in the attack.
