An Open Letter to Mr. Jim Robinson
April/25/05 | jveritas

Posted on 04/25/2005 6:13:10 AM PDT by jveritas

What is happening to Free Republic Mr. Robinson? The Bush Haters and Republican Haters are getting louder and more daring by the hour. These phony conservatives who claim the Conservatism purity are savagely attacking President Bush and the GOP as bad as the worst liberals.

The Bash Bush feast is becoming a part of every thread. Everywhere you see Bush is a traitor, Bush wants to sell our sovereignty to Mexico, Bush is a liberal, Bush has no spine, Bush is destroying our economy, Bush is puppet in Vincent Fox hand, Bush is this Bush is that, everything wrong in this world is Bush fault.

Nothing but doom and gloom is coming from these phony conservatives. For them our economy is destroyed, liberals are controlling the government, the GOP will be finished by 2006, Mexico has invaded the US and changed its identity, China is superior to us, we are no more a superpower, and on and on and on. Every minor bump in the road is turned into a Mount Everest of catastrophe and disaster

Either Free Republic will remain the Premier political forum on the internet, a site to advance the real conservative cause and provide great and continuous support to our President Bush and the Republican Party, or it will be forum controlled by bitter and delusional phony conservatives who can never win on the ballot box, and come to FR to poison the atmosphere through their extreme kooky rhetoric and turn it into another Dummyland.

Enough is Enough.

I resemble that remark.

You ever eat bush bake beans.

I started out My political life campaigning for Barry Goldwater. I don't need to validate My party loyalty. When I don't like the way We are going, however, the party is going to hear from Me. This is one of those times. I say nothing on this forum that I would not say, in person, to President Bush, in fact, I have said a lot of it, to Jeb, in a phone conversation a number of years ago. Part of the conversation involved My opinion that We were going to lose the election if We didn't cut the crap, and guess who was right?
I see no reason for importing people, who, upon attaining citizenship, are going to vote against most of what I hold sacred, I likely won't be around long, but My Kids and Grandkids will.
If We do not stop the trend toward liberalism, the next step is an ungovernable society, and tyranny. It may be inevitable anyway, but I will have no part in creating the situation.
The only reasons I am not out patrolling the border are that I am not healthy and young enough, and My old Jeep is unlikely to make it that far.
As far as Second Amendment issues go, things have already gone too far to be considered constitutionally proper, and if Republicans will not defend the Constitution, who will?
I am just one of the hidden Redneck Republicans, but just as much aboard as any of You CEO folks. I have dreams about the future of My Kids, just like You do, and I'll be Damned before I can't speak out when I have an opinion. I suspect that everyone here still has to put on one sock at a time, but if I'm wrong I'd like to see a demonstration.

Your own money was taken by the government and President Bush gave you some back.

A minute ago you said he had the power to tax and untax. So he IS the government according to you.

I don't need the elite taking my money and then giving it back to me in order to garner my political support. Children fall for such nonsense.

The only reason SOME (as in me) of us libertarian Freepers voted for "Shrub" in the first place is that he ran against to versions of the same RAT Frankenstein (Gore and Kerry). Had he been challenged by, say someone like Zell Miller, he'd be back in Crawford Texas now, lamenting his old DUI ticket, his non-service to ACTIVE duty during a time when the country needed him, and his lack of gonads about the real issues facing America. Bush, IMHO, is a warmed-over version of his old man (the only mistake that Saint Ronald Reagan ever made was giving the Herbert Walker "Read-My-Lips Voodoo Economics" Bush's a foot inside the door of the WH, thereby establishing a legacy where Junior and Jeb can show their real color--yellow--and bow out when courage is needed--i.e. Terry Shiavo).

This sounds so much like the things people were saying in 1998.

Also 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004.

"OK, then. This is now in Chat, so I doubt that many will post to this thread. Too bad."

Swept it under the rug, out of sight out of mind. So long as the checks keep rolling in the topic is irrelevant.

Bush is "Shrub" now and you have the audacity to call yourself a freeper. Where did you learn this world from, the Dummies perhaps?

"Shouldn't the question be, why aren't the multitude of online pundits concerns being taken seriously by those on the top of the Republican pyramid?"

Yes. This should be the question and it is, I think, the reason that all us conservatives DO articulate our concerns re: Bush's non conservative policies.

Uh, does Bush and Rove CARE that they just alienated the prayerful Christian base that got them elected this time around with the Nazi murder of Terri Shiavo? Even Clinton had the BALLS to break the law in the Florida Elian case when he had Feds snatch the poor kid. Bush turned to mush here, and his deaf ear on the border is equally inexplicable.

Don't censor conservatives because of our political discernment on Bush -- we love him and are trying to be fair.

"us libertarian Freepers"

You never seemed libertarian when you were pumping McCain and his very-unlibertarian CFR proposals.

Your own money was taken by the government and President Bush gave you some back.

The amount the government takes, IMO, is less important than what the government spends. What good did it do to get a tax break when spending increased massively? Sooner or later, that needs to be paid for, either by me or by future generations.

Bush has had four primary failings:

1 - increased federal government involvement in education

2 - failure to increase border security or deal with illegal immigration

3 - runaway spending

4 - the Medicare prescription drug benefit, which made our entitlement crisis worse, not better.

Those are not trivial matters. And he needs to hear that he was wrong - especially on #2, which is a serious threat to our safety and a failure to carry out his proper, constitutional duties. The other three are usurpations of federal power - but borders are a fundamental federal responsibility.

It's all Bush's fault

No, part of it's me.
I keep plasterin' this stupid green guy w/a cigar on a lotta threads.

I know it's a pointless use of bandwidth that could be better used combatting the socialists every single micronanosecond.
It's contributing to the fall of conservativism, and I can't allow these mean people to let you and W take the rap alone.

I'll try to do better.
Tomorrow.
Promise.
