The EPA , department of energy, FHA, IRS, department of education, the FDA, and on and on and on...... Privatize the schools (if Abraham Lincoln was able to educate himself in a log cabin, we can make do without government schools today); sell off chunks of government land (why does the government own over half the land area in the West?); bring back the troops from Europe; get out of the United Nations; stop government Foreign Aid (if private citizens want to send foreign countries their checks - let them) - and thus significantly chop down the size of the State Department; stop illegal immigration/invasion (and thereby eliminate the billions of dollars spent to maintain the social welfare net for illegals)... and on and on and on...

Yep, Washington is a target rich zone.
It is so bloated and corrupted that is past time for some major surgery.
It is TIME to DownSize DC!
Close entire departments and major cuts in others.
Force Congress and Senate to telecommute most of the year from their home district. Away from the Lobbyists and under the thumb of the electorate. Can you imagine the cost savings and it would completely change the center-of-gravity of the Federal Government.
The Texas legislature meets every 2 years unless the governor calls a special session. It has worked well for a long time. There is nothing to prevent Congress from deciding to operate the same way, except the pain of giving up the bribes, freebees and perks of the current system.
