They just replayed it on our local news. Her family was estatic. They could have at least faked some sympathy for Elliot while the camera was on them.

It really didn't come off that way to me. This was after the video piece that showed how far Elliot had come (they respectfully omitted the "Bad Day" song this time) and when they came back to Elliot, I don't think there was a dry eye in the house.
When Seacrest said "this is congratulations" it was in a very respectful tone and Elliot accepted that way--he even gave Seacrest a one-armed brother-man hug :)

I can't hate Kat, because I'm sure she's spent twenty years being groomed for this. In fact, I actually like her. Elliott's got a way better voice, but let's face it, this is American Idol. That doesn't matter.
On to next week, when Taylor crushes Katharine as badly as Kelly crushed Justin. *fingers crossed*

Those vote totals, curious as they are, don't show a walkaway win for Taylor next week. Right now, a sappy pop ballad is being prepared...
Taylor's family looked rather somber I might add. I will say that McPhee is in for a rough week next week. Taylor's base is strong but not only do E's fans have a good rapport with Taylor's people, there is likely to be outrage that E left and she stayed.
1) There is anger there that the show gave her almost a 3 minute performance whereas E and T didn't get close to that.
2) E had one off night and gets booted but she butchers songs repeatedly and stays.
3) Her family's antics have struck a nerve with the rapid crazies out there.
Interesting times ahead next week.

Taylor and Elliot had very huge crowds! Katharine's crowds were dismal. SHe said she doesn''t get the small town support, like B'ham and Richmond are so tiny. BLAH. I just can't like her.
They are not good people.
It's like a whole little world in that place.
