One of the unpleasant surprises from the Texeira Ukraine War leak is that the official briefing documents used internally (USA eyes only) took the Ukraine casualty propaganda numbers for themselves and the Russians as legit.

In addition, it appears that the count of Russian vehicle losses was from Orxy - a private group of Ukraine cheerleaders using open source photos.

The USA has a trillion dollar military and a multi-billion Defence Intelligence Agency which supposedly produces this sort of data.

Instead they base on strategy and operational planning on Ukraine War propaganda, and vehicle estimates from the Ghost of Kiev.

No wonder the Counter-Offensive was such a disaster !

"There is a great deal that we do not know, but Congressional oversight seems mostly satisfied that the US gets sufficient value for the cost to maintain the CIA and other spy agencies."

Some oversight, when you had the CIA, spying on the U.S. Senate during Obama's administration, and of course, no one was ever held accountable for it, and it's likely that the CIA and other agencies have never stopped spying on Congress. They've been abusing their powers for eons, and will continue with impunity. I'm not gullible enough to believe that Congressional Oversight knows what any of them are truly up to. Congress only knows, what the CIA allows them to know. And Congress, in reality, doesn't really want to know, because then they might have to do something about it, and neither party is worthy of anyone's trust these days, to do the right thing.

The Texeira leak was not of high level intelligence, the apex of which is the President's Daily Brief. Even today, the consensus history of WW II has gaps, due to the omission of high level intel documents like regular reports based on Enigma decrypts. Read "Marching Orders: The Untold Story Of World War II," by Bruce Lee, on the subject.

As for the Ukraine War, my surmise is that the highest levels of the Biden NSC team have a clear picture of what is going on, with policy driving the intelligence data that is permitted to be circulated at the lower levels. Key US generals long ago projected that a stalemate was the most likely outcome, not a victorious Ukrainian counter-offensive.

You have a point, but less than you might think. I expect that a second Trump administration will produce a house-cleaning of the intel agencies and a new era of genuine Congressional oversight. More fundamentally, your criticism as to cost does not get to the heart of the issue, which would require a full audit of intel agency performance, with unlimited access to documents and personnel.

This seems very unlikely, given that Jake Sullivan was pencilling in a major role for himself in a supposed Nuremberg-style trials of Russian “War Crimes”.

All predicated on a Counter-Offensive that was so successful that it would cause a Regime collapse and surrender in Russia.

That's a nice thought, but there are no guarantees in life as we found out in 2020. I'm afraid I don't have much faith in a system that allowed a Federal election to be stolen in front of everyone's eyes. Gore tried to steal the 2000 election, and it fell to the Supreme Court to decide who our President was going to be a month later. There had been rampant fraud in Democrat-controlled Florida counties for years, and after 2000, Republicans acted as if nothing had happened, and sat on their hands the next 20 years. They are as much to blame for 2020 as the Democrats. Just know, that a government that will steal an election to get rid of a President, is the same government that will murder a President or President-elect if they can't get rid of him any other way.

That is the danger for Trump - if he wins.

I think he is safe from the Deep State until then. These people are primarily foxes, not lions. Their comfort zone is manipulation of administrative structures, not violent murder of political opponents.

There are certainly people in the intel/military capable of that. But there is a lot less personal risk to grease foreign rag heads than the most popular politician in the country.

Why stop there with the catalog of gloom? In far too few years, we and everyone we love will be dead. And it may come sooner and with great misery if the Sun generates an EMP that fries the entire planet's power lines and electronics. Or maybe some Russian colonel with a nuke will decide to touch off a nuclear war. Or a wayward asteroid could do to us what it did to the dinosaurs.

On the upside, the Democratic coalition is in disarray, with Jews and Muslims both angry. With the world teetering on the edge, even the Deep State may prefer Trump to Biden. Who knows, but saving the country may be enough of an inducement to let Trump win and carry out his program.

The most likely outcome of the Russo-Ukraine War will be a stalemate, followed by a frozen conflict that is resolved when Putin passes from the scene by coup or natural death.

Democrat divisions. The last cope of the BoomerCons.

That Party ruled America for decades while having Klansmen, Segregationists, Anarchists, JewLiberals, negroid communists, good government progressives, urban machine corruptocrats, Courthouse Dems, all in one party.

Jews have been expelled from the Left / Regime “Friend Coalition”. That’s significant for them. Not for the rest of us.

My analysis is that the Left now controls every major institution in the country. They no longer have any need for Jewish money, or Jewish support in some academic circles.

Jews represent an existential threat to the Palestinian people getting the country they covet. The Palestinians and their sympathizers are very much part of the Left Friend Coalition.

So Jews are out.

They burned all their bridges with the Right. The left has now expelled them from the Friend Coalition. And they are now a very lonely two percent.

"Why stop there with the catalog of gloom?"

I'm 76. On the tail-end of my life. I've survived the 50's and 60's without being nuked, outlived everyone else in my family, and have seen my country turned into a 3rd World Commie shit hole over those 76 years. Pardon me if I'm skeptical that a corrupt government that stole an election to overthrow a sitting President, and has thrown everything they can at Trump to keep him off the ballot, wouldn't go to any length possible, including murder, in order to keep Trump out of office again. Hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
