Letter: Palin’s GOP too far-right for me
The Chicago Sun-Times ^ | February 13, 2012 | Rob Sarnowski

Posted on 02/13/2012 8:02:44 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Did you ever think that perhaps “conservative enough” by Sarah Palin’s standards might be too far right for the rest of us Republicans and independents?

Most of us are not wealthy and are neither racist nor homophobic. We are not all evangelical Christians. We are merely commonsense people, most of whom have faith in God, but respect people who do not share our faith (we pray for them rather than judge them); we believe strongly in fiscal restraint, less government intrusion in our lives, a fair taxation system and an agenda that is not only without discrimination but also includes all people regardless of their race, religion, sexual preference or economic status.

We “RINOS,” as we have been labeled by the far-right commentators, are the Republican Party, too.

If the eventual nominee of the GOP is not “conservative enough” for Sarah Palin or the Tea Party to endorse, then perhaps it is they who are not listening.

Sounds a lot like Palin. Sounds a lot like the tea party.

Hey, RHINOs since President Reagan we Conservatives have voted for voodoo economics to compassionate conservatism. We did get for a short time a ‘mostly’ conservative Congress, after Newt nationalized the Congressional election of 1994... BUT the PROUD-GOP planted the PROUD as their ‘big-tent’ pegs and suddenly the GOP became a TARP.

So you all enjoy your trip to Obamination because the RHINO political class have had no mind or spine to say enough is enough.

A quick Google search reveals that this putz is a frequent letter writer to the editorial page.

In the past he’s defended Rod Blagojevich as just another politician who deserved a second chance.

Definitely an Obama voter.

There’s a direct relationship between ignorance and often sheer stupidity and leanings to the left.

“Most of us are not wealthy and are neither racist nor homophobic.”

Everyone knows that Sarah is wealthy, racist, and homophobic.

People like this are really disturbed.

Most of us are not wealthy and are neither racist nor homophobic.

He constructs a field of straw men at the very beginning of this very silly essay.

But... but... but... it’s OK to judge Sarah Palin, ‘cause she’s evil.

It’s time the RINO’s vote with us conservatives for a change. We are the Republican party too, and we have been forced to vote for stealth Dems running as Republicans for the last time. If you want common sense follow us or vote for the socialists, I don’t care anymore.

We are merely commonsense people, most of whom have faith in God, but respect people who do not share our faith (we pray for them rather than judge them)

Typical leftist pseudo-religious blather about judging. Here's the truth:

He that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. (1 Corinthians 2:15)

They surely don't read the Bible or care enough to tell others the truth in love, that they are hell-bound without faith in Jesus Christ--John 3:36, Romans 6:23, Revelation 20:14,15. But they would call that "judging."

First, Rob, if that’s what you think the gov is all about, you might want to do your own research and thinking for a change. You’ve been gravely misinformed.

Second, it’s not just that the current field isn’t far enough right for me. It’s that I’m not anywhere near as confident as I’d like to be that any candidate in that field is ready or able to prosecute a successful national campaign all the way to a win in November against the worst the Chicago Way has to offer. In fact, I have serious concerns about whether some of these guys could do it even against less ruthless competition than the Chicago Way. I thought in September 2008, July 2009, October 2011, and still do now, that Sarah Palin just might.
