On this I am inclined to agree with you. It reminds me of occurrences of optical illusions where people see Jesus in the patterns on toast or a window or something. Scientists claim that much of our brain's visual processing capability is driven to recognize patterns, and that it is in our nature to look for them even when they don't exist. I think many efforts such as this, are looking for patterns in our mind's eye.

I will not disparage peoples efforts to see such patterns, but I would ask for more compelling evidence before I would claim to see them too.

This story about Obama being Malcolm X's illegitimate son is too preposterous. For one thing, Obama has a great deal of facial resemblance to his mother and paternal grandfather, far more than to Malcolm X. Additionally, Malcolm X had Scottish ancestry on his mother's side and certainly appeared to be mixed race. If that were the case, Obama would be predominantly Caucasian, as his mother was of British, Irish, and German ancestry. His appearance is consistent with other prominent people of equal black-white ancestry, e.g. Halle Berry. Then you have the not inconsiderable problem of placing a then 16 year old Stanley Ann Dunham around the New York City area for her to have met the black Muslim militant.

That said, there is a lot of questions about Obama's background and identity that are not answered satisfactorily.

Not so. One person who did remember Mr. Obama was Michael L. Baron, who taught a senior seminar on international politics and American policy. Mr. Baron, now president of an electronics company in Florida, said he was Mr. Obama’s adviser on the senior thesis for that course. Mr. Baron, who later wrote Mr. Obama a recommendation for Harvard Law School, gave him an A in the course.

Michael J. Wolf, who took the seminar with him and went on to become president of MTV Networks, said: “He was very smart. He had a broad sense of international politics and international relations. It was a class with a lot of debate. He was a very, very active participant. I think he was truly distinctive from the other people in that class. He stood out.”
