Hezbollah is a very different type of organization than Hamas or ISIS. They have become much more focused and disciplined over the years, and are usually not prone to wild, reckless terrorist attacks. Their political affiliate in Lebanon is widely recognized among many countries as a legitimate political organization.

One person I knew in law enforcement some years ago described them as comparable to an organized crime family with the military capability of heavily-armed light infantry force.
