So here I was - taking my daughter to school this morning (She is a high school sophomore) and she was telling me of a discussion she and the other kids were having about Black History Month.
One kid suggested that - to be fair - there should be a White History Month. He was quickly chastised; "Whites don't deserve a special history month due to the racial prejudices they've committed over the years". My daughter related some of the "Rosa Parks" types of incidents as evidence of why there should be no White History Month.
It was early. I was driving and had not yet had my first cup of coffee. And so I was speechless.

Horse shit. To celebrate any one group on America is to divide America. No black, white, green or yellow history month, ever. And f*** anyone who thinks we should have one. I am tired of socialist, tired of dejure communism, tired of a**hats like Bozo and the dem and Rino congress trying to tell us how to live. F*** ‘em all and down with communism in all its forms.

Let me correct that Obama’s election proved that racism against blacks is all but dead in this country. Unfortunately reverse racism is alive and well.
it doesn’t matter where your kid goes to school, teaching them yourself is of paramount importance. my kids have always gone to private schools, but there is liberal bias everywhere. you are your child’s primary educator, as far as worldview and ideology, and if you leave it to someone else, you are most definitely taking your chances. i do not mean to insult you responsibility2d, but i am pretty astounded that your daughter, as a sophomore in HS, could ever buy into the liberal claptrap of black history month. don’t you talk about things at home? my kids are quite often the ONLY conservatives in their classrooms, but they have always been able to argue their position and prove themselves better informed and better able to back up their position with facts.
As long as it’s hyphenated we’re good.
When Americans STOP responding to the Race Pimps, Sharpton, Jacskon, Michelle Obama, etc. then we can carry on the American dream for us and our children. This barrage of hate and guilt can only work as long as whitey keeps responding to the nonsense. Laughter and correction with the truth is a good start. I am tired of the finger pointing by blacks and leftists, it is all divide and conquer and I’m saddened that any parent would allow that kind of tripe to go unchallenged. I’d go to the teacher and the School Board and raise hell, just for starters!

I wouldn't have had to say anything, because I haven't failed as a parent - my kids arean't liberals, and they aren't racists.
I have done that too, with people who tried to speak spanish to me. I always respond in German. They find it irritating, which is the desired effect.

Yeah, i agree, it’s totally uncool to be so out of touch, and have done so little imparting of your values, that your kid could turn out to be a racist liberal, and not even know it.
I know my kids much better than the OP, obviously.

No, you’re uncool for slamming the OP instead of helping the OP. Some kids think for themselves regardless of thier parents’ instruction. I wouldn’t call this person a failed parent because I don’t even know them or thier kids.

Your kid made racist comments. YOU admitted it.
Why do you have to ping the mods on my comment, maybe you need a mod for your kids racism. If you had been a bit more proactive over the years, you wouldn’t have a kid who makes racist comments.

Blacks will never ever acheive what they seek if they cling to victimhood.
If you think about it, there’s no yellow history month.
Or red, or even native American.
Yet Asians were enslaved and abused and rounded up after Pearl Harbor.
There should be no history month, for any race, creed, region or country. Period.
What happened to many blacks was awful but it was a very long time ago and I’d say when the most powerful single individual in the free world, “the man” as it were, is black, the goal, MLK’s vision has been forever and permanently set in stone realized.
Oprah, Tiger Woods, astronauts, politicians, generals, now president...there’s just no where else to go in society to gain this...equality!
It’s time to disband black history month, declare victory and move on.
Otherwise there’ll eventually be a back-lash of sorts, a self-fulfilling prophecy and the irony is it’ll be Asians, Hispanics, Native Americans, Jews or all of the above and so on telling blacks to shut up, move on and quit whining already!
