Rift over recruiting at public high schools

If the schools don't want the recruiters in to to recruit volunteers for the military then we can go back to the draft and they won't have much choice about going into the military.

I personally don't want to see the draft come back, but they can not have their cake and eat it too.

Just because the courts give their blessing to abortion does not mean it isn't murder. By the way, the military only does what the government tells it to do. Remember that when you draw your next government paycheck and cash those big hunking ones from the feds for schools. You also may want to start a class Government 101 since you don't seem to have a grip on who is responsible for what. Just continue to make sure your kids are good at basketball because that is what Garfield is known for.

this article just ads to my stack of the reasons why my 7-year old will never see a public school and I'll never set foot in a PTA, aka NEA, aka Socialist Parent Cheerleaders meeting...

They are doing something similar in our town...they are complaining about the recruiters, but instead of making them leave, they want "Veterans for Peace", and other "Peace Activists" to come to the school to show the kids what joining the military is REALLY about...all at our expense.

The school in the article is not making recruiters leave. The last three paragraphs of the article, which are omitted from the posting, explain that. The PTA is just expressing its opposition to recruiting on campus. I wonder if a nonprofit organization, such as the PTA, can maintain its tax exempt status when it speaks out on such political issues.
