Howdy, luvie.
Did it stay in the double digits today?
It was a steamy 80 here for a while, then a storm blew up and dropped the temp to 65 in a flash.
Keep the Lord’s Day in the Lord’s way.
A blessed Day of Pentecost (Western)†/Sunday of the Myrrh-Bearers (Orthodox) to all!
†Orthodox Pascha was May 5; Orthodox Pentecost will be on June 23.
Hey there, radu!
Yeah, it officially got up to 97. Felt like a furnace, because the last 2 days were nice and coolish, because of the rain and hailstorm we got. No damage from the hail.
I take it y’all got rain, too? :)
Ugh! Too hot! Keep it there! LOL
They keep saying 90 here Tuesday and Monday will be mighty close. Too early for that!
Yes, we had a little rain while I slept, then another round this afternoon. Out of nowhere, a storm blew up overhead and dumped a lot of rain and some hail, and some strong wind. There was some wide rotation a couple of times.
This place is a swamp tonight.
Maybe that was the worn-down tail end of the horrible storm that roared through Houston the other day? I’m glad you didn’t get all THAT! Yikes!
I’m already longing for fall. ROFL!!
It’s sort part of that system. The worst stayed way down south. We just got rain and a few storms here and there. The one that blew up here was intense and unexpected. There was just a nice gentle rainfall and no storms close by when I’d checked the radar. A few minutes later - - WHOOSH!
No damage that I can see from the house but the trees sure were swaying hard for several minutes.
I’m far from longing for fall. LOL But it hasn’t been warm up here all that long, where you’ve been dealing with heat for a while.
Those kinds of storms really get my back up, because I’m so terrified of tornadoes. It’s one thing to watch the chasers, but when I see the aftermath of the bad ones, my fear comes back. Did you have any downed tree limbs?
It looks like we’re into the 90s every day now. Well, summer is just a month away....and meteorological summer less than 2 weeks away on June 1st..
It did surprise me but didn’t shake me up. And it made me mad because I’d moved the potted plants out from under the carport at the old house to let them get their leaves wet with rain. The two night-blooming cereus are large and on stands and I just knew they’d been blown over and had broken stems but somehow, they stayed upright. Whew. All are back in their spots under the carport now.
I didn’t see anything down this afternoon but I probably should grab a flashlight and do a walk-around. There’s a lot I can’t see from the house.
We’ll be hot tomorrow through Tuesday, then back down to low 80s the rest of the week - - and have rain again. *sigh* Oh well, the rain is making the corn grow crazy-fast.
Ugh. I can only imagine how the heat+the rain is going to equal high humidity. But the corn will love that too. You’re gonna have that CornWall before you know it!
We had ribs for supper yesterday.
Yesterday at Comanche Lake:
How's everyone doing this morning?
I hope we don’t use up this year’s rain quota early again. It sux when the spigots shuts off when the crops need rain to plump up their grains. Last summer was horrible, as was the year before.
But yeah, right now that Corn Wall will be blocking the view in no time at the rate it’s growing.
Just got in from doing a walk-around and I’m amazed that everything’s intact. I only picked up one small branch in the front yard at the old house. I guess there have been enough storms here to knock out all the weak stuff and what remains is good and strong. I expected a lot of tree trash, at the least. Got lucky this time.
Howdy, E.G.C. ((HUGZ))
A lovely day you had for your outing with Gizmo. Sure would be nice if you could share some of that pretty blue sky with us over here. But you can keep the heat! LOL
It looks like Gizmo had a great time out there. I hope it wasn’t too crowded.
It was a little crowded but not very much. Just a fisherman on one of the piers and then people driving out of the lake and that was it. We’ll see how things go later today.
